I loved the cleanliness of the room and especially the comfort of that perfect soft mattress. I have nerve pain in my back, so to lie on a hard mattress is virtually impossible for a good night sleep. This spongy soft memory foam mattress cushioned around my spine and I had no pain, this virtually gave me the best night’s sleep I’ve had in a long time, wish I knew the name of the mattress ❤️

The bistro took so long for a meal and there were only 3 tables being served, we waited for 45 minutes for our meal, I was so tired of waiting because of our long travel. I asked if I can take it back to my room, they said it’s $2 for the container, not even free considering how long they took, and we were so tired from our trip of 13 hours that day, I couldn’t argue, and had another 13 hour drive home tomorrow. meals came out at 9:15pm, we came in an ordered at 8:15pm, but ordered at 8:25pm, a staff member told us we had to order with a Q code, but no one told us, till 10 minutes past, trying to find staff for help, how to order food.

I travel a lot and the bed in the room was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Including my own bed! The person working the reception was lovely and made me instantly feel at ease. The outside of the hotel is deceptive as the inside is modern and the rooms were quiet to spite being in the middle of a busy area.

The door in our room would get stuck when we opened it and was really loud when you opened and closed it. I was worried about our neighbours having to listen to it.

Friendly helpful staff, convenient location and we enjoyed a great meal in the bistro.

There was only 1 chair for 2 people. Bed was a little soft for my liking but generally ok. We had a little trouble finding reception as it was not marked at the front of the hotel. We had to go to the bar and be directed back to the bistro where we met by a staff member.

Staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and clean.

This was our return stay after the first, 3 weeks previous. The Airconditioning in this room was much improved, i.e. little quieter than the first stay but still struggled to keep the room cool. I imagine in the heat of summer it would not keep up and when you are travelling, a good night sleep is essential for the trip to be considered relaxing.

The beds were comfortable. Clean and tidy for older rooms. Staff were friendly. Dinner in the bistro was great, but needed to book in to get a table! Servers were fantastic. Kettle in the room was convenient, but no other facilities

The noisy crowd in the adjacent beer garden made for late nights in the motel rooms. Mini fridge and kitchenette sink were in the bathroom, a bit odd :) and there was nowhere to wash hands after toilet if someone was using the bathroom. Finding access lane to park and go to reception was a bit tricky.

The staff!!! Very long story short, my in-laws ute seized up in the middle of a shopping carpark, with their camper attached and only 1 night accomodation booked. The staff at Emerald Star (NightCap) were BEYOND helpful. From making multiple phone calls around town - calling friends of friends- to help get a tow truck when no tow truck was available to us, the patience when the Telstra lines dropped out when making said phone calls, the ease in arranging extra accomodation etc as we thought we’d have none given we were coming into the Easter long weekend. The level of stress for our family was incredibly high given we are from Cairns and now stranded in Emerald and needing to get everything and one back home. The staff went above and beyond, removing the stress, helping us out in so many ways. I could not rate this Hotel higher. Yes, it is a place to lay your head and a beautiful Bistro included but what makes a property incredible is the staff who work for them. Really look after them Nightcap, they’re your biggest and most wonderful assets!!! Would absolutely stay here again!

The room was spotless and very comfortable. I would also like to say that we had lunch at the hotel Star prior to checking in and the woman running the restaurant was magnificent. Her name was Olivia and she is capable of running a Michellan Star Restaurant/ She showed what true hospitality is, her staff were also extremely well trained and professional. The lunch experience was so good we returned for dinner.

There was nothing I didn't like, I would gladly stay with you anytime.

Was away from the attached pub, so didn't have noise coming up from below. Beds were clean and comfortable. It was also handy to walk to local shops for meals and shopping. The staff were also great and pleasent.

The kitchenette was in the bathroom. Found that very strange. Didn't as such know it was a pub, not that that was really a problem, just unexpected. So you find it on the main road. But parking is down another road by the bottle- O drive through.

Nicki was fabulous. We were early, and she gave us early check in. When she asked if we were OK to do steps, I hesitated as my hubby has bad knees. No problem, Nicki gave us a free upgrade to a ground floor room. The room was small, but perfect for an overnight stay. The bed was the best I have slept in, in a very long time.
