Nelson Towers Motel & Apartments

We liked the location, an easy walk to everything, including a nice cafe located nearby for brekky. Once we'd checked in and received our "fob", we could access the lifts, public doors and our room, easily. We're more used to checking in at a "reception" but the concierge was efficient and helpful, even though we never actually met. Our room was clean and quiet. Not a large room, but adequate. We liked our small courtyard with table and 2 seats. We liked the bookshelves with books to borrow for guests and extra toilet items available.

A small sofa in the room would have been welcome, only place to sit was the bed or a small seat at the desk.

Loved the location as it was within walking distance to the Marina, beach and café and restaurants. Added bonus was baskets located in the hallways filled with extra towels, toilet paper and tissues. Nothing worse than having to track down additional supplies. The self check in and check out was excellent as well as the communication with the Motel - it was clear and precise. Staff were friendly and very accommodating.

Nothing at all apart from the weather not being warm enough to swim.

We all really loved the convenient location, very close to the marina and shops. Also, the terrace area available for having breakfast and rooftop pool facility were great features. Additionally, the rooms had a coffemaker and full set of crockery and cutlery. The overall value of the hotel, when considering the above, was fantastic and we'd definitely stay again for this reason.

The malfunctioning of the the swipe key to one of our rooms was a real annoyance. Firstly, being a Sunday, there was noone on duty in reception. This meant we had to ring to gain remote entry into the parking area. Following this, we found opration of the lift using a code exceedingly confusing, the sequence of actions required for its operation not immediately obvious or reliable. Finally, we found that the fob key didn't work on one of the rooms we'd booked. This necessitated further phone calls and futile attempts at entry before eventually being asked to return downstairs to reception and use a combination safe to obtain a manual operation key! One other negative was the discovery of a used disposable nappy on the terrace near our room.

In a central location with private parking for 1 car. The room was as expected, small but we managed well. The room was very clean and nicer than we expected! The beds were super comfy and bed linen felt like sleeping on a cloud, so soft and silky. The room supplied a small kitchenette, toaster, microwave and small mini fridge. The kids enjoyed the roof top pool each day, the water was lovely and warm. We had the best view of the Nelson bay fireworks on the rooftop! Wifi available, check in was contact-less which was amazing. We received a text on the day with instructions how to access our room. My husband and I were very surprised with how amazing this place actually is. Thank you Stephen for having us. We will be back!

The motel was amazing however the only feedback I wish to pass on to others is, definitely book if you plan on eating out. Unfortunately we didn’t and had a hard time getting a table at most places. However with Domino’s down stairs, we didn’t worry too much.

Central location close to everything in Nelson Bay town centre. Secure access with multiple keypads for lift and garage door. Good sized rooms and balcony. Very clean.

No option to store luggage at reception or keep car in the carpark after 10am check out. Bit surprised by the lack of physical staff at reception but overall the self check-in and checkout process was easy.

Huge suite. Very well appointed. Everything new. Great central location. nice views of the harbour. Short walk to restaurants, park, shops, cafes.

Quite expensive. The cafe immediately below starts setting up tables and chairs at 6:00am and makes a terrible racket. Ran out of coffee pods after the first day and had to find the cleaner to get more.

Cafes and restaurants, very close by, on level One, with shops. Also right on main street, very central, no need to drive car, at all. Are out for lunch, dinner and morning tea, Had a Thai massage, walked along beach.

We had entry problems, as code did not work, Could not get in car park, or in lift, and room, Had to phone twice,

Great location, so central and ideal for the marina, where we were going each day to sail, Nice to have a private outdoor area for relaxing. Well appointed.

We had some problems with our late check-in. Driving up from Sydney after work in bad weather meant we would likely not get there until 10pm and it was stressful to be told that we absolutely could not arrive any later. As it was, we made the cut-off with half an hour to spare but it added pressure to our journey and marred the mood for the start of our stay.

Right in the heart of town with clean roof top pool, huge balcony, reasonably private and fairly sound proof room.

Could have been a little cleaner but well presented with a modern feel. Room we stayed in only had a microwave (there was a countertop air fryer and electric fry pan though didn't use either).

Nespresso coffee machine. Wifi was excellent not going through one of those dodgy 3rd party wifi providers who log everything you do. Very nice accommodation at a good price. Will be back.

To older people who aren't tech savvy the self check in would be hard.
