Starfish Manor Oceanfront Hotel

I enjoyed having an oceanfront view, the friendliness from one of the front office staff (younger woman, 25), the jetted tub, and the location was great!

I did not like hearing, " for guests who stay two nights, we charge them for three" as I was approaching the lobby to check out and one of the older women looked at me strangely and laughed as I was leaving. Not sure the context, but it was an awkward experience. Also, I did not like the lack of communication through the messaging portion of this app; asked if I could come check in an hour or two earlier and was sent a message 7 hours after I checked in and was sent a message in all capital letters.

The view was exceptional, esp. with the jacuzzi tub facing the ocean. The little table was perfect for working on my laptop and taking calls while looking out at the beautiful sea and sunset. I was lucky with sunshine all 3 days!

The room seemed to heat itself even without the heat turned on and remained consistently at 68-70. So the comforter was too hot for me. It would be nice to have a lighter blanket; I ended up using the dustcover as a blanket. the kitchen sink faucet has a slow drip; you might want to fix that. Room 504. On the final night, someone either next door or below me was playing very loud music that shook the floors for over an hour around 9pm. I called reception and they said they would call. It took about 30 mins. for them to stop.

Two couches worked wonderfully for 4 people, and both had a view of the ocean. The large, padded footstool accommodated all of us. The hot tub was a nice addition on those cloudy, rainy evenings. The small dinette comfortably sat 4 and the kitchen was all we needed. The coffee was delicious! Attached pictures are from our balcony! Absolutely stunning!

It would have been nice to have a full 10 or 12 cup coffee pot instead of the 4 cup carafe. It was a bit disappointing to have our accommodations changed the day before because of a non-working hot tub in the unit we had booked. We did appreciate the working hot tub though. But missed the second bathroom we would have had in the first unit. We did appreciate the reduction in our total cost because of it.

EVERYONE was soo kind to us and others. They were professional but also personable. I love it here so much. Even those who helped cleaned the rooms asked me if I got my towels. And during the night we were cold and they were so kind to give us more stuff to keep us warm.

I loved the shower so much. One thing I wish I could have prevented was water splashing out do the shower onto the bathroom floor. But that was the only thing and it wasn’t something I didn’t like about it. It was more like, how do I shower so I don’t cause a mess lol.

The staff was very friendly. The room was large. The parking was easy and free. Beautiful beach view. The double shower in the room is nice.

The trash was full in our room when we arrived. The fire place would not start, maintenance staff was not available until after 10pm. They ended up arriving a bit early and fixed the fireplace. The toilet was broken. You need to lift the back to stop the constant running water. The rooms are very hot, even with temps of 65 degrees outside.

Everything about the Starfish was exceptional. There was plenty of convenient parking, covered protected from the rain. Registration was quick and we were welcomed by pleasant staff. The room was exceptional. Spootlessly clean, large with a beautiful balcony overlooking the ocean. The balcony was quite private and protected from the wind by glass which was spotlessly clean. Beds were large and very comfortable. The shower had two heads, lovely! The jetted tub was beside the picture window overlooking the ocean. This would make a perfect honeymoon suite. I honestly cannot say enough about the Starfish. As sson as we walked into our room I felt I had SCORED. Thanks to all.

I didn't like the fact that I could not stay for a whole week. It was so terrific!

We loved the spa tub in our room it was very relaxing and romantic especially because of the added view of the beach. The bed was very comfy and the dual shower head was also a pretty cool feature.

The only thing that I didn't like is that our beach front windows looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months. A pool and or hot tub would have been nice but the property is very nice and the stay was great even without them.

No amenities .. no food there or even a small little bar.. ..for a place that nice and for it to be adults only and no children you would think they would have a small bar or something to eat.. no literature in the room or a book that shows restaurants that are local or what food deliveries you could get.. there's only one ice machine and that's in the main lobby no other ice machines on either of the five floors they need to get it together to make it a better experience other than that the rooms were nice Jacuzzi tub was nice and the view is excellent on the Ocean Side..

Overall, a nice experience. It feels like they've recently remodeled, so the rooms have a fresh, upgraded feel to them. The color-scheme may not appeal to some, (it's grayish), but they did a great job in the decor, making it feel comfy and modern at the same time. I stayed in one of the "Sunset Room" singles with a kitchnette, King bed, fireplace, and huge jetted tub, and it did not feel cramped at all. All rooms have ocean-facing patios and those on the ground level (like mine) also have their own shared courtyards overlooking the beach. The mid-week pricing was competitive.

Lack of direct beach access from my side of the property. The hedge/bushes between the courtyard and the beach are higher than the ones on the courtyard below me - forces you to sit up closer to them to see the beach. Lack of a comfy sitting chair (the table chairs are not "comfy" and it's not as easy to watch TV from sitting up on the bed since it faces away from the TV angle - not sure you can do anything about this, but I thought I'd mention it.)

Despite Booking com messing up and not notifying them of our change of date, they made every effort to get us into a comparable room and then refunded when it was not suitable.

Booking com really messed up. I had booked a date but then changed the date through this site. Booking confirmed to me that the change was made but Starfish knew nothing, so did not have a room ready when we arrived. Highly recommend scheduling directly with Starfish rather than this site.
