Aspen at Manchester

Aspen is a quaint, no frills motel in a perfect location to access all of Manchester's sites. We were in a separate cottage at the back side of the property. Aside from a couple cobwebs (the cottage is lined by woods) the room was very clean. The gentleman in the office was very outgoing and made us feel at home. The pool was very clean. The continental breakfast offered all the essentials. I would definitely recommend the Aspen to anyone looking for rustic charm and killer views of the Taconic mountains!

The driveway to the back cottage wasn't paved and full of mud puddles. My car's a mess, but still worth a stay!

brilliant location right in historical part of old town. beautiful building and nicely decorated apartment. I had been worried about some reviewers mentioning a basement apartment, but ours was on the 4th floor, and had great natural light. comfortable beds. we didn’t have any trouble accessing the a apartment

felt a bit expensive, but that might have been because of us booking late. booked for two adults and a toddler, but had only two sets of towels provided. some of the decor was not functional- record/music player in room without an electrical cable

The breakfast was very simple. Just a few packaged pastries and cereals. Nothing special or fancy. But there are so many cute spots in Manchester to have a coffee or a breakfast that it really didn’t matter.

There was no USB port where I could plug in my phone without a plug. I am used to being hotels where you have the option of plugging in a USB to charge your phone or use a plug so I forgot to bring my plug to charge my phone.

Great option for quick Ski weekend for nearby ski resorts or on the way to resorts further north. Stayed 3 times over the 2020-21 ski season, over long holiday weekends as well as quick overnight stay as we passing by Stratton on the way further up Vermont. Best value in the area. Room is clean and great shower after a day of ski. It's nothing fancy, but you get all you need. Manchester has some good food options. For the colder ski days, just get drink/dinner takeout (due to Covid) and head back to the motel to eat. For the warmer spring ski days, we sat outside by the picnic grill and had our takeout and beer while get some extra sunshine.

Wifi can be slow or weak depending on your room location and if others were also using. There were nights we were able to stream movie and others we couldn't load email. So hit or miss, but you get cell signal so no issue to just access what you need from your phone. Wifi didn't stop us from going back again because of the $ value.

We only stayed one night and got there after the office closed so I didn't really talk to the staff. The owner/desk clerk just met me at the door long enough to hand me the key. The room was very clean! The motel room was large so you didn't feel cramped. They have chairs outside of each room so we could sit outside for a while to relax The beds were super clean and comfortable with plenty of pillows. Unfortunately, they didn't have any continental breakfast going on because of COVID but that's not their fault. There are nice little places in town for breakfast. All in all, this is a nice place to stay.

The location to the Manchester Center was perfect. A mile walk to. The Aspen was also located close to two areas which visited Emerald Lake and Lake Lowell. A short drive to each. Grab and go breakfast was perfect and the area was very quite at night. Would stay gain if we return to the area.

Breakfast was fair. Location was perfect. The room was clean. The air conditioner worked.

The shower in the handicap accessible room did not work well. The finder’s fee collected by Booking.com was exorbitantly high compared to the actual price of the room.

Room clean and comfortable. Bagel and yogurt good at breakfast. We lost our room key. (Later found it an mailed it back.) Fortunately staff was there to let us in, and they were very nice about it.

Everything was fine except they really could expand on their breakfast and Ice Maker was “out of order” while we were there. Nice comfy room. Nice to have vehicle right outside door.

Our room was set back from the road, quiet and comfortable. The grab-and-go breakfast was good.

The floor covering in our room creaked when we walked on it. The shower cubicle needed a shelf to put shampoo etc. on.
