Sunset Inn and Suites

Lovely place to stay with good facilities and friendly staff. Excellent cafe/ restaurant on site and excellent car parking. It is only a few minutes drive to town centre but its also a very pleasant walk in about 20 -30 minutes. All round excellent value.

Liked everything about the place.

The motel is clean, safe, well appointed, and the woman working in reception was very pleasant. There is a relatively large coffee maker in the room, which came into great use in the morning, and there was a very comfortable desk (and strong Wifi) where I was able to work in the morning as well. I would certainly return if I were again in the area. Across the parking lot was also a terrific and evidently well known and well loved local diner where I had a great breakfast.

One must check in by 9pm, though otherwise there is no other problem.

Sunset Inn is a nice and quiet motel, that seems to be one of the only independent (non-chain) accommodations left. Very friendly host, clean and quaint rooms. Bed was comfortable and overall very good value for the money. The diner next door had a big line on weekends for brunch, which is a good sign (we didn’t have time to try the food).

It’s a motel, so don’t expect 4-star quality beds and amenities, but it has everything we needed for a short stay. It’s a bit of a walk to the small Main Street area of Fredericksburg.

It's a funky hotel, dating from the motor court era. The full-size fridge and two-burner stovetop allowed us to save a little on meals, but they do show their age. One burner stopped working; staff was there quickly to make a simple fix. The sitting area had a nice, modern sofa with chaise, while the bed frame was an antique. Vinyl plank floors were welcome. The husband-and-wife staff (owners?) were friendly, helpful and attentive.

Nothing, really. As they continue with updating, it will just get better.

There were no frills but the room was clean, nice, and had everything that we needed for our stay. Location snd value were great. We had a microwave and fridge and there is a nice restaurant for breakfast next door that was good. Lots of people were there for a yummy breakfast. The rooms are all ground floor that you park right at your door. Sometimes I really love that convenience with luggage and staying for only one or two nights. Everything was great. Would definitely stay here again.

We came to Fredericksburg for our little Christmas get away and enjoyed every bit of it. We weren't near near to Main Street but did drive there - it was only about a mile away - upside too you didn't have to pay to park. We had breakfast at a nearby restaurant which was very good.

What we didn't like was totally our fault and absolutely none with where we stayed. We went on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day thinking there would be touristy things but most all the shops closed at 3 o'clock. Nothing open on Christmas Day. Even tho we didn't plan well we did have a good time.

Location Location Location! Close to downtown & the wineries on 290 but most importantly close to the HEB grocery store. They're renovating the rooms & I got one in transition & it was very nice. Comfortable bed & pillows & I had a great night's sleep.

No complaints, some people might not be in a newer room & that could be off putting but honestly the room was great & the staff was friendly.

The family owned hotel was very friendly and informative. The bed was very comfortable. The room size was perfect. The atmosphere was quiet. I enjoyed my stay here!

I couldn't print a document I needed to in the office but the owner directed me to H.E.B. down the road but they do not print either so I went to Busy Bee just across the street and they printed it for me. This is just FYI!

Check in was quick and pleasant, and check out was just "drop the key in the box" easy. Chris at the front desk was very helpful with local information and quite friendly. The room was fine, the bathroom was clean, and we had a coffee pot with lots of free coffee as well as a refrigerator. The ice machine was working fine, and there was plenty of free parking. The motel is next to a wonderful restaurant for breakfast (Sunset Grill). It was just a few minutes drive to Main Street. Now, keep in mind that this is a value motel and not the Four Seasons - if you want an expensive hotel with fancy gym, business center, and four-star restaurants, then this is not the place for you. If you want an inexpensive, but clean and safe room for a few nights, I recommend this place.

We had no problems. The place met our expectations very well. It does have a very unusual tilt in the middle of the parking lot, which I have never seen before.

It was one of the last properties available for that weekend. it was clean, the bed was reasonably comfortable and the retro appliances were cute.

Only the door handle locked, the coffee they have in the room is Folgers, and the parking was terrible Sunday morning as the grill appears to only be open Sunday and they let restaurant patrons park in the lot for the hotel. My husband had to park next door after going out to get coffee.
