Cobblestone Hotel & Suites - Janesville

In general, Cobblestone was very good and I would recommend it. For the most part, it exceeded my expectations and was a very good value.

Upon returning to my room after being gone all day, I found the door unlocked & open due to a deployed dead bolt that housekeeping did not disengage after cleaning the room. My room was left open for at least 6-8 hours, if not more. I understand that things happen, but this is thoroughly unacceptable. It's just fortunate that I did not have valuables in the room and that all of the personal belongings appeared untouched. Also, during this same housekeeping, the garbage was not emptied and the coffee station was not cleaned/restocked. One other point of some dissatisfaction is that regarding breakfast, the coffee station is located out in the hall, rather than in the breakfast room with the food. Just kind of inconvenient.

The hotel is really new and is a very good value. Much better location in Janesville than staying at comparable hotels which are located near the freeway; Cobblestone's downtown location is much better for my purposes.

The only thing that I don't like, which it out of the hotel's control, are the clouds of bugs outside that I suspect are generated by the adjacent Rock River.

I booked the King Suite for one night. Separate bedroom and living room areas was nice. Big comfy King bed with lots of pillows. Large fridge, sink and two-burner cooktop. Views of the downtown from the windows. This is the only hotel that I am aware of that is right downtown Janesville close to all the best bars, restaurants and shops this cute little town has to offer. I would happily return.

Liked everything

The room was perfect for our family of five as we were in town for a family wedding. We loved the daily breakfast, excellent coffee both in the room and downstairs, and the kids loved the pool. The room was very clean, beds were very comfortable, and the location right on the river was wonderful…enjoyed a beautiful walk and hike on an ice age trail right from the hotel. Very happy and would definitely stay here again.

The amazibg staff that found us a room for us since my original reservation didn't exist

I didn't like the fact that I booked this reservation many weeks in advance, had a confirmation number from Booking.com, but when I called to check in with that confirmation number, they had no reservation for me. Luckily, the great food at The Cobblestone found a roon for us!

Breakfast was great. COVID precautions were amazing. Friendly staff and supportive management. Pool is the perfect size and fun.

Daughter has a severe dog allergy... a staff member would bring their dog. One morning/afternoon after swimming when going back to the room the staff member had their dog in the hallway. I told my little one to run to the room to which staff member said, "no don't run away it'll trigger his pray/hunting instinct". To which I replied, "She has a severe dog allergy." "I know that's why we are on the other side of the hallway."

Room was quiet and clean. The receptionist was wonderful. There was a heat wave rolling through and the AC worked perfectly.

We had a little difficulty finding a parking spot, as one guest had parked a moving truck across 5 or 6 spaces. Parking is always going to be tough in a city, as space is limited, but it was a bit of a headache.

Excellent breakfast.

When checking in we were sent to occupied rooms twice! The front desk girl was new and overwhelmed. The assistant General Manager was called in to resolve the issue, which she did within about 90 minutes we were in a room.

On our first night the guest directly above us pounded there feet on floor starting @1:30 am Called the front desk @ 6am to complain It then got worse Jim went to front desk to complain, He was told they have a dog and would be checking out that day. So that’s the answer? They have a dog? The pounding rattled the walls. When we were leaving Jim went to get a cart There was none Was told they only have 2 carts?

The room was clean and comfortable. Quiet.

The front staff was friendly when we saw them but were rarely at front desk. Plus we were never informed of doors locking at 11pm. So got locked out and had to figure out ourselves how to get back in due to front staff not being "in the front". Room was a bit overpriced. I stayed at basically same set up in busier City and it was $84 cheaper. Breakfast in a.m was from previous day breakfast wasn't refreshed.
