Budget Inn near WestRock

The Budget Inn was well within my expectations, The management not only met my needs but went far above and over. In this world we are in it is so nice to know there are compassionate people still around. I had rented the room for my daughter who was caught in a situation where she was there with no money, no phone, nothing, and no way to get home. While at their Inn, they offered to help her with a ride to the nearest Amtrak, and a means for me to assist her on her way. They did not have to do this, they chose to do this. I will travel to Covington one day just to meet them. If you are ever in the area, please choose the Budget Inn.

Everything was over and above

The room was extremely clean and the bed was one of the most comfortable motel beds that I've slept on. The staff was smiling and appeared happy.

The room is dated and very small, two people at best. But in saying that, the good far out weighed the bad and I would (will) stay there again if I'm in Covington on business.

Clean and comfortable near a river park at an affordable price. Owner very friendly and helpful about nearby hiking trails and restaurants. Benches to sit on outside rooms.

All good! Small rooms but well-maintained. Sign displayed is different from operating name but includes “Budget”.

This small older hotel is locally owned and operated by Mr. Pat (the manager) and his wonderful family who were all very friendly and helpful. It is right off route 60 and backs up to the scenic Jackson River which has a picnic/park area just a short walk away. Mr. Pat greeted us with a smile immediately after we arrived in the parking lot which made us feel welcome and comfortable. The room was affordable (compared to others), clean and ready ahead of time which made for a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. The furnishings were older vintage but were all in good condition. Mr. Pat is interesting to talk to and has a good sense of humor. You can tell that he and his family genuinely care about their customers and community. We also recommend having lunch at the James Burke House eatery which is a very short walk across the hotel parking lot. If you're looking in the Covington/Lewisburg area for a simple, no frills, clean, convenient, safe and affordable place to stay with impeccable service, this is your place. This will certainly be our hotel for future trips to the area as long as Mr. Pat is still there. Forget the big hotel chains, support local businesses like Mr. Pat's budget hotel!

We stay at this location often. The owners are the best and we look forward to seeing them each time we stay. It is in a great location in Covington and everything is clean and comfortable.

We bring extra pillows when we stay because we like two each, Nothing is new, but we are ok with that.

Room was pleasant, clean and well kept. Owner and family were very helpful and willing to listen and chat. Everything in the room worked well. Good water pressure on showers and air conditioner kept the room cool. We took a walk to see the river and it is a nice walk in a quiet and clean town. Mr Pratap, the owner had good suggestions where to eat and how to get there (easy directions). It was a great stay for us. Would highly recommend to try this place. Will stay again if we go that way. I was expecting a package from Amazon the day I was planning to stay at Budget Inn. So, the day before leaving, I called the front desk and was told, they will be happy to keep the package if I forward it to their address. So, I changed the delivery address on Amazon, but Amazon informed me last minute that the package will be delivered a day after, so I had to forward it to the next hotel we were going. When we arrived at the Budget Inn, after the registration done, I was surprised when the owner asked me whether the Amazon packet is coming that day. I would not have mentioned about Amazon, as in most places the front desk Staff will only answer if you ask them. It showed me how attentive this place was for their guests. I did tell him that the delivery was delayed and I forwarded it to my next destination. We had a nice chat with the owner and the family after we came back from dinner and the owner offered us some Indian style tea. It was very welcome, as we could not get it anywhere around there. We appreciate their friendliness and great service and wish them a vey successful year !!

I could not think of anything

Nice basic room for a reasonable price. The outside and parking area is very well lit. Within walking distance of downtown restaurants. Owner was a nice guy and fun to talk with.

Only 2 nit picks. Room 26 the tub drained slow during showers and the TV remote may have had dead batteries. But neither would be a deal breaker in the future.

It's a small, old fashioned motel right on the Jackson River and right on the edge of Covington's historic district. We had come to the Allegheny Highlands to float the beautiful Jackson River and the motel location couldn't be beat. As we had canoes and kayaks on our vehicles we felt safe with them right outside our rooms. The warm, close-knit knit family who own and operate the place are present, helpful and engaging. We enjoyed visiting with them. We could easily walk to several good restaurants. We didn't want fancy - just a clean, comfortable, safe place at a good price and this fulfilled our expectations. Would stay again and recommend it.

No real negatives. The town is a mill town with a large, still working paper mill plant right across the river from the back of the motel - but this created no issues, was not noisy, and since the motel rooms all orient towards the heart of town we were hardly aware of the plant.

I made reservations for our room days in advance; and we ended up being waylaid due to car troubles. The owner of the Inn went above and beyond, staying past office hours. He waited for us; so that we would have a place to stay. I was so impressed that he was willing to go above and beyond for his guests! The room was clean and comfortable: and the staff was very friendly!! Don’t let the older amenities deter you. I have paid a lot more in fancier hotels for much less service!!

The owner/manager was terrific. He was very pleasant and helpful. The room was old-fashioned, but very clean and comfortable, which was our main requirement.

There were police onsite when we arrived, which didn't give us a good vibe, but the manager explained the situation, gave us the option of not staying, and we chose to stay after checking the room.
