The family plus room is super for a big family like us. We had 2adults + 4kids staying there for four nights. The facilities are relatively new and clean. Staff are very friendly. The location is good, near the highway to city but not noise. Easy to drive to the city and all the museums and galleries. Wifi is good and hot water shower is good.

Nothing really. It would be a bonus if the room or the public area has a microwave. During our stay, there were school kids camping. Occasionally you heard kids talking loud. But only for a short period of time. Overall it is a quiet place to stay.

The room was very clean and looked new although it is a couple of years old. Bathroom was excellent and very clean. In room facilities (tea / coffee) were adequate.

On the same day I made our booking (via Booking.com) I had ordered (by phone) "breakfast boxes" for each morning of our stay. Clearly the reception staff member I spoke to failed to record the order - when we checked in we were advised there was no record of the order and since it was a long weekend (Easter) there were no chefs available on staff to prepare the breakfast boxes so we had to go elsewhere to get breakfast each morning.

I've stayed here several times as it is only 5 minutes away from my family. Clean, comfortable and I love the twin rooms which have 2 queen size beds. Large room. The lodge is next to Gold Creek where there are several cafes, fast food outlets, specially shops and tourist attractions...Cockington Green, mini golf, reptile zoo, dinosaur museum and walk-in aviary.

It would be nice if there was a microwave in the room but they have a "no cooking in the room" policy.

A clean and comfortable room that suited our family and was close to our plans in Canberra. They were able to accommodate our early arrival time, and so we felt prepared and calm when heading to our event.

The parking area is part of a larger carpark (for fast food and shops) so it was sometimes quite busy with fast-moving traffic. You may not be able to park directly outside your room so you need to navigate this to get bags and kids to the room.

The room and its fittings were in excellent condition. Modern plumbing, clean carpet and comfortable bedding all exceeded our expectations given the price point. Warm and helpful reception staff rounded out the experience. Don’t be put off by the Y connection. The hotel part of this property is not lwhat you might expect from the iconic backpacking accommodation the YMCA is known for. Lots of eating nearby. The on-site parking is tight on spaces but we managed to grab the second-last one with a 12pm arrival on a busy Canberra Sunday. We’d return without hesitation.

Only one waste bin located in the main room. None in the bathrooms.

Perfectly located in the Gold Creek Village off the Barton Hwy. Short stroll to shops and attractions. Comfortable rooms, decently sized. Lovely bathroom set up and ample storage space for luggage.

The little fridge was a bit noisy when the motor was running and one bed had a broken leg so we propped it up during our stay.

The location was perfect as we were there to go to a wedding and could walk to the reception. The bed was comfy, the room warm ( very cold outside) and it had all the facilities we needed.

The room was small and only 10 metres from a Kentucky fried chicken shop so everytime we opened the door we were greeted with the smell of greasy chicken. Also didn't like being treated like children on check in, having all the rules pointed out to us verbally. They were just common sense after all.

Really lovely motel in a lovely leafy area. We were in a room close to shops so probably a little noisier than other rooms but didn't worry us after 10pm. The rooms were very clean and beds exceptionally comfortable. Only thing I think they could improve is crockery in room. Only has 2 Mugs (one of which was missing but replaced by a trip to reception) and 2 spoons. A couple of small plates would be helpful. Also, a bedside lamp would be a better idea than overhead lights. I travelled with my elderly mum and it was difficult re lighting when she went to sleep early. Apart from those tiny issues, I would rate our experience as Excellent and will definitely return. Great value, lovely location in Nicholls and extremely comfortable!

The room was neat, clean and quiet. There was free parking available. The location is awesome - near petrol, chemist, KFC, Maccas - but even better than that it's near a lovely little village shopping area with adorable shops, great cafe, bird viewing, plant nursery and art gallery. I had a wonderful time exploring!

If you don't mind not having a view/outlook, it's perfectly fine. It's a more than adequate for a short stay in Canberra.

The room was spacious and had all the basics we needed for the one night we stayed here to visit Floriade. The room was clean and provided us with everything we needed for us and the kids. The reception was friendly and was able to make it an easy checkin process.

We didn't realise the place was literally located next door to KFC. It felt a tad weird and the smell outside was a bit awful. No smells inside the property though - surprisingly.
