Every little detail. The place has a beautiful vibration. It has bright natural light that warms the spirit. There are planty of crockery, basic kitchen appliances and food amenities such as 2 slices of bread (for 1 person) and assorted jams, teas and coffee. Just perfect. There was a beautiful welcoming letter, chocolates and flyers about local areas. The area is quiete with no many cars passing by, so you get a peaceful rest at night and day. The bathroom has 2 sink and mirrors, a very comfortable shower, clean floor mats, hairdrier, bathroom amenities and heat lamps. The contact less self check-in setting, with clear info about parking, room and key location, allows you to check in at your preferred time. Freshly refurbished, clean and welcoming.
There was nothing that i didn't like. Perhaps the parking was a bit tight, but it was still big enough for a big SUV and it felt safe spot; the room was a bit cold, but the heated blacket helped a lot. The room might be a bit small for 3-4 people (based on the number of beds there were in), but perfect for a couple or a single traveller.

The room has everything one could ask for with extra touches like the Darrel Lea chocolates and the Lindt biscotti. Plus the milo :) The room and bathroom are exceptionally clean, the linen fresh and crisp and the caretaker - Ange - divine. She goes above and beyond to make the stay better than you could hope for. Ange even drove us to our party 10 mins away. Bless her. Yes, the property is not close to Castlemaine, but we ordered in a pizza from Dominoes - so much better than Dominoes in Melbourne. Added to everything else, on a warm night, one can sit in the little beer garden and enjoy the ambience.

Beautifully appointed apartment, great use of space, beautiful bathroom, appreciated 2 mirrors, esp full length. So much attention to detail, generous supply of snacks, including sour dough bread and butter, totally unexpected. Even though remote check in, communication was excellent. Loved the little balcony with the perfumed red rose climbing around. I had to confess to staff that I picked some to have the perfume by my bed. Comfortable beds. The rooms have recently been renovated, we did wonder when we drove in what we would be in for, so pleasantly surprised.
That we did not stay longer

It was an older motel that had recently been renovated. So a very pleasant room. They also provided lovely bread to toast with a nice selection of spreads. Plus selection of teas and coffee. It even had a mini outdoor seating area at back of room that was nice for breakfast. I had some special requests for check in and they were very obliging in trying to help out.
It was all good. A bit out of the main town centre but that wasn’t much of an issue for us as it was only a 5 minute drive in.

Good value, quiet and charming little motel! Stayed in a family room with a double and two singles, all very clean and comfortable beds. Lovely bathroom with all the amenities needed when travelling and extra! Nice and small kitchen with all necessary appliances (kettle, microwave) and more complimentary treats than expected ! Really lovely to throw in a fresh sourdough loaf for guests with an assortment of condiments and teas! Can tell this motel really puts in effort to give you a comfortable stay and I am definitely coming back in the future!

Lovely little quiet motel tucked away off the road managed by a friendly lady (Jane) who genuinely cares about your stay. It’s clean, fresh and airy, cosy accommodation with everything you need. The yummy sourdough and condiments were great and the tea, coffee etc the good stuff. As was all the quality hand soap, lotion, shampoo and conditioner.
Our carpark was a little tight but not a huge issue. That would be the only thing really. We were really happy with our stay overall.

Simple room, but lots of effort has been put in to make it very comfortable. Very thoughtful touches like sustainable toilet paper, natural sukin soaps in shower and local sourdough in the fridge. All much appreciated. Had a great sleep!
I was very happy with my stay, only minor inconvenience was the ceiling fan clicked pretty loudly, but with air conditioning I was fine turning off the fan. As I said already I slept great!

Jane was incredibly thoughtful and accommodating, ringing prior to our arrival to make sure we had all the info and to see if we needed anything else. She even left treats for us in our room, which were much appreciated. Gorgeous setting - perfect for our pre-wedding photos! Jane had thought of everything - the 'handy box' downstairs came in handy more than once! She even sorted perfect weather for the weekend! We would highly recommend staying here. :)

Beautiful place to stay and close to Castlemaine. It had everything we needed for our short stay and we had great communication and a lovely welcome from the owners. We appreciated the sourdough bread for the morning too :)
The walls a quite thin, luckily this is a lovely quiet place but we could hear conversations of the people next door so louder neighbours may be a challenge.

The Albion hotel is very clean and the sheets and towels are white. The rooms are recently refurbished and it was quiet. The communication with owner is excellent. A basic room which is fine for a short stay.
At the last minute we had to catch the train to Castlemaine, instead of drive. The motel is a moderate walk out of town. So if you are not driving, stay at a place in town.
