Sonesta ES Suites Memphis

I liked the deal I got from Booking.com. The front desk staff are wonderful and made check in and check out a breeze. They seem to be wonderful folks. The room itself was clean and greatly exceeded by expectations.

Google Maps makes you drive around the block to get to the main entrance when there is a direct way in right next to the Exxon on Poplar at Ridgeway which you don't know until you get to the hotel. The check in and check out times on Booking.com (3 PM and 12 PM) were wrong and need to be updated to the 4 PM and 11 AM times. While I didn't want to swim, it would have been bad if I did as the pool was shut down and covered. There's also no continental breakfast as stated on Booking.com. Nothing that can't be fixed by updating information. The only small problem I had with the room itself was the shampoo and body wash dispensers in the bath were empty.

Fast friendly and courteous front desk staff. Stayed at hotel six days. Suite with a full kitchen was clean, had all the utensils in good condition needed for an extended stay. Bed was comfortable with an ample supply of pillows. The hotel was priced reasonably for the amount of days stayed.

Our car was parked in a handicapped space. Although the hotel was fenced and gated, 3 attempted breaking occurred. (no entry gained due anti theft device) Shadows of people around the car and running from the car when the alarms sounded. Checked out early early due to this.

The property is unusual. A bit off the beaten path and it strikes one as somewhat stark. Which could be due to Covid. The $250 deposit for potential smoke and pet exposure is a little unusual. Room was a semi suite with a kitchen sitting area with pull out sofa, which was average, but overall very comfortable. Bedroom has no door separating the rooms but was comfortable. Shower was a little low on water pressure Clean, secure and comfortable. I would like to stay in another property to see the comparison between the two.

My room smelled musty every time I entered it. I even bought some renuzit to try to curb the smell and no luck. Key didn’t work on some exterior doors bathroom wasn’t the cleanest really weird to me but all windows in my room looked out to the lobby. I’m not sure what the building was before it was the hotel, but I would have preferred having no windows than ones that look into the lobby. Just a random comment.

Housekeeping did not clean very well. I went out and brought my own cleaning supplies

Clean quiet and VERY convenient to my doctor visits!

Not very secure parking! Power went out but I know that was not their fault! DM voluntarily offered me a 1 night refund but never followed through! I sleep with cpap and tried sleeping in my car but had a couple of thugs that kept pecking on windows trying to get me to open windows! Finally went back inside and didn’t sleep any!

Matter and short Pros: The room was very sizable and consisted of the things shown when I first considered booking. The room had that feel of a home environment. I am a smoker and had to go outside. I didn't feel threatened at any point, but it's always good to be cautious. Cons: The staff wasn't bad, but they didn't give that welcoming smile. They were straight to the business of getting you to your room. The toilet in my room would slide when you sit down. Not enough channels on the TV for keeping adults or kids entertained. Water got cold during showering. The 250.00 along with your room cost is really a bit much if there is an urgent or sudden trip that hasn't been prepared for hand, but overall, I will book there again.

Several small things

The peace and quiet, the cleanliness of the property, great customer service from the staff.

Friendly service and quiet local. Everything was almost very good for me except, I didn't get a linen change or clean towels during my nine day stay. I didn't ask but I asked there would be fresh linens offered. Otherwise, my stay was damn near perfect!!

Rooms are spacious clean full size kitchen had everything you needed to make a meal baloncy area ; the bed is super comfy location very convenient to restaurants & stores. There is a train that passes but it didn’t bother me one bit Sonesta will definitely be my go stay place to stay..

**Pool was closed 😢 & NO BREAKFAST due to COVID but very understandable **Not many Cable channels **Was not aware of the $250 hold deposit until I arrived and my rate was actually $10 more

Everything was great!! Rooms were small but comfortable. We felt safe and very cozy with our family. Just happy we were able to get away from home for a few days safely.

We didn’t get the full experience due to the pandemic. We really wanted to enjoy the pool. We look forward to having to hot breakfast at the location.
