Genetti Hotel, SureStay Collection by Best Western

We chose this hotel because it was a stopping point in our travels. Beautiful rooms. Spacious, clean and ample closet space. The hotel itself is beautiful- so many historic pictures- if you are a history buff you could spend lots of time looking at the pictures on the wall. I called ahead of time and asked if we could do a late check in, and it was no problem. When we finally got to the hotel in the middle of the night, the front desk was ready for us (Ron maybe?). He was very kind and reminded us about breakfast in the morning. Check in was fast and easy. Breakfast the next morning was great - if you are traveling with kids, don't miss it. There is a buffet with lots of options for everyone. There is also an outdoor pool. Check out was so seamless - we dropped off our keys and we were done. I would definitely go back. Plenty of parking around the back

Its a challenge to get to the dining room. The elevator does not stop on the actual floor - its one of those half-floors. Not wheelchair accessible. If you have mobility issues, you have to find a way to navigate a few steps - its manageable tho.

I stayed for one night to break up a long drive from Ontario to Maryland. It's a really neat hotel with a lot of character. The rate for the night was very affordable. The room itself had an old-fashioned vibe. One note is that the sink and mirror were in the main room outside of the restroom with the toilet and shower. Otherwise, the expected amenities were there. Parking is convenient - check in first, then use your room key to enter the lot. Breakfast was good with a nice buffet-style selection. The staff I interacted with were welcoming and helpful. I didn't get much of a chance to explore Williamsport, but it seems like a nice place to visit with restaurants, bars, and live music. There was a lot of noise around 2am. My impression from only one night is that this hotel - and the area in general - is suited to gathering with friends, family, and partners. Absolute quiet may not be realistic to expect.

Having read previous reviews I had an expectation that the hotel and it's decor were "retro", a step back in time, which was part of the reason for booking ie something different from what we had been experiencing on our roadtrip. Clearly this was a classy hotel in the past, thick carpets, chandeliers, huge rooms etc and we enjoyed the ambience. Staff were friendly, bedroom was huge, water hot, good choice for breakfast, free parking in a central location.

Let me think....can't think of anything not-too-like as long as you do not expect a modern, minimalistic boutique type hotel.

This was the first time we stayed at the Genetti Hotel and what a welcome surprise! A short 5 minute drive off Route 15 in Williamsport, it was an ideal stopover for us as we headed from the DC area to upstate New York. Plenty of free parking too. The hotel has a rich history, proudly displayed on its walls, and we stayed in the Queen Suite (it was Mother's Day) which was large and roomy and had everything we needed. The heartfelt note from the owner to all his guests was a wonderful touch. Best of all was the breakfast! Hot entrees, including real eggs, home fries, cheesy grits, etc were accompanied by bagels, cereal, fruit, and many other choices. I would look forward to staying there again.

Our one and only disappointment was that the bar and restaurant were not open on Sundays. However, there were multiple restaurant choices within walking distance, and we had a great woodfired pizza a block away.

I enjoyed the spacious room on the 10th floor, we had amazing views. We got to bring our dogs and they were given treats upon arrival. The staff was very friendly and the location was perfect for our trip. The breakfast was great and having parking available is always a plus.

The bathroom for our room was very small and the tiles in the bath need to be worked on. There was a water stain on the ceiling, probably from a previous leak. Otherwise, our experience was great and none of this would stop me from staying at this hotel again.

The whole building gave you a feel of comfort history and a great atmosphere. Christmas theme in the lobby and such was excellent. The rooms were very clean. They didn't have any smell. They were just clean. Clean has no smell. We enjoyed our stay. We will be coming back in the area. We are expecting to stay at Genetti again Really enjoyed the breakfast. It was a restaurant meal not a warmed up. Bagged food. Liked that it had a restaurant in the building and a lounge can't say enough for how much we enjoyed our stay

Not much to say that we did not like if I was to be picky I would say could have had a walk-in shower instead of a tub/shower and that's looking for something just to say I didn't like.

Staying at the Genetti is always a wonderful experience. It's our first option whenever staying in the Williamsport area. The staff is wonderful, and all have a "how can we help " attitude. The free full breakfast equals or exceeds any other hotel. Always becomes a special occasion, even if it's just an overnight.

A bit disappointed at the restaurant. This was a birthday gift to my partner, and we had checked off our preferences online in anticipation. Once there, we found that they were doing a limited menu because of shows and activities in and near the hotel. I understand it, and what we had was wonderful, but it dampened the spirit. We will happily return though.

Everything was nice staff was very friendly and professional.

When vacationing I like sleeping a little late 830 9am. Due to work I wake up at 530. The room didn't have sun blocking drapes or curtains so I was up at 530/6am due to the sun shining in the room. When at the pool area most of the lounge chairs had holes and rips in them. Those where the only 2 down side of the place everything else I liked.

We stayed here on the first night to upstate NY. I knew going in that this was a 100 year old hotel. I loved the history of it. I feel like it looked a lot like it did 100 years ago. However a hotel that old does show it's age. The room was extremely small. The sink was not in the bathroom. The fixtures were original it seemed. But that gave it character. We stayed on the 8th floor and had a beautiful view of downtown, and that was within walking distance of everything. The room was a bit small, but nothing we could not handle. Also they had a very nice hot breakfast available that was included in our room. We enjoyed that immensely. It was a great experience.

The only thing I can think of is that the plumbing was old and there was a ton of toilet paper in the toilet bowl when we arrived. If you held the handle down a few times, it would go down, but it seems housekeeping would have resolved that before someone checked in.

To be honest, walking into the hotel about to check in, we got a bit worried, and I even checked out the score on booking.com again to makes sure I didn't blunder it up somewhere, and I'm glad we pushed through. The hotel is OLD and it looks the part, but the staff and the room way above what we expected. The room was big and spacious. The beds where really comfortable and the bathroom was neat and clean. Yes, this is an old hotel and looks like it got stuck somewhere in the 70's, but it was one the best stays on our road trip.
