Hampton Inn & Suites Greenville-Downtown-Riverplace

The bedroom & bathroom were both very nice with plenty of space. The bed was soft & comfortable. The Riverview from our room was a nice added feature & was beautiful to enjoy the view while having my morning coffee on the balcony! Tammy was very sweet & helpful with the questions we had about our stay & suggestions on places to eat downtown. The entire staff was friendly & welcoming. The breakfast & coffee was great as well.

The bell tower was a bit much in the morning, especially if you're sleeping in & your room is right next to it. That's just a personal preference of mine to enjoy some quiet mornings. I know that it was not part of the hotel, so no fault of theirs, it's just worth a mention.

location is great.

unusually small pillows on the bed. no bar although similar hotels had them. no bikes to borrow although similar hotels had them. toilet wobbled when we sat on it. Breakfast egg items seemed to be made in a factory in China… the rest of the breakfast was nearly as institutional and unhealthy… some healthier choices (berries, melon, cottage cheese, low fat low sugar yogurt, whole grain bagels) would be nice! or just skip the breakfast and lower the rate.

The property was clean. The staff was kind. (The ladies who set up breakfast were especially nice.) The location is very well suited to the nicely restored areas downtown and numerous restaurants. The price point is appropriate for this type of hotel. I grew up in Greenville. It is really nice to see how the area has attracted new investments.

The only reason "facilities" doesn't get a full mark is because I also stay at (and rate) resort leading hotels globally. No Hampton Inn has all the extras. It is a good value hotel (not a resort). This Hampton has been well maintained, and hence it deserved a high rating. I stayed in other Hampton Inns on this same trip. They were not acceptable.

Excellent location and exceptional staff members! From the very first communication, every single staff member was friendly, accommodating, and they always had a smile. This is a great property and will definitely stay here again.

The only bad thing that we experienced is that we couldn't stay longer.

The location was very convenient for us and within walking distance of most of our planned activities.

At check in, the price we were going to be charged was much more than our price on booking.com. When we questioned the staff member, it was corrected to the booking.com price.

Loved the location. The hotel is within walking distance of downtown and right across from the Peace Center. We viewed a concert from our balcony. Being beside the river, park, bridges, etc. was great! Breakfast each morning was good (there were a variety of items to choose from) but was lukewarm. Didn't see a microwave. The breakfast staff was pleasant and cleared the table and sanitized each area after guests finished eating. Our room and the hotel were clean. A sanitizer machine was attached above the elevator door buttons. A preprinted note was available in the room detailing what surfaces were cleaned. Extra towels/sheets were available upon request, which I liked because I've always hated feeling like I need to leave so a housekeeper could enter. We had a King room with a balcony which was great. There was a microwave, mini-fridge, and one cup coffee maker in the room. The black-out curtains were great. There was a huge tv mounted to the wall. The hotel was pretty full but parking seemed plentiful. No issue getting an elevator when needed. Some guests were masked but most weren't.

The "guide" button on our tv remote didn't work and the channel button was delayed so we spent some time flipping channels. The light switch in the bathroom caused the lights to be delayed for several seconds before coming on. There is a bell tower outside in the courtyard. The bells ring LOUDLY and play songs at various times during the day. This isn't so bad if you're awake but they began playing early on Sunday morning. I don't think this was the hotel's issue but we were disappointed that the fountains in the park/riverwalk weren't on.

We had a riverfront balcony suite which was very nice! It was far from the elevator and guest traffic so we found it to be very quiet and enjoyable. The hostess that checked us in was wonderful. I think her name was Marybelle. The location was lovely & convenient. We would not hesitate to stay again.

The breakfast was lacking. The coffee was not very good and the eggs were inedible. We have stayed at hotels that served a much nicer continental breakfast. The shower curtain didn't really fit in the shower so the floor got flooded with every shower. Paying for parking is annoying when the rooms were on the higher end price wise. One of the evening hosts was a young man and acted quite put out when I asked for more coffee to take up to the room. Overall a good experience.

The size of the room was perfect for our needs. We had bikes with us, so needed extra floor space which we had. The location right on the Swamp Rabbit Trail was perfect, as well as the location in the downtown area.

Zero complaints. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

Staff was extremely accomodating. Breakfast, the breakfast staff and room it was served in started the day right, The location was excellent, overlooking the park, walkable to all of downtown and the baseball field.

Refurbishing was taking place and some facilities/elevators impacted. Beds a bit too soft for my taste.

Breakfast was average. Location was my priority and I was satisfied.

A better rate. Too many options searching for a good rate. There was a broad range of pricing through the different sites. I was quoted $900 for a two night...TOO EXPENSIVE.
