B&B HOTEL Epernay

This may be a budget hotel but it really delivered for us. It is brand new and very well thought out. We stopped off in Epernay en route between the south and the Channel Tunnel, and this hotel was ideal. A short walk from restaurants in town, and we chose to get breakfast from a patisserie 8 minutes walk away. Good car park, comfortable beds, nice shower. Unlike the budget hotel we stayed in travelling the other way, the family room we booked was *very* generous in size. It also came as a pleasant surprise to find that B&B hotels provide free access to RMC Sport channels which meant my other half was able to watch a big match. Although we were warned we might have to self-check-in (doors are code operated) there was a polite member of staff present to check us in.

only quibble is that I had to repeatedly fill out the online form to gain access to WiFi as it kept kicking us off.

Decoration simple but elegant, Clean. Staff ( I think the proprietor and chef) very helpful. Food amazing, I mean amazing. This guy is passionate and very good…trust me. Set menu is prepared daily. And wow! today was excellent. Absolutely worth the detour from your route to Italy or the south… beautiful small valley location, nice walks.

Recommend they stock simple scotch whisky, J&B or Ballantines. They name nice malts, but some simple stuff would be good too. Personal comment.

Simple no frills hotel with a secure car park (gates closed at night). It's on the edge of town so a bit of a walk to get to the nicer restaurants (though there's a McDonald's nearby if you just want something quick before bed). Room was a good size, very clean, decent shower, comfortable bed. Breakfast wasn't included in my deal so I skipped it.

Nothing to dislike, unless you want to be right in the heart of the town. It's a 10-15 minute walk to the nicest bits.

Super clean hotel with a great location to Epernay center and all things champagne! We stayed one night on our way back to the UK with 3 children. Room was nice and quiet at night, secure car park onsite was essential for us. Lovely breakfast and coffee

Would have been nicer if we had interlocking rooms as we had to separate with the children as the rooms were several apart, could of been interlinking if they were next to each other.

Breakfast was great and everything was within walking distance. The room was very clean and pretty comfortable. There was no issue with noise from other guest.

No phone, refrigerator, microwave or iron in the room. I understand the 'no tiny shampoos and tiny soaps' (who uses those anyway?), and I understand that everyone has cell phones today, but in an emergency (I lost my cell phone during the day), one would be up a creek. I also brought back food and had no fridge to put it into, so I had to throw it away. Also, even though the A/C worked, it didn't cool the room enough. It still got a little warm in the middle of the night.

Superb and Convenient stopover.... This hotel was in an excellent location for our overnight stay. We found the self-check-in to be very convenient. Excellent, secure parking. The family room was well appointed and suited our needs perfectly. Breakfast in the morning was excellent with plenty of food available. The Eperney area was very picturesque and worth exploring at another time...

Nothing to dislike...

We loved the alcove with the single bed for our son. The bathroom was very well designed. The staff were very friendly and helpful offering advice about the local champagne houses.

I would like to have access to an evening meal in the hotel so that we did not need to go out but can understand for the price per night that is charged this may not be cost effective. Maybe there can be an order in service and meals can be enjoyed in the breakfast area?

We booked a family room for four. The room size was very convenient and we slept very well, thanks to the high quality mattresses. Exceptional clean and ecological with refill soap/shampoo We have been pleased to use the microwave in the lobby to heat up or dinner to save some money. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

A table with two chairs would have made the room even more perfect.

It was brand new and spotless. We had a family room for two people and that gave us a lot of space. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I liked the fact that they give you one code when you check in that works for your door, the wifi, and the main code after hours. Coffee machine and croissants at breakfast were good. The stay worked out well for us. A few minor details in the next section.

If you are on foot, the location is about a 15 minute walk from center. Not too bad. No hair dryer in room but you can borrow one from the front desk. Breakfast buffet was convenient but mostly all packaged and processed foods. Reasonably priced though. Note to the company....there is only one small trash can in the bathroom, two in the room would be helpful. The mattresses are very firm.

Simple low-cost hotel option, but with surprisingly spacious rooms, unlike most hotels in this price category. Clean bathrooms, well appointed. Locked carpark in the front assuring safe parking. Very friendly reception, ready and able to advise on food and drink options in the town.

Limited storage options: only a coat rack in the room, no surfaces to put down luggage other than on the ground.
