It is a quirky, arty refurbished hotel/motel. This boutique place would be perfect to share with a group of friends, as well as being a lovely place to stay traveling as a solo or a couple. The courtyard next to the hotel bar was particularly delightful. The room we had was clean and very well appointed with crockery, cutlery, kettle, toaster and microwave, along with tea/coffee, milk, biscuits and fresh bread, butter and selection of toppings for our toast. It was located a little further out of town than I thought (I hadn't done my research properly), but I would definitely stay here again.

I was contacted prior to check in and the process was clearly explained. Contactless check-in was a fantastic idea as we were not under pressure to be there by a certain time. This allowed us to catch up with family and friends prior to going to our room. Although we didn’t have breakfast, it was a lovely touch to have a tray prepared and left in the fridge by the team. The bed was super comfortable, room was very clean and tidy, all you needed was present in the room, we appreciated the air conditioning being on as it was a very warm day. We had drinks in the hotel section later that night. We enjoyed the location as it was easy to get to, and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. Although it’s an older building, it is very comfortable and very much a great place to stay The chocolates and biscuits for a lovely touch😊

The room was extremely well appointed, from the high quality bathroom products to the utensils in the kitchenette. The attention to detail and the extras provided ( such as the complimentary slices of sourdough bread and condiments) were great. The room had great lighting, loads of power points, and the ixl tastic in the bathroom was fantastic. The hotel is a short ride from Castlemaine city centre by car or taxi, or a gentle 45min walk. It is extremely quiet at night , a great location for those looking for somewhere quiet to stay. The room was small but comfortable. Finally, it was very easy and pleasant to communicate with the host.

The bed maybe was a little firm. The shower was a little on the small side.

As far as Motel's go, it was clean, had all the essentials and comfortable. For the price, although small in size (but not unexpected considering it's a motel room) it had all that we needed for an overnight stay (including a small fridge, tea/coffee facility and microwave). The bathroom was clean and the shower had good warm water pressure (also provided some lovely shampoo and body wash). The bed was comfortable with electric blanket which came in handy considering it was a very cold night and the heater for the room also worked well. Overall pleasant and very good value for money for a short stay. It is not in the heart of Castlemaine but a close enough short drive to shops.

Every little detail. The place has a beautiful vibration. It has bright natural light that warms the spirit. There are planty of crockery, basic kitchen appliances and food amenities such as 2 slices of bread (for 1 person) and assorted jams, teas and coffee. Just perfect. There was a beautiful welcoming letter, chocolates and flyers about local areas. The area is quiete with no many cars passing by, so you get a peaceful rest at night and day. The bathroom has 2 sink and mirrors, a very comfortable shower, clean floor mats, hairdrier, bathroom amenities and heat lamps. The contact less self check-in setting, with clear info about parking, room and key location, allows you to check in at your preferred time. Freshly refurbished, clean and welcoming.

There was nothing that i didn't like. Perhaps the parking was a bit tight, but it was still big enough for a big SUV and it felt safe spot; the room was a bit cold, but the heated blacket helped a lot. The room might be a bit small for 3-4 people (based on the number of beds there were in), but perfect for a couple or a single traveller.

The rooms were very clean, tidy and well finished. Comfy bed, good shower and a spacious bathroom with everything provided. We loved the local sourdough bread and condiments provided for breakfast and the variety and amount of delicious tea! Make sure you head to the hotel at the property offering snacks and an extensive beverage selection in a really interesting and comfortable space.

The patio/garden area through the sliding door is obviously a work in progress and needs a bit of attention.

Great location to stay overnight while visiting the Goldfields area. The room is well presented and comfortable. Having the hosts provide a breakfast of delicious sourdough bread and jams was a nice touch. Good explanation of the self check-in procedure made it easy to get into the room when we arrived. The motel surroundings are interesting as well. Went for a walk around the old diggings out the back of the motel and surprised a few kangaroos on the way. There's a craft market across the main road on Saturdays.

We loved everything about this motel! The location is great - we attended an event in Maldon, and it was just a short drive away. Loved the contactless check-in, meant we could arrive in our own time. Parking on site was great. Amenities were perfect, beautiful room with fantastic heating and electric blanket(!) We were welcomed with complimentary freshly baked sourdough bread to go with the complimentary condiments and tea/coffee for breakfast. A lovely touch.

Nothing - it was a perfect stay

Angela our host could not have been more helpful. Even calling when we left items behind and making it easy for us to retrieve them. We had such a lovely stay, all of us commented on how comfy the beds were and how warm and light the doinas were - slept so well! The bar at the front was lovely for a Friday night relaxed drink in the beer garden. Will be back 🥰❤️

It’s 5 mins drive from the town centre so you can’t walk in, we had a car so didn’t mind.

The room has everything one could ask for with extra touches like the Darrel Lea chocolates and the Lindt biscotti. Plus the milo :) The room and bathroom are exceptionally clean, the linen fresh and crisp and the caretaker - Ange - divine. She goes above and beyond to make the stay better than you could hope for. Ange even drove us to our party 10 mins away. Bless her. Yes, the property is not close to Castlemaine, but we ordered in a pizza from Dominoes - so much better than Dominoes in Melbourne. Added to everything else, on a warm night, one can sit in the little beer garden and enjoy the ambience.
