Hilton Garden Inn Virginia Beach Oceanfront

This hotel is close to everything and right on the beach. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

You have to park in a garage a block or so away, but they do offer valet. The concierge trying to sign you up for a time share presentation.

Pros- the hotel has been recently innovated. You can smell the new carpet in the halls, rooms were visually clean. Every room is ocean view making each morning a wonderful wake up. Front desk staff are extremely pleasant. Valet was amazing. It's worth the $16. Close proximity to shopping, restaurants and activities. Restaurants in the hotel were amazing especially breakfast. Not sure who the male hostess in the breakfast restaurant is but he's amazing. Had a small issue with one staff in the restaurant but it was resolved and she aplogized. Our first night the water in the shower was cold, we called downstairs and it was fixed within 10 mins. The day we were leaving it was cold again. We stayed 5 days and asked for clean linen bc it felt like sand was in the bed. The cleaning lady came later in the evening and seemed to have an attitude when she came in. Our room was supposed to have been cleaned while we were out but they came when we returned. I picked up (bc my husband was supposed to while I ran out🤦🏽‍♀️) so they only had to change linen. I think she was upset we were in the room our asked for linen. There was mold on the bathroom shower wall on day one so I went Wal-Mart got cleaning supplies and scrubbed the entire bathroom. No big deal everyone doesn't clean the same, BUT I will say i did the Clorox wipe test and the floors weren't dirty just sandy from the beach.

The cleaning team was NOT friendly at all. There is a language barrier. We asked for clean towels daily and cleaning of the room every other day and the 2 ladies we got had attitudes. The front desk did inform us at check-in that you have to request room cleaning. We didn't care what time as long as it was cleaned.

The rooms was good, the Resturant was awesome!

The balcony was small, you had to put a towel down in the floor cause the water from the shower would leak out, and the sink water never got hot! Parking across the street was a hassle, our parking pass didn’t work one day, well called over and told them and nobody came, we had to be at a game so I had to pay $20 to get out, I figured they didn’t charge me for that day, but when I got the bill they did! So keep and eye out on the parking passes!

The room was very nice. We loved the "hardwood" floors - so much better than carpet, and MUCH appreciated by an asthmatic. The bed itself was comfortable, foam pillows would be nice. The shower head was great. The 0% shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand soap, face soap, lotion, etc were amazing. Front desk was always professional and friendly, willing to assist you.

The bathroom sink faucet sprays your clothing when you use it. The heater was LOUD - we asked the front desk to check it for us, and they did, but still was a bit loud. No timer for the TV. The refrigerator had a whine to it as well. You have to park across the street and half a block up, the charge was $10/day. Why not include this with your stay instead of additional charges? While not the hotel's fault, helicopters went up & down the beach from 4am to 6am, and then the jets. F/A 18's and such. OMG All night long.

Awesome location and amenities. Hotel was clean and beds were comfortable. We had such a great view from our balcony! I only wish we could have stayed longer. Would love to visit during warmer weather as well.

There was confusion about my booking upon check-in. My credit card was supposed to be charged and room paid for before I arrived. The front desk said it had not been paid even though my credit card said it had (and my card would not accept the duplicate charge for such a large amount). Front desk staff just gave me a toll-free number to call, saying they couldn't do anything. The customer service representative at the number they gave me was extremely unhelpful and kept referring me back to the front desk staff. I felt like the on site staff could have been more helpful, especially after I explained that I had just driven 9 hours to get there!

The breakfast was great, the breakfast room was in a great location the employees were e tremendously nice

Too many dogs in and out of the breakfast areas. The dogs was all over the hotel,like it was a doggie inn

I didn't like the room I loved it. Every morning we watched the sun rise on the balcony. We also saw dolphins swimming by. An amazing sight.

I did not like that house keeping did not give us clean towels everyday. Quincy the night manager gave us clean towels so we could take showers in the morning. Also the room needed to be swept daily because of the sand they only came 1 day and emptied the trash too. I understand the hotel is understaffed but I'm paying top dollar for that room and should have been cleaned at least every other day. Also the air condition vents were so dirty and so was the tracks for the sliding door. I was going to sweep it myself but did not have a broom.

Location is great since it's on the quieter end of the strip. Love the fruit infused water and the chairs facing the beach. Also, they have complimentary parking.

Hilton didn't have my reservation when I arrived. They blamed Booking.com for not pushing the reservation over. They found a room but it was on the sundeck floor which meant a tiny little balcony and noise. At least I got my ocean view. Seems like a nice hotel but not the way to start a vacation. Also, They didn't clean the fan in the bathroom. It was full of dust. Not good considering they make a big deal about cleaning.

The location was excellent. But, we went out for breakfast.

One of our pillowcases was dirty. I presented pictures of the problem areas.

The garden grille breakfast staff was amazing. Lovely people ❤️ so energetic and a great way to start the morning.

We had a king suite room. It was lovely except there was a package of peaches that looks like they've been sitting in between the wall and fridge for a whiiiiiiiile. It was one of those little plastic cups and it was black it had been there so long. Pretty gross...
