A superb stay at this lovely LGBT-friendly motel in gorgeous Vermont during late September. A lot of love has gone into this motel and it shows - from the warm cinnamon welcome in the lobby to the exceptionally clean and tidy room. My mum and I stayed in the yellow sunflower room; a double with 2 big comfy beds and an ensuite bathroom (with toilet, sink and shower) and views overlooking the pretty front and back gardens - had the weather been better, we'd have been out there in the chairs soaking up the view! Our room had the self-catering essentials (fridge & microwave) along with a few complimentary snacks. Shelly was lovely to chat with and very helpful in recommending local eateries, supermarkets, and sightseeing - we initially came for the Robert Frost house but she suggested Hildene when we checked out (which we did visit and were thoroughly impressed by!) My mum and I slept brilliantly and despite being on historic route 7a, there was zero road noise. We stayed in several big name hotels during our holiday, and can honestly say that Governor's Rock Motel was one of the best stays of all! Nothing was too much trouble; comfort, cleanliness and friendliness was a major plus. An exceptional motel, would definitely return!! Thank you Shelly & Lisa for a fantastic stay 😊

Cannot fault a thing!

The room was spacious, comfortable, nicely decorated, and very clean. The queen bed was very comfortable and there were two comfy chairs. The air conditioner was new, and although I didn't need it on this trip, it looked large enough to handle any hot weather. The many windows and screens provided plenty of cross-ventilation and fresh air. I especially liked the adjustable pull-down pleated shade on the large center window. There were two small patio chairs and a table just outside the room, perfect for just sitting in the morning or evening, or for working on a laptop. The grounds looked nice and well-maintained. The owner was polite and helpful. I will definitely be staying here again!

Some of the screens had small tears. They should be repaired or replaced.

The rooms had open space to move around in or to have a dog in. They also had a nice front yard with chairs and a fire pit. The motel also had dog toys and dog bags in case if you took your 4-legged companion on a walk or give him some exercise.

The only thing I didn't like was the size of the shower. Every time when I had to bend down, I had to be careful to not hit my head on the side. If you are a plus size person, even though I would still recommend the room, I would not recommend using the shower.

Our room was very clean, an easy access from the road, and a wonderful gift snack basket waiting for us. We were very happy yo have a mini fridge with a freezer, and also a coffee pot.

Besides an outlet in the bathroom, there were only two other electrical outlets. Therefore, there were extension cords plugged into extension cords. We had 2 CPap machines, plus our phone, watch an iPad chargers.

The hotel was out in the country on a little used main road. The accommodations met all my requirements. There were little touches that you don't get staying in a chain hotel.

The hotel website showed the per night rate but I was not able to get the rate and was told to use Booking.com. The rate was $22 more per night using booking.com vs. what the hotel website said.

Even though I arrived late, the checkin was quick and easy. With lots of chocolate on the counter. Then there was an amazing basket of goodies in my room: Salty! Sweet! You name it, it was in there and it was welcome after my drive. There's also a microwave and fridge for people who like to warm up their own food. The shower was hot, the bed was comfy, and there is a great view of the mountains from your front porch chair.

(probably been taken care of by now, but just in case-) My refrigerator needed defrosting. Other than that, I was a completely happy camper.

Nice location .Pretty yard and huge backyard along a quiet forest . Parking was not crowded . Furniture ( maple dresser and old fashion chair reminded me why we’re moving back to New England .

Nothing , door stuck which is minor but we prob woke up our elderly neighbors after a late dinner (:

There was no breakfast which is fine, just wish there was a Dunkin's close by. However there were bottles of water in the refrigerator, a coffee maker and a basket with snacks which was a nice touch!

The mattress was a little too soft compared to our mattress at home.

Really surprised how clean the room was an smelled freshly cleaned. Also that we had a treat basked filled with candy, crackers an popcorn. They also had for the in room coffee pot folgers an Maxwell house! Quiet peaceful area but yet close to everything. Lots of towels an even asked an was given a hairdryer that I forgot. Would for sure stay here again in the future!

The only complaint would be the shower size an the lack of control of the hot water, just about burned me when suddenly got extremely hot!

Cozy room, clean and nice location. Staff was very accommodating and pleasant. Reasonably priced

Unfortunately there was one group very noisy in room one that was beside my brothers room two. He and wife didn't sleep well with the other room having tv very early in the am and they were a noisy group. No fault of the proprietor but unfortunate.
