Hampton Inn Memphis Poplar

This Hampton Inn at Memphis Poplar is a good place to stay and sleep after a long drive, the location is not the best but is not the worst, it all depends where you going, the staff at night was courteous but do a card reader missfunction I was charged twice, next day the lady at front desk, fixed, she was friendly and courteous; the room was ok, good beds and clean, they provide us with extra towels as per our request and the Breakfast was Excellent !!

I got scare when saw the double charge do the card reader missfunction and also was charge a fee as deposit, I was not counting with that, I understand it will be refunded after few days, depends on my back to reflect, so if you travel under budget be careful !!

Nice room and bed, great breakfast with 2 different hot options changing daily. Wafers, bagels, muffins, porridge, cereal, juice and coffee. Front desk helpful though we needed change in staff to instantly get a 5th pillow for our room which had 4 upon arrival and we are a party of 5. Fresh towels upon request. Pool area ok but with a few cigarette buds laying around and pool not that clean but kids loved it. Overall very good stay - will come again. German town close by with restaurant and shops galore.

The desk clerk was friendly and attentive, while the location was located near lots of restaurants and stores. The room was extraordinarily clean and tidy. The furnishings were newer. Unlike another Hampton stay I had in the same city the same week, this location looked nice and wasn’t shabby or rundown. Despite being on a busy major street, I couldn’t hear any traffic or outside noise, and the hotel floor I was on (#4) was also very quiet. I had a meal delivered by Uber, and the desk clerk phoned to let me know she had sent the delivery person up to my room, which I appreciated. This is a great property and good value for the money.

Nothing. I was very pleased.

The location was great with many points of interest surrounding us. Shopping and places to eat proved to be readily available. The room was very nice including a large flat screen tv. 😀 The elevator temporarily broke down forcing us to walk from the third floor. We found relief in the fact that we found it repaired by the time that we returned.

The room was nice but a little cramped around the bed. Using A CPAP machine I found disappointment in the lack of end tables near the bed. The toilet seat 🚽 failed to remain in the upright position and fell down when not needed.

there were some red stains in the carpet and I have no idea what it was. there was also something on the inside of the comforter about the size of my pinky nail and it was white and hard. I got it off but was scared to let that part of the comforter touch me because it definitely shouldn’t have been there. I’m hoping it wasn’t dried up you know what?! YUCK!! I didn’t complain because we weren’t there long and I was way too tired to get another room. We were exhausted.

The staff at the hotel was extremely accommodating - one staff member gave me antibiotic ointment after I scraped my knee really badly, as well as some bandaids. I was happy to have breakfast before a big performance I had the days I was in Memphis.

There were no major problems with my stay. The only minor inconvenience was that I initially had a hard time finding the entrance to the parking lot, since there's a sharp turn to get in that otherwise leads to an unaffiliated parking lot for another property. Just be aware of that pulling into the location.

The hot breakfast was wonderful, and the staff was friendly. Hotel is in a safe location, with plenty of restaurants and eating establishments nearby. Free parking and free wifi made this a bargain. It's close to the freeways, and located in an area that makes reaching anywhere in Memphis pretty easy.

The rooms are tiny. I got a king room that is supposed to sleep 5- we were three adults all crammed in the room. The pullout couch is only big enough for one person, but it was comfortable, for the most part. I'm used to European hotel rooms being tiny, or large cities like New York where space is a premium, but these rooms were incredibly small.

The property was fine

I just didn’t like that fact that I paid for a queen room with TWO Queen beds but instead I got a Queen room with one queen bed and a sofa bed and it was myself, my 2 children and my mom. The lady at the desk didn’t tell me that they were out of the double queen beds which is what I paid for. We ended up staying but I wasn’t comfortable being that I had to sleep on the sofa bed.

Comfortable, if somewhat smallish room; good water pressure, reliable WiFi, breakfast options with fresh fruit, working A/C, good room climate, enough towels

Bed was slightly saggy on the side where most people sit; location of elevator at the far end is ridiculous: if your room is at the front of the building be prepared for 2 long hikes; Poplar Road currently is a pothole nightmare

Those at front desk were exceptionally nice. All those that worked there, always greeted me. The lady that over breakfast was really nice and eggs were really good. I thought I had booked the motel on Walnut Grove, but so glad I messed up.. this one was much cleaner and bathrooms were really updated. Motel on Walnut Grove had mildew.

Really don’t have any complaints
