Macquarie 4 Star

Excellent location close to the highway but nice and close to the town centre also. It was lovely and quiet, staff were extremely welcoming and informative. Ease of check in and check out was a big win as I was driving from Melbourne to Brisbane and leaving at an ungodly hour. Parking was secure and close to the hotel, coffee and tea was great and the fridge was a very generous size. TV had free foxtel, so after a long day of driving being able to lay down and watch something decent was a nice treat! Absolutely brilliant, I would stay again!

Hallways are a little dark making them slightly unwelcoming. This is a very minor observation that I thought could be improved but had no negative bearing on my enjoyable stay!

For our purposes of visiting the area the Macquarie is located perfectly for us. Easy access to the Newcastle area and the Central Coast. Being part of the Club Macquarie is really convenient as breakfast, lunch and dinner is available. The room we had was very clean, well appointed, roomy and comfortable. The bed was really comfortable and I didn't have to use my own pillow. Breakfast in the adjoining Club area was nice and tasty. Good variety of food and warm food was warm! Definitely use the Macquarie now for our stays in the area.

Reception was very helpful, called to reconfirm arrival time and waited for us until 8pm to check in. Room was spacious. Good night's sleep with blackout curtains, comfortable king beds, and no noises. Large bathroom with spa bath. Impressively clean and fresh throughout. Lovely view of the lake. Patio doors opened out to the lawns and garden. Breakfast at the adjacent club was offered at extra cost, but we didn't have time to try. Plenty of free outdoor carparks.

Access to the club and Stockland shops. Staff were all knowledgeable and friendly. Rooms were clean -well done

We were in a large group with friends for a wedding - out of six rooms every person said the pillows were an issue - we all struggled to sleep and have all left with a sore neck or back - I ended up sleeping on a rolled towel. Need review of flatter pillows . It may sound small but if it stops you from sleeping it really ruins the following day

Location was quiet, breakfast was great and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We enjoyed walking down to the creek out the back.

The beds were a little squishy and the room was not well ventilated. There were no windows to open, the screen door was not lockable and therefore unsafe to leave open and the aircon was directly over the master bed and would therefore make me cold.

Lovely, friendly and helpful staff on the front desk for a quick easy check-in. Room and bathroom were immaculate with a great TV, beautiful bed and a very nice outlook over the creek at the back. There was an impressive looking Club attached to the place that unfortunately we didn't get a chance to use but will next time we are here. Overall it was a great place to stay and I wouldn't hesitate recommending it to anyone.

great spot. very quiet. I had a Gold Spa room which looked onto what was more like a river than a creek. It was very nice to sit out on the terrace area and watch the flow of the water, with a glass of wine. The golf course is right nextdoor, so lots of green space around you. the bed was super comfy. The lady who checked me in, Brenda, was lovely. I was pleasantly surprised to discover I could get room service from the Club nextdoor. The food was good and well priced, and service was quick. Overall, especially considering the price, this property exceeded my expectations.

the location is very quiet, which is great if that's what you're looking for (which I was) but if you were hoping for a touristy spot, and to walk down to a block of restaurants for dinner or anything, it's a fairly industrial area, so you're only option without getting in the car is the Club on site. I had a bit of trouble with the spa bath - the plug kept letting out water and i had to keep topping it back up, which was a major waste of water and quite frustrating. I eventually gave i[ without really having much of a bath. I raised this with reception when i checked out and i was advised it would be looked into. not the end of the world, just a bit disappointing.

Cleanliness, atmosphere, the bed felt like i was sleeping on a cloud, the view was so relaxing, the spa was nice too, It was muchly needed.

Didn't like that i had an off milk, the sign in the bathroom, "where it says' if there is any water damage on the floor or carpet" when the spout could be an easy fix first, because I had to soak up so much water before hoping in. crushed biscuit or chips on the floor under the bed, before we even got in the room wasnt clean.

Breakfast was great on the couple of days we had it (we had an early start racing one day, so didn't get to use it). Good selection of food. We didn't use any of the other facilities as we were there for BMX racing. Ready access to shops.

Great staff and rooms are so comfortable. A train station not to far away from the accommodation. Easy parking for large 4wd’s. It’s attached to a club which means great meals either in the club or you can get room service. Breakfast in the morning at the club next door is pretty awesome too.

A little out of the way but it’s not a big deal. Little bit of a heads up, the train tracks are close by so a fair amount of noise does come from the rattling carriages.
