The room was HUGE! Two Queen size beds, Dining table which would seat 4 people easily, full size chest of drawers , a large cupboard for hanging clothes, a coffee table and room to hold a dance party around the rest of the room. Parking was easy and spacious outsid ethe front door of the room. Also, while not having its own restaurant, it is a 6-7 minute walk to the Old Canberra Inn for dinner and a 5 minute drive to the nearest local shopping centre for breakfast.

Time to replace the cracked glass Shower Screen. I'm sure it's safe but it is unsightly,

The room was large, clean and comfortable. There were plenty of drawers and tables to store our belongings. A great old school motel and would happily stay again. Great value for money for four people

The shower went scalding hot without warning (I guess when someone in another room used theirs) which was a bit scary when the kids were showering. It’s a bit of a way out from the centre city but has good shops and cafes in nearby Dickson and Lyneham and is close to buses and trams.

Location was always under 20 minute drive to where we wanted to go. National zoo and Aquarium and the museum as well as costco and canberra centre. Room was a great size with plenty of space for our luggage plus the hauls of goodies we bought during our stay. Large fridge was a bonus instead of the small bar fridges rooms usually have. Felt great that I could also park my car just outside my room. Great water pressure. Would happily stay again!

Rooms are just outdated. A reno would do this place wonders!

It’s local and convenient, accessible on site parking

The rooms are very cold in winter but there were two heaters in the room, when kept on the room stays warm enough but one of my heaters was turned off by cleaning staff after I had asked reception to pass the message on not to turn the heaters off when I’m out of the room and when I came back from my course I struggled to keep warm as the room just wouldn’t heat up quick enough.

Nice motel with friendly and helpful staff. The facilities are a bit old but exceptionally clean. We've been there in July, and the room met us warm and cosy – that was so good considering the cold weather! I do recommend Canberra Lyneham Motor Inn as it's a perfect budget option for the entire family.

It would be good to have some bowls and cutleries in the room along with cups: the lady in the reception said that we should ask if we need anything, but we didn't pay attention to it on arrival, and that was tricky to have breakfast in the morning as the reception opens at 9 am :)

I had a wonderful stay at the City Motel with my family. Canberra Lyneham Motor Inn is located near the city center, which was very convenient for sightseeing and shopping. The room was cozy and clean, with an attached bathroom and extra kitchen stuffs that we needed. The staff were very kind and attentive, and they went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The price was also very affordable for the value we got. I highly recommend this motel to anyone looking for a family-friendly place to stay in Canberra.

Great location and for the price perfect for our weekend catch with family. If you're looking for a 5star experience in Canberra this isn't the place for you. Budget friendly, clean and really comfortable beds. Walking distance to great coffee and breakfast, as not really the facilities for that. Dickson was a great find, mini china town, lots of great food. I would stay here again.

Nothing. I was what we expected.

The room was very spacious, and we had lots of space to move around in. Could easily move around bed without hitting something. There was lots of cupboard space. Beds were comfortable. Room had A/C, fans, electric blankets, heater, extra blankets, room was catered to cover all weather types, double windows to eliminate any noise, lots of power points in room. Was in good location and handy to where we needed to go. Lots of parking spaces available but some were a tight fit (close together).

Room was older, had tiles falling off bathroom wall, tap constantly leaked, only small bar fridge, larger fridge would have been better or kitchenette (was enough room for this), TV sound was really bad and had to have TV up very high to be able to hear (upgrade of TV's is needed). Would have preferred allocated room parking spots instead of park wherever you can get a spot.

My wife, two kids(K2 and babbler) and myself were on this long weekend trip during Floriade. The beds were comfortable, had electric blankets so that was great for the chill weather. There were also two heaters (one fixed in the wall, another portable) which we used only for a short while before going to bed. The room had a microwave AND a fridge. So this was great for us travelling with a toddler. The Woolworths at Dickson(approx 1km away) is well stocked for a microwave or frozen food based budget stay. The motel is equally close to two lighrail stops, you can choose either and we preferred the Dickson stop.

I wanted simple accomodation within city reach and got more than what I was hoping for, without any hassle. Debbie was great. If I really, really, really had to whine, I'd say there could possibly be a night light far away from the bed that I can leave on all night. The bathroom light and fan are controlled by a single switch, I needed the light without the sound. Luckily for me I was able to move the bedside lamp to a convenient spot to work it out by myself.
