Tin Can Bay's Sleepy Lagoon Motel

We stayed at the house that is detached from the main Motel. The house was good for our group of two families with children 3-7yo. The house is well equipped. Tin Can Bay is a nice / quiet fisherman town, a good location to explore the surroundings, including the local marinas and boat ramp, Rainbow Beach, the sandblow and as a base point to ferry to Fraser Island :)

Resupply of coffee, tea and milk would have been nice. We didn't interact much with the motel staff which is fine but perhaps it'd be good for them to check in every now and then with people staying in the house.

The room was great, clean & comfortable 👌 the couple running it were very friendly and helpful and the gardens are delightful. It's extremely door to the Hotel who do delicious meals. Great location.

Unfortunately we found that particular room at the front of the complex quite noisy because the rooms either side of us accommodated families and we were awoken at 5 a.m. several mornings with kids thumping on floors and walls and yelling just outside our windows, rendering it impossible to sleep after these early interruptions. Not conducive to quiet sleeping. Otherwise a great place to stay.

We stayed in a cabin 5b and found the cabin to be clean, large and comfortable. Off street parking is available. The onsite facilities are well catered for and you can walk to the waterfront. There is a pub and bottle shop next door. We stayed on a Monday night and didn't have any noise from the pub.

Where we stayed cabins the adjoin one another. Walls are thin as is usually the case with cabin accommodation so be a good neighbour and keep noise to a minimum at night.

It was clean , comfortable and equally enough for our overnight stay, the manager was excellent and friendly, we left our motorbike in his shed for safety...

There were kids in an adjoining room, they were very noisy, running and jumping inside, it was felt through the floor, but it was in the afternoon so didnt worry too much about it, night time they were quiet. Also no hair-dryer, otherwise, clean and roomy, bit dated in the bathroom, a bigger mirror would be good...

Steve the owner or manager was so lovely and helpful from the start. Took my call a few times to sort out payment and gave me great advice for my journey with recommendations. The place was lovely, the beds so comfortable and it was super clean. Had a separate bathroom and kitchen and didn’t feel cramped at all. Definitely would stay again!

It was great all around!

No cooking facility in room, but staff goes out of way to help, providing pots and pans and portable induction cooktop. Walking distance to IGA supermarket. If I recall correctly, the shower is very satisfying. Good alternative if you can't find accommodation in Rainbow Beach.

Parking can be a little difficult when customers of the neighbouring business place their cars in motel's car park.

It was a nice cabin we had except that when we stood at the kitchen sink, we look directly into the neighbouring cabin. The tree near the bbq had great shade but it dropped stuff alll over the out door furniture that would have been nice to sit in if it was clean.

It was hard to get a car park near our cabin when the pub was open. The car park must have been full of pub patrons

We enjoyed our brief stay at Tin Can Bay's Sleepy Lagoon Motel. The motel is situated in a quiet and pleasant location. The cabin was clean and the bed was very comfortable. As we were to arrive after the reception closed, Jenny was very helpful in communicating with us the arrangements regarding the key and a suggestion for dinner. The quick phone call from Jenny the next morning after we had departed to say that an item had been left behind was also greatly appreciated. As it was an overnight stay, we did not make use of any of the facilities.

Great staff, clean, pleasant surroundings with beautiful gardens and 2 BBQ areas with 5 areas for seating with your company. In the laundry you can find electric cookers to use in your cabin. The Sleepy Lagoon Pub is right there too alongside with a Thirsty Camel.

Weather! The thunderstorm was the only downfall.

The value for money and the neat cleanliness of the property. The staff were happy and friendly and looked after our beer and Jack Daniels that we left in the fridge. And the location was awesome being right next door to the Pub. We had two rooms and we all said the same thing that we would go back to the Sleepy Lagoon when visiting Tin Can Bay every time .

Their wasn't a thing We didn't like everything was exceptional Tidy and very Clean. We all recommend Sleepy Lagoon to anyone travelling to Tin Can Bay.
