Bay City Geelong Motel

Convenient location to Spirit of Tasmania. Very nice and neat room. A couch plus table and chairs. Very comfortable bed - new I think. Very friendly greeting and check-in. Free parking. Convenient key-drop box for early leavers.

Couch a bit worn but certainly adequate. Bathroom basin didn’t look clean but I think it was only dried water marks. Foxtell didn’t seem to work - asked for renewal of subscription - but that could have been me and my lack of technical knowledge! I didn’t realize WiFi access wasn’t free so didn’t really use it much. No charges have come through.

The room was very clean. I was able to walk to the restaurants and also to the shopping centres. The staff were also very friendly. I was able to leave my car after check out time as I had an arranged appointment.

I can not fault anything with my stay. The only thing that I can think of is that I did not have a box of tissues in the room that can come in handy when they are needed.

Our twin room at Bay City Motel had firm beds which we greatly appreciated as we do not like soft beds. The room was clean and well equipped with a table and chairs, microwave oven and tea and coffee making facilities. We also able to open the window for fresh air and the room was quiet. The motel is ideally located for access to University Hospital, restaurants, shopping centre and the foreshore.

The room was clean and comfortable. I needed accommodation near the shopping center and the hospital. This motel met both my needs. I also needed a room that met the mobility issues of my mother. The motel was happy to assist.

Having to move the single bed so as I could watch TV in bed and had use of the bedroom table. this is not a big issue, I stayed here previously had had to do it then.

Simple but effective. The room was immaculate when we arrived, very clean. The rooms are nicely set up with a couch and obviously a bed (king) to lay out on. The manager was extremely helpful.

The only negative is the car park. Due to the proximity to the rooms you can hear the cars come in the evening - some very late - and leave in the morning - some very early.

I loved the firm matteress.It helped me go to sleep immediately.So to me that was very important.I usually get a soft mattress at other hotels ,and I toss & turn for most of the night & I need to rest after travelling on public transport with heavy luggage.

Sufficient onsite parking. Good water pressure in shower. Nice clean crisp sheets.

Aircon was located right in front of bed. Unable to adjust wind direction or block the path of wind. Whole night it was blowing into my face. Had blocked nasal passage and frozen nose. WiFi was crap and only could use on 1 device. Kept getting alarming notice about security issues while using the login to access. Even after I switched off the WiFi and tried to log on another it said I could not. Then less than 12 hours later in the morning apparently my WiFi access had expired. Does not inspire confidence.

Very close to Geelong Eastern Beach. Impressive bathrooms. Accomodating staff.

On 2nd booking internet scam pretending to be motel and offering discount rates, charged $700 to my credit card, without my permission. Only book through owner; Li, directly or booking.com to avoid scam. Scam starts with website for Bay City Motel and changes to getaroom.com before asking you to pay with yet another provider.

The room was awesome, comfortable and clean. The location could not have been better. The owner was friendly and informative.

The reception area is dark and old - didn't like the vibe. My first impression when I saw the reception area was that the rooms were going to be awful however this was not the case.

Great sized room, newly renovated bathroom with a large bathroom vanity, nice fluffy towels, lovely bed linen. Plenty of space for luggage. Close to Malt Shovel Taphouse and Charles Darling Hotel. Short walk to top of the waterfront esplanade, before walking down to Beach House for nice coffee and food, in front of outdoor sea pool area on the foreshore. Easy foreshore walk to other eating and dining options, tourist information and general interest locations. Reception is not open till 2pm so they seemed ok with using the carpark as we arrived earlier than planned.
