SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western Alvin

I’m always very leery about picking a hotel in areas I’m not familiar with and we had a bad experience not too long ago at a different hotel so I didn’t have high hopes BUT this hotel was GREAT! I was coming in late and they communicated with me several times, we arrived to the front desk being very nice even at 1:30am, our room was clean (it did have a slight smell but once the AC was on it was fine, the small table to sit at was perfect for our kids, our room was cleaned while we were out that was great to come back to AND an actual real breakfast! Eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy.. toast! Overall I felt safe, it was clean and didn’t worry about my kids being in an area that we had to be too careful. I will book with them again when visiting the area!

Bed was slightly firmer than I like but that’s just my preference

The noises from the doors. I realize it was Saturday night & the kids played in the pool, but they didn’t have to run in & out the outside door every 10 min. & the noise was horrible from it. Our room door also made a terrible noise when you went in & out of it. Just terrible!

Good location right off the highway. Exterior of hotel doesnt look super inspiring but the inside is amazingly clean, decorated, and very welcoming. Front desk staff was very accomadating and professional. Someone was always available if you needed anything. The room was very spacious and had larger appliances than i expected. The best was surprisingly comfortable. The biggest bonus was the full control of the A/C in the room, letting you drop it down to 60's and be cozy while you sleep. Definitely a blessing in the 98 degree humidity of Alvin. Would definitely recommend this hotel for your next stay!

Staff was very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was good. It was a very quiet stay. Facilities are awesome. Hot tub and pool are very clean. Great atmosphere!

Breakfast when a male worker cooked it was sub par bacon was undercooked and gravy was watery. The day the female cooked it was awesome. The male needs to heed her help to improve. Only thing I found that was not thee greatest though! Great staff and stay!

Everything

Smell of the room. room 111 Smelled like smoke when we enter thought it might be because A.C was on low. We put it high. Didn't smell too much when AC temperatures was put down. We got cold and turned it up. We had to keep it cold from smelling the smell of the room. But of over everything else was great.

The room that we were supposed to get was a king . But as soon as we arrived the gentleman at the front desk. Asked if we be able to go up the stairs due to the room would be on the second floor and the hotel had no elevator.. so I said we'll my husband had some medical issues. And he immediately acomadated us on the 1st floor close to the entrance and it was for the same price we had booked. They were very polite and the breakfast food was excellent. And to add to my trip I had packed everything but the kitchen sink .lol just to find out I left my tooth brush. So I went to the front desk and asked the young lady at the front desk.. if they had one for sale and she responded no we don't sell any we give them free. Wow she was so nice. She saved me a trip to the store. After a long drive. Thank you all for taking care of us. During our stay. Thank you for keeping us safe and having such a clean hotel.

Nothing to not like

Staff was nice and very welcoming. Helped out with telling us what was nearby for us to eat or shop. Room was clean and beds were firm but nice. The pool was very clean and felt great.

The only negative thing was the tub being extremely slippery. My toddler and myself had a hard time bathing because of that.

Security Light on outside my room window. Curtains allowed light in because they were not long enough and could not be longer due to AC below window.

Friendly staff. Clean hotel. Nice Texas themed decor. Great location. Room is well furnished. Very quiet and quaint.

There was an awful musty smell in the room and hallway. I have stayed here in the past and it didn’t have this issue. If it wasn’t for the odor this hotel would have exceeded my expectations.

Convenient access and good location with restaurants nearby, pillows were firm and over all it was very comfortable. The jacuzzi was a plus to enhance the relaxation

Talking about the jacuzzi it was some debris and the net to 'fish it out' it was broken. Also I think it was short staffed as the few times we passed across the lobby it seem unattended.
