Best Western Plus Oak Harbor Hotel and Conference Center

Their free breakfast is really, really good! It's not just the basic continental breakfast....each day they have different hot options like biscuits/gravy and omelettes, etc. along with waffle station, etc. They even had small ammenities like a black make-up washcloth so you don't stain their white ones...LOL. But what I fell in love with was the staff...Melody, Deborah, front desk, and I can't remember her name but the sweetest employee who worked during breakfast and complimented me on my clothes and smile every morning. When we were there, the employees were wearing a Mental Health shirt that advocated for support and acceptance and they also had an LBGTQ+ shirt that they wore to show acceptance for all people. There is a banner in the lobby that also speaks to inclusivity for all. The employees raved about how amazing management was and how much they loved working there...it was so sincere and a common theme that people loved working under the current owner and especially the current manager...they said they loved her! Smiles, smiles everywhere...even the housekeepers wore adorable lavendar colored scrubs and were smiling and happy. I also found (by accident) a secluded, fenced in area behind the hotel with lounge chairs and away from the pool where it was quiet and secluded...super cool so go find it! There's also a great area behind the hotel for walking your dogs (or in our case our Sphynx cat...LOL). For a franchise establishment, I was really impressed. I'd go back just to see the staff again...they are the heart and energy of you stay!

Clean rooms, friendly staff

Very disappointed in the amount of plastic used in the breakfast room and that there was no recycling of used items. In today’s world with climate change and growing piles of plastic in the sea and elsewhere, everyone and more importantly corporations, need to be environmentally aware and actively providing the ability for clients to recycle.

Location, room size, friendly staff

We booked king suite and paid higher price but they put us in 2 queen room (which we could of paid less for) and when I let her know her response was that was what they had left due to us having a service dog and they like to keep all dogs on bottom floor incase guests have allergies which was fine. I just feel that we should of gotten the price difference back. Other then that all else was great.

Breakfast was good, and the attendants were friendly.

If I stay there again, i will ask for a room a little farther away from the card accessed door and the lobby--sometimes we could hear the door slamming, and customer's voices at the desk were sometimes loud. Fortunately we weren't disturbed at night.

This is the first hotel in a long time that gave us enough towels. We opted in for cleaning service, basically really we just wanted them to refresh our towels and stuff... it never happened but it was never needed anyway because we had enough. We brought our own shower soap, so only having one bar soap was ok. :)

Not much to not like. Best westerns are hit and miss most of the time. This one was a hit. Couple little cleaning issues but nothing major. The staff was friendly. It was close to a ton of stuff too like restaurants and some other little stores.

Friendliness, Location, ample parking, double queen rooms are comfortable and accommodating

I wish we could have had a 2BDR suite or adjoining rooms. It was a bit lopsided with 4 guests in one and 1 in the second room.

It was very well kept, good location and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast was had a good variety and complimentary water and coffee in the lobby. We really enjoyed our stay which was for 5 nights and the rooms were large and beds comfortable

My whole family agreed that it was the best free hotel breakfast we've ever had. Many options and everything was tasty. Every single staff member was friendly and helpful. My husband also left his laptop bag at the pet area, and when he realized it - after we'd left and driven almost 2 hours ! - he called and was relieved to hear that the groundskeeper had found it and the front desk was holding it. THANK YOU!!!!!

There wasn't anything that didn't meet it expectations.

In Oak Harbor for a class picnic (class of ‘64)-convenient and close to activities; plenty of restaurants in the immediate area. Decent breakfast included with stay

Carpet felt damp. Difficult to regulate room temperature

The location is convenient, the site is nice and well maintained. They offer a continental breakfast that is larger than most places offer. The rooms are spacious too and we got a free upgrade to a suite for becoming a rewards member

The beds were a little too soft for our liking. My husband and i both woke up a little sore
