Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites San Antonio - Rivercenter Area, an IHG Hotel

Very nice and clean areas. Hotel looked fairly new. Rooms were very comfortable.

The staff that received was very rude at all times. He seemed to always be upset at something and had a horrible attitude. The pool was a little dirty with debris or rocks at the bottom. The bathtub in room 312 is a little funky. Seems to be patched up, but it definitely feels like if you are going to fall through a hole when showering. Not sure if this is new or not. I don't travel much, but there was no Bible in the room. That was a shocker to me.

definitely the location. very close to the AT&T center and river walk is a couple of blocks away. it felt safe and comfortable and it was clean. the bed and pillows were comfortable. I wish they had complimentary water like most hotels do but they did have a refrigerator and coffee maker in the room. great for a one night trip!

the layout of the bathroom. Its not spacious at all and only one person at a time can be in there. they definitely tried to use every sq inch. the toilet is literally an inch away from the vanity and the door almost touches the vanity when you close it. the bathtub is nice and the rest of the room is spacious, but I just didn’t like the bathroom layout.

I can't say enough good thing about Holiday Inn Expresss Hotel. During our trip to Texas, we stayed at 3 different locations and liked them all. Everything was well-thought from the chexk-in, check-out process (believe or not, it took us less than a minutes!) to the little things like a note. Rooms were very clean and had everything we needed: microwave, fridge, coffee maker, iron and board... Staffs were very friendly and helpful. .. I can go on and on and on and on but try them by youself on your next trip, you'll be glad you did. BTW, the complimentary breakfast was excellent! I make me want to come staying at the hotel just for it I hope my review helps others as previous reviews helped me. Happy travel everyone!

Clean and comfortable room. Nice staff.

This hotel had a shuttle to downtown San Antonio in the past, but they have discontinued the service. So you have to either drive and find a place to park downtown or take a bus/taxi to go to the riverwalk. If the site had indicated that the shuttle was no longer available, I wouldn't have booked the room. Also, there is only 1 elevator, and the hotel has 4 floors, so when they are busy, you might have to wait a while on the elevator.

We enjoyed and were thankful for the cozy bed, our room also had a sofa bed that was separated with a privacy door. Our daughter enjoyed that one! lol

We enjoyed experience at the Hotel, everything was on point. Just had one small issue, the pool had a little bit too much chlorine. other than that we had an awesome time

I loved the space. It was clean, smelled good and the staff was exceptional. Breakfast was good. The room at night was very noisy. The second night was exceptionally LOUD- maybe someone was moving furniture or something? NO SAFE?? There were policemen around which made you feel comfortable, but often you would walk in to an empty lobby and that is always a concern for women traveling alone.

I had No complaints except for the noise on Thurs night.

Breakfast was wonderful, a pleasant surprise because we thought it might be reduced to a minimum because of the pandemic. Breakfast room off the lobby was spacious. Great to have good-sized motel parking lot right outside the front door of the motel. And free parking. We liked our room a lot: comfortable bed, full-length mirror, good shower, good desk and lighting. Everything very clean Staff were courteous and helpful.

A small inconvenience. We like to walk and were about 7 blocks from downtown to where the Riverwalk begins. Took us about 35 minutes. Daytime walking was fine. We walked to downtown and back 6 times, and it would have been 8 times if we had done it at night. But at night it is not a good idea for two older people because a couple of blocks of the route are lined with small stores that had been vacated, likely because of the pandemic. Of course we could have driven downtown and parked there or taken a city bus back and forth, but we didn't want to.

The breakfast was great. Cereals, muffins , egg tacos with cheese, Turkey sausage, and more. The breakfast lady was always checking on the diners to see if we needed more. The desk folks were very helpful esp. Maria with whom I had more contact even though the evening gentleman was just as willing to assist. Maria printed out a sightseeing voucher for me when I could not get it to load to my phone. She called a cab for me on my last day. She talked to me about how she had help to choose colors for the lovely lobby. She clearly wanted me-and the other people I watched her interact with- to enjoy thei stays.

The area where the hotel was didn't have much going although it was close to the Amtrak station which was why i chose it.

Although it appears to be in the process of being updated, I found it to be light, clean and comfortable. The staff was welcoming and helpful. I made a small request at a busy time (Friday afternoon) but was taken care of within 20 minutes. The Breakfast area looked new, was fresh, organized, clean and had a bright feeling. The food was always fresh and plentiful and delicious. One day, there was fluffy scrambled eggs and turkey sausage, another presented egg white and veggie omelets and port sausages. The two ladies that were responsible kept the are clean and were so pleasant and helpful. By the way, the hotel is .9 miles away from the Rivercenter mall and the River Walk!!!

The elevator was slow and could use some updating as far as mechanical. The area is an old area but appears to be in the process of being revitalized. The square on the next block was very charming with updating and a few small shops starting to occupy the buildings.

They had a hot breakfast, which we were thankful for, but the eggs weren't real eggs. The 2nd day they had veggie omelets (yuck) and turkey sausage (yuck). They didn't have a waffle maker or pancakes, and we were really hoping they would. At least they had other options, such as mini muffins, instant oatmeal, bananas to eat. Only 1 elevator for the whole hotel. Wait times were long once or twice during 3 day stay.
