Location - so close to walk to the centre of town, but also nice to be in a lovely neighbourhood for local walking and admiring the houses etc. it was easy to find, friendly staff who remembered my name when they saw me in the complex, everything was just very easy. There was a terrific cafe just across the road for great coffee, breakfast and cake

Parking was good, but later at night, pretty full and sometimes a bit tricky for me to park our car in tight spots. We were near the outside steps for all to come to the first floor- this was often noisy, not the owners fault, just I think people didn’t realise that their chatter and heavy feet on the steps carried into the rooms.

The room was a good size with very comfortable bed. The shower had good pressure and we enjoyed having a spa bath although only had time to use once during our 4 day stay. Nice to have a microwave in the kitchen and coffee/tea making facility. Complimentary biscuits, tea and coffee.

The only thing we didn’t like was eiher a noise coming from air conditioning units outside or refrigeration unit noise coming from pub next door. . Couldn’t tell which, but it was very annoying and kept us awake at night. Therefore if we stayed here again we would request another room without this noise if possible.

Excellent location, very quiet, and right next door to the North Star Pub and across road from The General on Lydiard Coffee Shop. What's not to like. I'd like to try the cabins at the back next time. They look so cute, and so Ballarat. The rooms are mostly upstairs, but the lady who checked us in, I'm guessing the owner took my bag up for me, nice. No key to get in, just a simple code on the door, easy. Both pub and coffee shop are well worth a visit too. Excellent service in both and very nice food too.

Small thing, but not enough milk for the morning coffee.

The location is fantastic and an easy walk into town or any of the many restaurants/pubs. Very quiet room and very clean and larger than you would think. Easy check in and check out and everything in the room you would need.

Everything was great except maybe the leaking shower door as is the problem in many places we have stayed but this is no way something that would put you off returning in the future. It would also be an easy fix.

Location was great. Cleanliness and presentation was fabulous. Generous beds and appropriate heating/cooling options were available and effective. Shower was a generous size with an adjustable massage function in the showerhead. A great start to every day!

State of the iron could have been better. Was concerned about the potential to mark white shirts when ironing.

How big and spacious the room was with the facilities inside of the room, big value for money.

There wasn't much not to like. The only couple of things would be that the shower door didn't close properly so there was lots of water on the bathroom floor, the pillows were very very thin and uncomfortable, and a complimentary bottled water each would be appreciated rather than having to pay - minor details and will stay again regardless!

Very nice host, super clean rooms, great location next to the pub which has very nice food. Awesome spa bath that you can watch TV from.

Room rate changed per day. Would be good especially for long stays to lock in a nightly rate. Seems dishonest to only find out about it once looking at the invoice. Not fun when trying to explain to work finance team why the rate changed every day. Noisy split system heater in room, had to turn off when sleeping and turn the gas heater on instead as it was very squeaky. Stove top is pretty rudimentary, sort of a portable oven/cooktop in one that is plugged into the wall.

It was very close to the location that I went for my function and I just had to walk around the corner. The room was very spacious and very clean and I didn't hear any noise during the evening. It had lots of facilities, microwave, toaster, toaster oven and jug. The bed was very comfortable and a nice couch and spa in my room too.

The room was very clean and it has good facilities such as a big fridge, a stove, sink for dishes and cleaning staff like soap for dishes. Staff were friendly.

The hitter didn't work well. The room has two hitters, one didn't work at all and the other one was too small for the room size and located next to the door. So couldn't warm the whole bedroom.

Location was good for us and what we were doing. The manager was lovely and attentive. Room very clean. Bar fridge/food items great selection. Liked that we were able to cook in our room. They offer room servicing of towels, bedding changes and fridge top ups. We enjoyed our stay even with the minor negatives.

Bathroom was a little runned down. Spa bath didn't work. There was water damage to the bathroom window frame. Other than that all was good. Pub also on the same block. The noise from the staff throwing empty bottles in the bin was slightly annoying during the night when you're trying to sleep. We also couldn't figure out how to keep our door locked from the inside to stop our autistic child from getting out so we put our suitcases against the door. There was no chain lock on the inside. Even that would help somewhat. Not all major negatives.
