Mantra MacArthur Hotel

The rooms itself was as described and shown in the photos. They had tea and coffee-making facilities as well as a bar fridge. The air con was good and the bed was comfortable. Overall it was a pleasant stay and I would stay there again.

The signage to the hotel entrance. I missed it the first time and had to turn around. Entry is from a David St driveway underneath a building. The hotel is in a battle axe-type arrangement. There is an apartment building in the front, which I don't believe is part of the hotel. This was a bit confusing when trying to figure out where you should go.

Very friendly & helpful reception staff who - found & lent me a bowl for my cereal, - answered random questions I had about the hotel & surrounding areas, - found a conveniently located hotel (Novotel nr Alinga St terminus) where (after checking out) I was able to leave my baggage while I checked out Canberra for the day before catching a plain home at 8pm.

That the restaurant wasn’t open for breakfast, so not knowing where gluten free breakfasts would be available close by I had to take my own food (from Adelaide) for 6 breakfasts: Packet Sanitarium GF Weet Bix 200gm Seedy topping 6 pack of 200 ml milk 6 yoghurt pouches 6 large persimmons 6 260ml Queen Garnet Plum juice.

Perfect right location of the Hotel to anyone new to Canberra. Parking inside the Hotel was anyway secure. The studio room was well organised and enough cutlery provided to finish our meal inside the Hotel room. The room we were provided had fantastic views.

The bigger room given to us had a table with a twisted leg. The bed lamps were too white and dull taking away the grand hotel look. The room lighting should be provided with warm hue lamps rather than dull while ceiling lights. The bathroom shower area did not have adequate lighting. It should have been provided one. The restaurant should have been functional in the Hotel area.

Room was clean and well organized. It was warm and welcoming. Very convenient because it was close to the lifts and not far from the stairs. Appreciate the arrangement for the parking space. Appreciate the friendliness of the staffs.

I am a tall person and I found that the single bed inside was small for me especially when trying to turn. May be a queen single will be much better. Apart from that, I have no other concerns while staying in the Hotel. I love it and will return to this nice place.

Parking can be an issue

Shower pan not thoroughly clean, long term grime around hinges puts into question how superficial is the clean, build up of 25mm scum Difficult to locate the pretty from some directions...signage poor as no entry fr Northbourne, took 4 circuits to work it out...not helped by adjoining construction work

We loved our room and the modern furnishings, well thought out bathroom plus second mirror in main room but an additional chair would be useful. The location and proximity to the city centre plus super easy access to the light rail system was amazing!

As first timers to Canberra and this hotel more basic information on finding our way to the closest supermarket and newsagent to buy basics including local transport cards would have saved us much time and less walking in the rain. Using Google maps is ok but often takes you on the circuiteous route unfortunately. We would have loved to have had more options for breakfast whilst the restaurant was basically closed as sometimes a quick grab and go before you head out is required.

great location, due to the light rail being so close, very quiet, felt roomy, even the corridors were wide. very fresh and clean

the only thing I felt was a little bit annoying was the fact our towels couldn't dry each day as there are no proper towel rails. We stayed for 8 nights, had house keeping once which was fine, but towel rails would help.

Location was amazing, super handy to the TRAM stop and the coffee shop downstairs was an added bonus (although not open every day, which was slightly disappointing).

The beds were super small and uncomfortable, the room was very small also. The room when booked was through Booking.com, and we ended up having no room service for the seven days we were there. It isn't clearly advertised on Booking.com when booking.

Loved the room set up for a family. Two adults and two young teens. Rooms adjoined with one entrance. Both had a bathroom and main had a kitchenette. Lots of space. Everything seemed really new and super clean.

The parking was shared in a council car park adjacent to hotel. Every time we went in or out we had to go to reception to get our ticket validated. On one occasion my husband couldn’t get the car out and had to re park and run back into hotel. Reception was always very busy so a queue each time. Also building site outside meant a lot of machinery noise (excavation and piling) from early Monday morning.

Training staff was really nice and helpful overall good experience facilities very great gym , free wifi , comfy beds ,amenities etc to sum up it was good experience 😊highly recommend

I feel they should provide mini microwave in studio I am ex mantra staff used to work in Goldcoast properties they do have microwave in studio apartments that’s all otherwise room was pretty good and value for money
