Lotusama Hanoi Hotel

I like the location. Its right in the french quarter. There are street food in front of the hotel and transportation is accessible and convenient. They can even arrange a tour and airport transfer for a fee. I like the breakfast buffet selection. I stayed there for 3 days and I like the breakfast. They have different food everyday and they all tastes good. Its value for money.

I had to switch rooms two times because the aircondition wasnt working. Third time is the charm but the manager made up for it by giving me complimentary late check out and they were apologetic so it all worked out. The property also prefers cash payment because if guests pay via credit card, the property gets 10% charge because of tax. They should make this clear in booking.com.

Everyone is so friendly here - the staff are really helpful with recommendations etc. The whole place is stylishly decorated, super clean and the location is great. I’m glad we were given a free upgrade as I’d missed the fact that the room is booked didn’t have a window!!

The pillows on the bed are the really uncomfortable! They are super over stuffed and hard which really gives you real crick in the neck! The staff did swap the pillows to smaller ones for us, but they were only smaller in width, but still over stuffed! The breakfast is okay - lots of choice (including some odd options like sushi) but not amazing.

Location and staff was caring.

When I reached there, receptionist said that room is over booked. However the arranged another ho for a night.

This hotel has some of the kindest and most helpful staff I've ever encountered! For example, my friend was meeting me in the morning to go on a tour. She was staying in a different hotel. When she arrived, the staff at my hotel had breakfast ready for the both of us. That's just one example among many. The staff go above and beyond here. Other things: The wifi worked really well, the location was great, and it was very peaceful/quiet at night. I slept well. Also, I specifically picked this hotel, because it is near to X-men Gym. You can go to this gym for 50,000 VND (2 USD).

The Lotusama is a small boutique hotel located in the Old Quarter within easy walking distance of many sights. We appreciated the friendly service, comfortable bed, good WIFI and Netflix, and very nice breakfast. The staff went above and beyond to coordinate transfers to and from the airport and to arrange a day trip to Halong Bay for us - the service exceeded our expectations!

The only minor challenge we experienced is that the hotel preferred for us to pay in cash rather than by credit card due to the credit card transaction fee. We did not know about this in advance, so did not have enough cash on hand to make it work. The hotel was still gracious about accepting our credit card in the end, but we were a bit surprised about the request to pay in cash.

The staff is what really makes this hotel special. They were always very friendly and welcoming and made sure I had everything I needed and that I felt at home. The location is fantastic for exploring the old town. I liked the unique architecture and décor of the lounge and reception area. Breakfast had limited selection but was very good quality and taste.

The superior and deluxe rooms do not come with a window even though from the photos it looks like there is one (technically there is a window but it's blocked by a wall). This makes the room feel claustrophobic, considering also their compact size. At this price I would have expected a bigger room and / or a proper window.

The staff were very accommodating. We would be greeted and treated as VIPs every time we passed through the lobby. They were so happy to share with us local tips and answer any questions we posed. For such an exotic city, the team at Lotusuma provide a clean, modern and quite space to rest.

We were very impressed by the size of our room upon arrival. It had a generous bathroom with a massive terrace - hard to fault. However we noticed the sliding glass doors didn't have a sufficient seal to dampen the noise from the street below. It was very noticeable in comparison to other previous hotels. The following morning I spoke with reception, and the problem was promptly resolved with a new room 1 floor up (new room #401 was considerably quiter).

Helpful and friendly staff, clean and modern appearance, tasty breakfast buffet. Overall fantastic little hotel and great value for money. I stayed here for 2 nights when I first arrived in Hanoi and had originally planned to stay elsewhere when I returned from a cruise around Ha Long Bay. However the new accommodation was not up to scratch, so I returned back to the fantastic Lotusama Hotel.  The staff were really helpful and super friendly. When I noticed a hole in my shorts they found me a sewing kit so I could fix them. They also told me about some local buses to Mai Chau, which is great if you want a more local experience like me, or have a tight budget. They all had good English, which always makes things easier.  Breakfast was great with a range of hot and cold food. A lot of it was new to me, but tasted great. There was also toast and cereal.  The rooms are spacious, clean and air conditioned. Modern bathrooms, with some individually packaged toothbrush, razors, etc just incase you've forgotten something. The showers are hot with good pressure, the perfect way to start the day. 

The old Town in Hanoi is vibrant and you can hear it come to life as you eat your breakfast. I could hear a little of this from my room on my first visit, but nothing at all on my second.

Brand new and clean. Some staff may be inexperience but they are all enthusiastic to assist with smiles. I also like the front entrance at street level, which is not the usual flight of stairs commonly found in other hotels all over Vietnam. This makes it so much easier to get in and out of the hotel for older folks with knee problems like me. Shower is strong with sufficient hot water, with high quality fixtures in the bathroom. I'll definitely return to Lotusama the next time I'm in Hanoi.

Nothing to dislike as I already knew what to expect when staying within the old quarter, such as smaller rooms due to building regulations and the occasional traffic noise.

not having a place to put your luggage was a big let down as I had to sort my luggage on the floor. a table to put your luggage is definitely needed. it will be good to have seating as well. I booked the executive suite so while the rooms are clean, the room didn’t feel like an “executive suite” as my room was small and that I didn’t have a desk to work with which is essential for an executive suite. all in all it was a great experience just 2 opportunities to be better next time.
