Anchorage Port Stephens

The hotel and it's surrounds were very beautiful and peaceful, it was nice to sit and walk around outside along the pier, ocean wall and adjacent beach. The room was very spacious. The food at the breakfast was good.

Coffee at breakfast was not very good at all (and we had it 3 times so was not a one off). The room had terrible soundproofing which was a bit annoying, but definitely potentially could have been worse if we had had noisier people next to us. The main pool is very small (and adults only one closed at the time, but also looked tiny). That being said there is a lovely swimming beach just next to the hotel so in summer I would probably skip the pool for the beach .

Great setting and beautiful view from our room over the marina, loved sitting out on our balcony - stunning sunrise. Main pool area very nice. Wasn't brave enough to swim but I sat with my legs in it soaking up the autumn sun for an hour and it was lovely! Good size room and bathroom, all very modern Big bath towels (they are so often tiny!) Breakfast was fantastic. Nothing ever ran out, all very tasty - we didn't need to eat again until 3pm. Lovely sitting overlooking the pool. Moby's Bar was a nice cosy place to chill out in the evening - the snacks from there were really good

No plug points by bed Adults only pool closed (we were informed ahead of arrival though) The Galley Kitchen lacked any atmosphere at night Too far to walk to Nelson Bay if you just want to 'pop' out (although the route is beautiful if you're after a walk and not in a hurry)

Beautiful property, exceptional staff. The grounds are picturesque with the surrounding marina and pristine quiet beach only steps away. Rooms comfortable and modern, the Anchorage room being a favourite to enjoy the balcony/veranda and enjoy the views. Breakfast really lovely with everything you could want and a view of the marina while you eat. The spa is worth visiting for a massage or treatment, staff particularly attentive and skilled.

I had the expectation that the pool was heated but it was cold!!! We were quite disappointed but still enjoyed sitting by the pool. Had it been heated it would have been heaven.

Dining was wonderful. Loved the choices for breakfast which was all included. Walks on the beach and spotting dolphins. Great choice for inhouse movies. Nice to have a gym to do a bit weights or cardio on a treadmill, bike or rowing machine.

I found the towels looked clean and white but they had a slight oily or damp smell after one use, even though we had towels replaced each day. Rooms are not totally sound proof and on our first night stay at around midnight there were very loud talking guests who must have returned from an outing. It went on for about an hour and doors slamming as they entered and exited the premises.

Check-in was excellent, great staff. Loved the hotel very comfortable. Our room was also very comfortable and quite. We loved our breakfast and again the staff were just great. Beautiful views onto the water a lovely location.

Coming in from the highway, we didn’t realise it was such a long drive to the hotel. Would have preferred our car undercover. There is no lift where we stayed and needed to carry our luggage downstairs from the carpark then upstairs into our room.

This is the 4th time I have stayed at the Anchorage. The property has continued to be well maintained. The rooms are spacious and extremely clean. The breakfast is amazing ... f food and a great selection. The staff are extremely friendly and accomodating. I love the location and always enjoy an early morning sunrise stroll across the beach which is right next to the property. I will stay again.

Nothing I can think of. I love staying at the Anchorage. I would recommend this property to other guests considering staying here.

Our downstairs room was clean and inviting, with our own verandah looking over the boats in the harbour. Our bathroom catered for our every need. It was very romantic. I paticularly enjoyed being presented with sparkling wine on arrival , to enjoy in the lounge that had a warm fire, and we could take in the harbour at sunset.

There was nothing I didn't like! Maybe, you have to find a parking which may not be in front of your room, that is all. But there was enough parking for all guests.

We had a beautiful 2 night stay ,we were greeted at the door with a glass of champagne when we walked into our room it was beautiful and clean spacious nice décor the toiletries were great and generous .The breakfast that was included was amazing we couldn't fault it and compared to other resorts at the similar price for the stay with none of those things and no breakfast ,the Ramada and others it was great .

The only thing is it would have been nice to have had somewhere to relax and have a cigarette the policy was absolutely no smoking anywhere on their property .It wouldn't hurt to have a spot set aside away from the resort ,but nowhere is a bit discriminatory .It was raining for one of the days and it was cold which meant we had to go and walk or drive off the property .

Breakfast was amazing. Bed was very comfy. Staff were amazing we checked out a day early to beat a massive rain event coming and they returned that nights stay which most places don’t do.

The room we had had a very small sink and fridge meaning you couldn’t prepare anything in the room so had to eat out for every single meal. If you got your room serviced daily they took towels and sheets which seems like a massive waste of water and power - not very environmentally friendly. Toilet seat was broken and roof cavity fell open in bathroom but they fixed both straight away.

Breakfast is included while staying at no additional cost. The quality,the incredible range of food from hot self selecting to cooked on demand and first class fresh fruits, vegetables and other beautifully presented breakfast choices is absolutely wonderful. The staff are so friendly, helpful and capable they play a major role in the enjoyment of staying at such a warm, beautiful place .
