Travelodge Hotel Sydney Airport

After flying into Sydney following 2 weeks away I wanted to see a play at Surry Hills so booked into the Travelodge at the Airport. It was so convenient to get to after picking up my car from the long term parking. I caught the train to Central to see the play, which was also very convenient and a short walk from the hotel to Mascot train station.

Someone (presumably housekeeping) knocked on the door to my room at 8.30am on Sunday when I was in the shower, which was annoying.

Everything except the shuttle bus

The shuttle bus dropped my disabled mother who is 91 and my sister at Jetstar terminal instead of Qantas terminal, the driver said this was the right terminal so they disembarked. They had to walk a long way which was disappointing as there was no transport available to take them to the right place. They are not use to travelling. I specifically booked the hotel because there was a shuttle. So I was very sad to know it didn’t work.

Because our flight was cancelled due to flooding, no fault of our own,we had to rebook for the following day, we were charged twice, 1 for the cancellation and 1 for the day after. I will not be staying at the Travelodge Sydney airport again

The room was perfect for my overnight stay to catch an early flight. Comfortable bed, exceedingly clean, TV, shower, internet, nice pillows. It was quiet and check in and out was super fast. The staff were extra nice and the shuttle was convenient. Completely exceeded my expectations!

All went well, I’ve stayed here before and find it easy to access the airport for early morning flights. The shuttle service next door is excellent value, takes all the worry about getting to the airport on time.

Evening meal service wasn’t that great, I was seated and left for quite sometime before my order was taken. I could see they were busy so I didn’t make a fuss, however half my order was incorrect when brought to the table, it was corrected fairly soon so not a big deal. I didn’t really enjoy my meal, maybe my choice wasn’t the best, I probably should have ordered what I had previously. That said, I’m not sure I’d bother to eat here again maybe I’ll take a walk down the road next time for a change.

Great buffet breakfast - worth the spend, great atmosphere in the dining room, wide variety of food and a good coffee machine. Staff were helpful and friendly, and someone was at reception all night, handy if you're getting in late. I had a great chat over breakfast with other travellers, I guess that's a great thing about an airport hotel. I've stayed at other hotels nearby and this was a lot better. Simple, comfortable and welcoming. Will stay again.

It did take a little while for the hot water to heat up. Also, be aware travelling in Sydney Sept/Oct that they do hazard reduction burns. It was alarmingly smoky even inside the hotel and rooms.

Well located to international airport and Wilson long term parking is at the rear of the hotel, which is very convenient. We have stayed at this hotel twice before because it is reliably good in terms of check in time and room cleanliness. There is a restaurant in the hotel which we have used for dinner on all occasions before departing overseas the following day. The food is nice, good value and the service is good and friendly.

If there is any negative, it is that the beds can be too hard, making sleep difficult and that is the main reason for being in the hotel in the first place, so a comfortable bed or access to a mattress topper would be a nice option.

Good value for money. Staff, especially at reception, were very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean. It wasn’t big but it wasn’t small either and was simple and tidy. There was no view but for a single night stay near the airport it met our needs. There is a restaurant on the ground floor that’s open until about 10pm (I think) and a shuttle service to the airport for about $10 per person. If all you need is somewhere inexpensive but comfortable and clean to stay before an early morning flight, I highly recommend it.

There were laundry trolleys left sitting in the corridors which is a bit unsightly and it would be great if the restaurant was opened just a little later considering there isn’t much else in the vicinity.

this hotel was a very convenient place to stay overnight before catching a mid morning flight out of Australia (and also on another time catching a flight from Sydney airport for travel within Australia). There is a regular shuttle service to take you and your bags to the domestic terminal or the international terminal as needed. The rooms are comfortable, there is a dining area serving reasonably priced dinner and breakfast, and the staff are helpful. There is also a link with a Wilson Carpark next door if you decide to leave your own vehicle there (at reasonable rates too). It’s a low stress, very convenient place to stay for leaving or coming into Sydney airport.

Nothing

Rooms do not have a lot of extra space, but are more than adequate and very clean. For airport transportation, they refer guests to a car park next door that has a shuttle that costs $10 per person, I think. We stayed at the hotel on three different occasions and left for the airport in the morning each time. We called an UBER and it was usually around $17. One morning, our Uber cancelled on us and a taxi pulled up and charged $20, From the airport to the hotel, Ubers were always very expensive (over $30) but just walking out of the terminal and getting a taxi was $18-$20. If you did not have a lot of luggage, you could probably walk to the hotel. The Masot train station on the airport link was a 10 minute walk making it easy to get into downtown Sydney.

We wanted to have a coffee and visit with a friend one day around 11AM and that was not an option at that time at the hotel
