Rushmore Express & Suites

Room was awesome. Loved having the separate bedroom so that we could sit and relax in the living area instead of on a bed. Very comfortable! I enjoyed working on the puzzle that you had outside the breakfast room. Very friendly and helpful staff.

I wish the breakfast had eggs every day as an option and more bakery type items. Also, the layout was kind of all over the place. Silverware should have been over by the toaster area as several people were looking all over for it in that area. They also need to do heavier plates for the items that use syrup or gravy. Also, garbage more visible. Food items that were offered were good just could use a few more.

The property was older but very well kept. It had a nice charm and was in a great location.

The staff at the front desk was not super friendly, and it seemed there was something off. The morning of our departure my husband went to the front desk to get some change to leave the cleaning staff a small tip. The front desk person started acting very strange and desperately wanted to get into our room before my husband when he learned about the tip. The head housekeeper, or so the front desk guy called her, was in an open room just off the front desk and could overhear the whole thing but she did not acknowledge anything happening around her even when the front desk guy pointed her out. There was something not right going on of which I do not understand. It was very strange and left us with an uneasy feeling.

This property offers a choice between "rustic" or suite. The "rustic" was suitable for one night but I might choose a suite for a longer stay. The location is ideal for a Rushmore visit as the name implies.

The only issue was that the hot water in our room was merely warm, both in the evening and during the following morning, while our traveling companion in the adjacent room reported hot water in his room. We reported it to the staff so that, hopefully, it could be addressed for the next tenant.

The property is in an excellent location for visiting Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park and the other sites in the area. We had a suite with sitting area, kitchenette, bathroom and bedroom. Overall the suite met our requirements more than adequately. The suite was quiet. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. The staff were helpful and courteous. The guest laundry facilities were useful. The property represented excellent value for money.

There is little to criticise but we have one observation. We arrived late afternoon/early evening on both days. We found a parking space on both occasions but the car park was almost full. Later arrival may have presented parking problems. On a light note, at around 6.00am on both mornings we heard a knocking from outside our room. We were already awake so the noise did not disturb us. We were curious and on enquiry the receptionist told us it was a woodpecker that was proving to be an unwanted guest.

Comfy beds. Close proximity to destinations. Price was fair. Pool. Elevator. Staff very helpful. I would stay here again in the future. Beautiful view right outside your door.

Toilet was small and very low. Was a struggle to use for a person with some health issues. The breakfast felt, institutional. I was getting an awkward vibe from other guest how how the breakfast was set up. The serving of cereal and food from behind the table by staff gave off the weird vibe. Best way I could explain, usually it's a self serve situation. Parking felt limited. There was minimal disabled parking. And a big hole in front of one.

This is a great location for visiting the Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse memorials. It was also very easy to get into Rapid City. We were booked in the Family Suite and it was HUGE! The decor was a little dated, but it didn't matter as we were out of the room most of the day. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. We had a leaky shower and they sent someone to fix it right away. It was very clean and comfortable.

The parking was a little tight when we arrived late in the evening. The breakfast was not great, but we didn't even know it was included.

Super nice staff, very, very clean facility, and exceptional price. The room was huge and you couldn't believe the beautiful bathroom!!! We stayed in a King Suite.

This is so minor, but the hot tub wasn't working and it had bugs floating in it. I think it was probably waiting to be drained and cleaned for the start of a new season. The pool was really nice though. Many comments about the breakfast being weird and I would have to agree. They didn't have enough eggs the second day, and they serve you. They should just get chaffing dishes and let you serve yourself and also get a juice machine. Plus they only had one pump pot of coffee in the breakfast room, however, this breakfast was complementary so it was nice to have it.

The room was very spacious and had a kitchen/living area separate from the bedroom. full sized bathroom which I always love. even a fireplace though we didn’t use it. The location was very central to all the nature parks, etc. Staff were responsive to our concern of a screaming child in the next room.

The pillows were flat as pancakes and only two on the bed whereas most places give you four. I did find third in a drawer and it was a little better although not much. the covers were meh. The breakfast was nothing to get excited about although there were hot items.

If you are visiting Mount Rushmore, this place is extremely convenient, just a very short drive. The suite was incredibly spacious with high ceilings on the 3rd floor rooms. Overall, we had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay here.

It was nice to have an included breakfast, and the options were pretty typical for the US. It continues to surprise me though that you cannot find a really good breakfast in a hotel in the US. A small upgrade in the breakfast would go a long ways to making this place completely perfect.

Our suite was very spacious. The location was perfect for Mount Rushmore, and there were restaurants within walking distance. The swimming pool was nice, although we would have liked it to open earlier, so we could have a swim in the morning before breakfast. Later in the day it was very busy with young families.

There was a poor choice for breakfast, although the two main women who served the food were very helpful.
