Silvermine Beach Resort

The location is great for a family. You step right out of the hotel and to the beach. There is a large playground next to the hotel as well. The double bed is actually a king size which worked perfectly for my family. The robot waiter in the restaurant delights my son (and us too). Water refill stations on each floor. Refrigerator in the room. Heater and air conditioner functions in each room. Garden area.

The property is older and could use a few updates. The mattress sagged in two spots, the bathroom sink required force to turn on and off and only the bath shower worked but not the faucet. Minor details, but it is a beach hotel and wear and tear to floor and surfaces is expected. Also, be aware- stairs and no elevator. There was a limited menu in the restaurant for vegetarians but plenty of options nearby. I felt some of the equipment rental prices were too high or were things which should be included for free.

It was a nice peaceful location, the staff were friendly and helpful and the room was spacious and in good order

Our room was on the third floor and there is no elevator. This is no problem for people in good health but my wife struggled a little bit due to a heart condition. That said, I'm sure they would have moved us to a lower floor if we had asked (which we did not). Just something to bear in mind for anyone with a disability.

Place is not that bad, walking is alright, the reception is also okay. I like that they have a game console as well to play around if you're bored and some small activities. The beach front now is doing renovation but that doesn't mean you can't go. still good

a bit of a walk if really need to get some actual food if you don't like the choices of their food. Now the walk-up of course so if you have luggage you will have a hard time. they do not provide water bottle, but they do have a refillable water area for everyone.

Fantastic location close to Silvermine Beach, not too long of a walk from the ferry pier. I was worried after reading some bad reviews of this place, but didn't encounter issues personally. Our room was spacious and nice enough. I requested a room with a bathtub and they were able to accomodate so bonus points for that. Funnily, the knob to toggle the water from showerhead to bath tap was a bit broken, I asked reception who said "the facility is not available anymore" and so I was planning to fill the bathtub with the showerhead, but after I got back to my room the water was coming out of the bath tap so it worked eventually! Lol.

Queue to check-in is a bit long on Sunday 3-4pm, so for us we just came back later to check-in as we weren't in a hurry. Bathtub was very low, couldn't fit two people in for a nice, luxurious soak, but better than no bath! Price does seem a bit expensive for what you get.

Room with beach view and comfortable. Facilities in hotel and area around are good. Food grocery and small shopping are in walking distance. Convenient access to pier for ferry. Staffs are friendly and helpful.

The location is fantastic (great sea views!) and we were pleasantly surprised to find the room we were in had been renovated and was very comfortable and modern (although shower pressure could have been better). Breakfast was better than expected and the staff were all very friendly. I imagine this place to be fantastic for young children when beach and pool are open.

The public areas/communal areas of the hotel were...not quite as modern. The paint scheme on stairs feels like a primary school/hostel and the entrance foyer felt like a public hospital. In desperate need of renovation to public areas. This nearly out us off entering.

I didn't expect much, but it really exceeded my expectations. The room was really clean, spacious and the bed was really comfortable. We were impressed.

Pool was closed for maintenance, you would think they would do that during the coldest parts of the year, not May.

I actually appreciate the renovated room and the very big double bed, and the ability to fit another additional bed. The bathroom with shower was comfortable and sufficient. Our family very much appreciate the game consol and outdoor pool, and the unbeatable seaview. I also appreciate that the hotel provides water refill station rather than bottled water.

The room has been renovated while the building is still dated. Breakfast is fixed and is the same every day, so it doesn't appeal to those who stay for more than one night.

One of the few options in Mui Wo. It was like 1970’s Butlin’s in England... A fading holiday camp but with sculptures lining the corridors. Appalling service in the outdoor bar with the leftovers from lunch being picked over by sparrows, but with an amazing view of the bay. We quickly decamped to the Deer Horn Nepalese restaurant a short walk away for a fantastic dinner. Redeeming grace, one of the best showers ever!

Faded, grubby, dated. A parody of the 1970’s. Need to bring with you a strong sense of irony.
