Location was great. We booked a king double room and a family room. It was a short walk to each room. The rooms are set back off street, so quiet at night, and we didnt hear road traffic or pedestrian noise The rooms and bathrooms were very clean, we were very pleased. Staff couldn't have been nicer. They were very polite and helpful. I loved the bottled chilled water in fridges. Rooms and linen were very nice and clean

The external facades of building is very old and tired, but I think the owners are in the process of updating everything. Don't be put off by it, the rooms were very good and that's what matters.

Don’t judge a book by its cover!! We were so pleasantly surprised when we opened the door to our room. It was clean and spacious for our family of 4, with a big bathroom with big fluffy towels. It’s in a great location, (close to sovereign hill which was a bonus for us) and was really well priced. Huge bed too!

The compendium is outdated as some of the suggestions we tried were permanently closed. Parking spots were small and narrow, we got back to our room after dinner out and someone had parked in our spot, we told them it had been allocated to us (as per our room number) and they said that they had been informed that they could take any empty car space. We were lucky that they had arrived at the same time as we got home otherwise we would have had to park halfway down the hill in the rain.

Good spacious room, quite surprisingly large. The location was not too bad, but getting out into the traffic was quite difficult, as that corner is incredibly busy. Cars shot around the corner very fast. The shower was lovely, and very commodious. Plenty of room to move around.

There was no teatowel, and no basic things like knifes, forks, plates, etc, which really are a must when you're away from home.. We were supplied with 6 teabags, and things like coffee. But there was only 4 tiny milks, which were soon used up. Very short-sighted arrangement!! The carpet was a bit grotty. It had small stains and a few brown streaks which was a bit offputting. One had to wonder how often it was cleaned. Another disappointment was that there was no breakfast available. We probably won't book that motel again.

Everything was good, big comfortable bed and lots of pillows which I love also good bedding and nice big soft towels. Friendly owner, good location.

Only thing I can say is that the parking is a little difficult but I managed I have a wider car so made it a bit harder. Also after having a quick shower the roof was wet I think from condensation and dripped all onto the bathroom floor even with the exhaust fan going wasn’t a bad thing I just had to clean a lot of water off the floor.

Reception was extremely helpful and friendly and the internet speed was strong and reliable. Our room was impeccably clean, large and airy with a quaint view, between the rooftops, of Ballarat city. The bathroom was immaculate with large white tiles from floor to ceiling. The location is excellent. The motel is situated right next door to a traditional Irish pub with loads of character that offers both al fresco and inside dining. The traditional meals were tasty and well priced so we ate there both nights of our stay. Diagonally opposite is MacDonald's which has meticulously integrated its fast food outlet into an old period brick building that offers multi-level eating spaces that step up the side of the hill. The architecture is fascinating and the furnishings are warm and welcoming. And as you continue walking down the road from there, you walk into a mall of interesting, well priced shops which takes you all the way to Ballarat City. The motel has car parking facilities and is walking distance to the railway station. We dropped our hire car off - and caught a shuttle bus from the station to the Melbourne airport. We found the motel location to be absolutely perfect for our stay.

There are no lifts - so depending on your room number, you may have to carry your luggage up a flight of stairs; but it really isn't a problem because reception is quite willing to do it for you.

The motel is in a great location being close to the athletics track. Also to central Ballarat and to Sovereign Hill. The room was large, comfortable, clean and the bed very comfortable. I would happily stay there again.

Being a fussy sleeper i would have referred a room away from the road which would have been very quiet. Although a microwave and toaster was provided there was no cutlery or plates which made eating our takeaway very difficult.

Although dated, the room was well appointed and the bed really comfortable. It was close to the main street and only a short drive to sovereign hill. The bathroom was clean and the shower a good pressure. Each room was allocated a parking spot too.

The tv wasn't a smart tv so we couldn't link up any streaming account to watch in the evenings. The parking was a little awkward (when the car park was full), although our smaller car fitted ok.

The unit is much bigger than most motel units. There's even a bath! The location is very good - walking distance to the city centre - and there are restaurants and a pub right next door. When asked, the receptionist was happy to supply extra cutlery and crockery so that we could have our breakfast in the room.

The room is dated by the white painted bricks and the old fridge but it is quite comfortable.

Great location, we were able to walk to restaurants and only a short drive to supermarkets. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Although there was parking available for each room, some of the parks were quite small so difficult to get in to if you have a larger car, but the staff were very accommodating and allowed guests with larger cars to park in spaces for vacant rooms.

Location wise:- 1. Very good despite the undulating terrain. Very young (children), elderly or infirm people may struggle it they decide to venture too far from the motel. The name "Bakery Hill" gives a hint of motel's location. Facilities:- 1. Tea/coffee facilities are adequate but bring your own tea/coffee (with milk) if you want to stay more than one night. 2. Bed was excellent. We both prefer a firm bed so were delighted to see the King Size bed suited our needs. 3. Overall, the room itself was adequate for short stays.

The bathroom needs a little attention. For example:- 1. Toilet-seat cover has a split and, although an attempt has been made to "fix" it, the attempt is rudimentary and would not pass Health Department standards. 2. There is mildew in the shower recess. In particular, in the grout between tiles and shower base.
