Tulip Inn Mount Vernon

I was super pleasantly surprised by the quality of the rooms, building and parking lot because this is one of the cheaper, lower end motels in the area. Ive stayed at the quality inn next door and the other handful of nearby hotel/motel choices but never the Tulip Inn. For some reason I had preconceived notions about the place and thought I knew what it looked like and exactly where it was located but NOPE! I was either confusing it with a different place or simply just mistaken. I booked a same day 2-bed queen room via booking.com for $105 and paid online. Fully expected to have to pay a deposit upon arrival but they didn't ask me to or put a credit card on file. I ended up booking another night and would have happily stayed longer if the place wasn't fully booked already up for the weekend. Staff was accommodating and friendly, even let me borrow a charger for my phone for a few hours. In summary, this motel is the best overall option over comparably priced/located competitors.

The "breakfast" was practically non-existent, might as well just not offer it as an amenity at all. The set up was just a counter with a mini fridge consisting of half n half, orange juice🍊 and bottled water in front desk area/lobby. Oh and drip coffee thermos + sugar packets. I also didnt appreciate the staff accusing us of smoking and I quote, "i dont know what but you were smoking something in here". I smoked 2 ciggs outside in the designated smoking area the entire two days that I stayed there. Luckily I remembered that we had a couple candles going throughout the night until morning and the holders were still warm to the touch. I showed them that and they sheepishly retired the subject and didn't charge me for smoking damages.

The location was perfect and the people were very gracious.

The housekeeping could have been better, especially for a six day stay. A box of kleenex in the room would have been nice as well.

The ladies at the front desk were very kind and helpful. They gave us the last first floor room which was very appreciated. The room was clean and comfortable. It was a pleasant little motel

The parking down at the corner of where the 2 buildings meet was a bit awkward. If you weren't careful you could have been blocked in because of where the spaces met. We could have used a few more plugs to hook up our electronics. Breakfast was grab and go.

Location. Local shops across the road, so very convenient.

Unwelcoming. On check in we felt that the guy really doesn’t like his job, no smile, nothing, just very matter of fact. Same thing in the morning with the woman, when we asked for some soap as it had been forgotten, and the breakfast. It was like we shouldn’t have the audacity to ask. Not a pleasant experience.

The beds are pretty comfortable. The staff did work with us concerning the distance we had to walk to the office for breakfast, they allowed us to pick up the night before and store it in our room.

Our room was very far from the office and we requested to be as close as possible as we have disabilities.

Friendly and helpful staff. Clean for a budget room. Nice table and chairs in the smoking area.

A little scruffy on some finishes in the room. Out dated tub, microwave etc. Nothing major though. Tight parking for bigger vehicles.

Everything! The location was pretty good. We couldn't get a place closer to cascade mountains so we stayed here. But happy we did bc it was a great location. Close to a hwy, about 1.5 hr drive to cascades and in front of a Walmart so we can buy food and supplies for our hikes. Place was clean, beds were comfy and parking was plenty.

Plenty of nice soft towels Bright lights in the bathroom Fridge was very cold They were very nice when I locked both room keys in the room. And reprogrammed my room keys after I had them in my pocket with my phone and deactivated them.

My babies had black feet after running back and forth thru the room. There was no do not disturb sign to put on the door.

They booked us into a room with cigarette smoke odor which was wrong because you can't cover up that scent. You need to wash the walls. But they changed us to a fresh non-smoking room which was pleasant to do. Also though traffic was heavy outside the room was quiet.

The check-in was very easy! The staff was very kind and helpful. The hotel is on a main road, so I was concerned that it might be loud at night, but by 9pm there was no traffic so it was quiet. There were many restaurant options within a mile and the room was clean and had everything I needed! I stayed with my dog and he was welcomed with just a small pet fee. We will definitely be staying here in the future!
