This place was really nice. The staff was very polite and did all that could be expected of them… And did so pleasantly. Although certain areas appeared to be fairly old, everything had been refurbished and had all of the appearances of a new building, unless you really examined specific areas very closely. The one-bedroom unit that we had was oceanfront with a balcony coming off of the bedroom sliding doors. It had a very shallow kiddie pool and a separate, deeper adult pool to cool off. There was also a Tiki Bar in the pool area for drinks and light food (i.e. nachos etc.). The location of the facility was outstanding – right on the "boardwalk" (it is actually cement but nice). Pool and beach towels were free, as was in-room WIFI and parking. Although perhaps more attributable to our being overworked prior to the vacation, we could not have had a more relaxing and comfortable stay. Highly recommends this place.

The ONLY "negative" that comes to mind (and I really needed to think long and hard to come up with anything negative) is that sitting by the pool becomes shaded fairly early in the afternoon, being in the shade of the hotel building. That could be because it was so late in the season (after Labor Day), and I think that was probably true for all of the hotels on the Boardwalk.

You were able to walk anywhere within a good distance, you needed to. Our other cheerleaders were not so far away in their own hotels. Good service. Awesome heated pool(s) - we used both indoor and outdoor. Great parking garage. Great location, no matter where we needed to go.

The Jacuzzi tub in the room didn’t work - that was one of my sons favorite thing about the room, and we were unable to use it for the duration of the stay. Also, that I felt like I was made to be dumb that I booked via booking.com because the display said balcony, but the hotel had us as no balcony. It was my sons first time EVER being in a hotel, or in Virginia Beach & it was disappointing. He’s had cancer twice, and was finally able to travel and join at the cheer comp.

Very friendly people and staff. Nice location within walking distance to many restaurants and shops.

The outdoor pool was too small for the size of the resort. The TV service needs updated. No movie apps or movie channels at all.

Loved the staff, there was only one guy working that night and he did an excellent job. I went downstairs to the concierge that's three times in one night and he was very patient. It took some time to get the things I was asking for ie extra blanket extra pillows extra towels Etc but he explained to me you were understaffed and that there was very few of you working tonight and that he appreciated my patience. I noticed him working again the following day and he still had that same smile on his face and that same bright positive attitude he made my experience and my stay all the more better. The suggested places to go also came from the front desk was delightful. I loved the opportunity to hear more about timeshare and the opportunity to learn. Loved the swim at your oen risk signs everywhere near the pools. The fact that there were multiple heated pools was amazing because I went when it was cold and rainy and windy.

The fact that the Marriott was understaffed shocked me. It took over 4 hours to get the things I asked for that night, blankets pillows towels. Although it was a very long wait they managed to bring every single thing I asked for and did not leave anything out. I appreciated the cleanliness of the bathroom and the bedroom and even the patio however there was only one trash can in our room and it got filled very quickly also for the amount of money I paid I was expecting to have a couch inside the room instead of a table and two chairs because we had a table and two chairs on the patio so I felt like that was Overkill. The water pressure in the shower was absolutely ridiculous. It hurt every time to take a shower because the water pressure was too high.

Check-in was a breeze. Very friendly person at the counter that gave restaurant recommendations. The room was huge. We did have an issue with the first room, it seemed like someone prior to us smoked and the smell stunk up the bedroom and the curtains but when I told the front desk, they promptly moved us into a much better smelling room. The kitchen was fully stocked with every utensil we could need. The location was excellent, right on the boardwalk, the beach was clean and the free small beach chairs for rent were a bonus. We loved the pools even though they were very crowded. It was easy to get in and out of the hotel as there was loading right out front. Random, but the hairdryers were the best hotel hairdryers I've ever used.

The first room not only smelled horrible but when I inspected the floor, I found a loose screw in the common area and cheetos under the bed in the bedroom. My husband ordered fish tacos from the pool bar and got very sick. Suggestions - It would have been nice to have ice on every floor as opposed to every other floor. The elevators closed too fast, especially when trying to load in with a stroller, it would have been nice to have a few extra seconds.

Room was set up very nice. I loved the view of the ocean. The comfort to get from one location to another was very easy. The staff was very helpful and had great customer service.

The only thing that I didn't like was the check in process ... trying to park .. the parking area that is used to park your car and check in then unload your vehicle and take luggage to your room, because the parking area was not on premises but across the street. This caused a backup with traffic trying to park to check in.

We really liked the heated pools and the adult only pool area. The property was clean and well kept. We did like that the bed was next to the window, so we could lay in the bed and see the ocean.

The queen size bed was not a queen. It was more the size of a double bed. The room was really small and the air conditioning unit as a result was right on top of the bed. It made sleeping uncomfortable in regards to temperature control. The bathtub was extremely high and hard to step in and out of and there was no handrail for safety.

The room was, well, roomy! Plenty of space to move around, & so nice and clean! The towels & linens were luxe, really nice, & the bed is so comfy, I loved the pillows! Having a kitchenette is great! Stocked with tableware, utensils, a toaster, everything we needed, along with a microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, toaster. The bathroom was wonderful, I love that deep soaking tub & the shower head was awesome! Fantastic water pressure, as well. I upgraded from city view to oceanfront and having the balcony made all the difference! Aqua21 is the best part; the infinity pool, hot tub, & fire pit area (while technically part of Oceanaire, still available for Beach Club guests use) is where we spent much of our time. It's great to get away from other people's children. Having an on-site Tiki bar & restaurant - Tortugas - was a bonus. The common areas were well maintained & clean. There were great activities planned & there were adorable Easter egg hunts (with The Bunny!) while we were there. ALL of the staff we encountered were so helpful, they were friendly, genuinely interested in helping no matter what we needed. Leigh Ann on the front desk was great! The bar tender at the Tiki bar was fun, pleasant, & she had a great personality! Parking is across the street in a deck & I noticed a security guard patrolling there so I didn't worry about my vehicle at all. Good value for my money, this is my second stay at a Diamond property & I will return. Indoor/outdoor pool areas were clean, very nicely maintained. Beach towels were provided & they were wonderful! All in all? A great place to stay! We will be back!

The main thing I did not like was the inability to access the "high speed internet" in the room or on the property. Three trips to the front desk, many different attempts; at one point the only place I was able to use it was the hotel lobby. I was given a phone number to call for tech assistance & it was finally resolved, but not until my last day of my stay. Once I was set up, it was smooth sailing from that point on. Also, at night there were some extremely loud & rude grown men in the pool, I felt they should have been asked to leave due to the language used & their actions. We were on the 6th floor & could hear them as clearly as if we were poolside. Not cool.
