Golden Art Hotel

Jasmine. Amazing. Warm, kind and knowledgeable, as were the rest of the staff. Order banana pancakes for breakfast, they’re fabulous. Also plan your Ha Long trip from here. Easy peasy. We booked the room with the lounge, as we are a family of three and had a lot of luggage to sort out. It was fine, just needed new curtains. The location is fabulous. Everything walkable, just step outside though for a grab location as it was hard to determine where the driver would wait, as Golden Art is down a little street for mopeds not cars. Right in the thick of the old quarter so perfect to absorb real Hanoi and it’s sights and smells, yet easy to walk to the wider open French quarter. We were super sad to leave here. Credit to Jasmine and her staff, doing everything right (out of 7 hotel stays in Vietnam) Such supportive helpful people just when you need it! A word on price too. Absolute value for an August stay. Not too busy at all, crazy hot, but lovely cool air con on return. Phew. I think we did miss a bar area here, but blimey, you’re surrounded by places to eat and drink, and Golden Art is where you go back to relax in the cool.

Excellent staff - I can't rate them highly enough, they were all extremely friendly, welcoming, professional, helpful, knowledgeable about the city, spoke excellent English and there was nothing that was too much trouble for them. They are the real stars that make this hotel what it is, and I hope the management/owner appreciate them! The location was great - in the old town but a much less touristy part than a further east, so it was nicer to walk around. Lots of places to eat nearby and walking distance to most attractions. Very good breakfast - ordered from a menu and you could have as much as you wanted, a mix of local and international options.

Our room had a damp/musty smell and was quite dark, which meant it wasn't very pleasant to spend time in.

We stayed 4 nights in this charming hotel in the middle of the old town. The rooms are comfortable and clean, good bed and shower. Very good value for money. Location is perfect, everything is within walking distance. Restaurants, coffee bars, streetfood, the lake, massage... all is near the hotel. Breakfast was very nice, loved the banana pancakes (the best i've had in Vietnam)! Also good Pho, omelet and fresh fruit. Jasmine and team were very helpfull before and during our stay, always friendly, and happy to see you. No doubt, very much recommended !

Nothing at all.

Even before we arrived the communication with Jasmine was great, she responded to all our queries and also offered us Halong bay tours and airport transfer. We took the Halong bay tour through the hotel which was convenient as we could pay for it when we checked out. The location is perfect, short walk distance to most places of interest in old quarters but at the same time in a street without much noise. There is also a small store just opposite selling food and other stuff one may need. The 4 rooms we booked for 3 nights were clean and the breakfast was super great and filling, we had plenty of options for breakfast including Vietnamese food and the ladies serving were very friendly and spoke good English. The rooms were cleaned every morning for us. Jasmine also recommended couple of good Banh mi places where we had the best Banh mi. She also recommended places to visit etc.

Stayed for 2 nights, went on a cruise for 2 nights and returned for another 2 nights. GAH staff kept our big suitcases for us while we were away and got our clothes laundered. We stayed in a junior suite which was very spacious. 2 TVs! Breakfast was delicious with choices like noodles, fried rice, pancakes, eggs etc. Big shout out to Jasmine and Lily for helping us with all our enquiries. Esp Jasmine who helped us book the best cruise and our city tour on the pedicab. She is just a WhatsApp message away. Hotel is a short walk away from the lake, night market and centre of all the activities.

Lane in front of the hotel was always blocked and was difficult for drivers to pick us up. Most of the time, we had to walk out to the main road to get to our transport. This is a hotel for a very good night’s rest only and therefore, don’t expect facilities like a pool or a gym room.

Lovely hotel!! My favourite thing was that it was located in a small and authentic street, a bit from the most touristy part. But still very near everything. I loved it. Also it has a convenience store just in front of it, so to buy water or beer up to room was no hassle at all. Breakfast was very very good: I liked that it was continental choice (as I cant with noodles in the morning which seemed to be a common thing in Vietnam). The elevator was not slow (as other hotels can have). My room was spaceous and clean and great beds (I slept very well). The water was always ok for a hot shower. The staff was very helpful and they almost became like "friends" because when I got back to hotel we could chat for some minutes about how my day was and they told how they lived in Hanoi. Very personal and polite athmosphere here. I travlled alone and felt like they were my "host family" that helped me if any problems came by. I HIGHLY recommend this place.

Sometimes wifi could be a bit slow but not a big problem.

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms. Jasmine knew put names and made us feel at home. We were lucky enough to get a free upgrade and everything was clean and spotless! The beds were comfortable and the shower pressure was delightful. Jasmine helped us before we even arrived but asking if we needed any help and asked to forward any thought we had! As soon as we were checked in, we went to meet with her… she was fabulous and helped us plan out our whole adventure, not just in Hanoi but all of Vietnam! She helped book trips for us and everything was at a cheaper rate than I had researched! The location was great, a short walk to everywhere, although quiet in the evenings…which was great with early departures! Breakfast was fantastic, cooked to order. Thank you Jasmine and your team you do an amazing job! Wish we could have stayed longer to explore more! This property is great value, don’t go past it, you won’t regret it - book it now!

There was nothing at all to complain about! the service was amazing, particularly the spectacular Jasmine, she goes above and beyond, such a credit to the hotel!

The best breakfast in all of vietnam. While it wasn't a buffet as we expected, it was choose ur options from a set menu and we quite liked it. It was not at all wasteful. The staff is courteous, helpful, always smiling and they kept our luggage after check out as we had a night flight. We were celebrating out anniversary so they decorated the room for us which was sweet. Bed linen ans towels were clean. They also gave us an early check in. I am very grateful for all of the these things but I will keep this review honest.

Just how run-down the room was. Upon asking about it, they said during covid the hotel was shut and it was a tough time, so I get it but in that case perhaps the price for the rooms should've been lesser. There was also dust at the headboard. Rusted bathroom shelves, I feel bad writing all this but I am bring honest.

We had a great time in Hanoi and our stay at the Golden art hotel was amazing. The staff was lovely and very kind and helpful. The room was very clean and the bed and pillows very comfortable. The hotel is located in the old town and the area is very lively during the day, but quiet at night as the night life is on the other side of the quarter; therefore it is perfect. As last, the breakfast was very good and made at the moment for you! Ps. Much better than any hotel in the UK we ever been!

Quiet location but easily accessible to the centre of the old town and the lake area. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and wanting to do everything they could to make the stay enjoyable. Large, comfortable bedroom.

Having been closed during Covid and only fairly recently reopened, the hotel could do with a bit of money spending on the bedroom corridors etc but the breakfast room and other public areas all fine. Our arrival on a Friday evening was ‘interesting’ as the night market was on which meant no buses could get near the hotel so we had to pull our cases down the busy streets of Hanoi, fighting our way through the motorbikes, street traders etc gave us a good introduction to Hanoi!
