Hampton Inn & Suites Waco-South

They were able to accommodate us after their neighbor hotel cancelled our reservation due to overbooking which was done via voicemail. The staff were all very friendly, the rooms were clean, the property appeared well maintained, and the breakfast was excellent. It was an excellent value and great hotel. They also offer free necessity items if you forget to pack your own.

The only complaint I have is their signs indicate vending and ice machines in locations and their were only ice machines. They did have a “store” available near the counter.

Comfort and the Whirlpool

A roach in the bathtub in the morning, which I washed down the drain! **After staying 2 nights, I decided to stay again for 1 more night. **When getting Rm 131, I noticed in the bathroom another small critter, and I trapped it with putting the trash can on top of it!! Needless to say, the place needs to be Exterminated!! The other thing noticed was No drinking cups in the bathrooms for when finishing brushing teeth! I had to use a Coffee cup ☕!! *Most hotels supply cups in the bathrooms. Thanks.

Steve at the desk was exceptional!! He provided everything we needed in a very fast manner

Didn't like the fact that the pool was closed due to the dehumidifier not working. This should have been stated somewhere in the booking process.

A warm room with running water. but the beds were not comfortable I tossed and turned all night. There was no warm breakfast other than cereal but I don't eat cereal. I had to fend for myself and did not find anything close-by opened up to eat a decent meal. had to travel 10miles or so. But the kind lady at front desk (Erica) explained everything to me and so I understood completely why she couldn't supply the guests with a warm meal. Totally. Other than that I am enjoying my stay here. Oh you should give Erica a BIG Raise because she is having to wear so many hats Right Now (and with a BIG SMILE On Her Face, which I ENJOYED Very Much) trying to keep everybody happy, she even loaned out her own brick/charger to a customer so that she could charge up her phone, and then she had to carry a 40lb bags (two of them!) of salt and sprinkle it on the front and back sidewalk (I offered to help but she kindly turned me down) You need to provide more help for this little lady who hasn't stopped working since we first checked in. And then either her or the maintenance man braved the terrible ice roads just to pick up two workers who were willing to come to work , to clean up the rooms for the guests! Now that's what I call: Loyalty To A Fault! A raise after all of this is done would be the least this little lady deserves! The great location. The pool and hot tub. The beds and pillows were comfortable. You could smell the clean when you entered the room. The breakfast was delicious and had a good selection. Everyone was friendly throughout the stay. They had a snack room where you could get extra snacks.

The only thing was the coffee maker in the room didn’t work but they had one always going downstairs.

The room was clean. It was easy to check in. Sheila who served the breakfast in the mornings was very pleasant and kind.

A hot breakfast is advertised, but the breakfast options fell very short of that, and one morning when we came down to eat, there were not breakfast options and we were told "we're out". The pool and hot tub were closed completely. I understand there are COVID precautions, however, it's odd that at another hotel in the city the pool and hot tub are open, but not here.

pool was not working one reason we picked it was pool for eight year olds birthday that was a bust for her if I had been told the pool was down would have changed to another place

Front desk staff (Dennis and Chris) were very friendly, helpful and got us to our rooms quickly. What we needed after a long day of moving. Cristina, who cleaned the room, did a very good job! Could smell and see the clean.

Overall appearance, nice staff, comfortable bed & price! Staff were nice. Room very comfortable. Would definitely recommend this property and will stay there if back in the area.

Only thing I didn’t care for was the mold in the grout and also on the shower wall where the water hit it. I also shared with front desk before I left that the light above the sink needed replacement bulb(s).

Clean, friendly staff, nice looking lobby. Would stay again. Breakfast was offered and coffee in lobby was good.

Jacuzzi tub was a little dirty when used, elevators sounded “off” when riding in them. Made us nervous at first but we got used to it.
