Maddie was great when checking us in. Offered us an upgrade to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. Room was fantastic, except for one small thing - the toilet lighting during the middle of the night could be improved. Breakfast was great. Gardens around facility were wonderful.

The staff and property was amazing. The food has to be one of the best I have ever eaten at a hotel before. The resturaunt was booked out for a function but we were still accommodated. Excellent. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Here is a direct comparison to a 5 star hotel in Kuala Lumpur. We were given maps, directions and helpful instructions on everything. Traders in KL which is of Shanggrila Pedigree did not organise proper parking and whilst the food was good is night and day when compared to the Argus in terms of freshness and flavour. On top of that Traders when asked by a tourist how to get around ie do taxis take credit card was only told no. No suggestions at all and when asked where the nearest exchange is they did not know. Peppers had a booked out restaurant due to a function but still organised for a table of two for us anyway. Now that is service.

Slightly over priced for a 4 star hotel that does not do room service. If only there was room service I would have been very happy. Also, I was surprised there was no netflix, stan, binge, apple tv or disney + and only foxtel.

Peppers is undoubtedly a beautiful hotel but it's the staff that truly made it shine for us. On arrival we were greeted by Cheyne who quickly became our best friend and looked after our every need. I've rarely felt so welcome and comfortable staying at a hotel for the first time. Big ups to Cheyne! The facilities were also great and we really enjoyed our drinks and dinner. We'll be back!

Our room smelt a bit musty - we assume because of the tub in there with carpet. But that's only a minor complaint!

This is a lovely hotel to spend a weekend getaway or a special occasion. I was wished a happy birthday at check-in and was delighted to find a bottle of sparkling wine in the room along with a birthday card. Our room (428) in one of the cabins was, I suspect also an upgrade as we booked a Queen but had a King bed - thank you to Management 😊! The room was very nicely decorated and well appointed with tea and coffee making facilities, minibar, fridge, robes, slippers, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. Snazzy tv with lots of options if you want to watch something. The main hotel building (the original Springs Hotel) and Villa Parma (an 1800's beauty) are lovely and have some wonderful architectural features as well as being beautifully decorated. The gardens are also quite lovely and make for some great photos. Breakfast is served in the Argus Restaurant and is very generous. To start is a continental prelude comprising fresh croissants, butter and jam, yoghurt with a delicious crunchy topping and fresh fruit. This is followed by a selection of delicious sounding a la carte options. We were still full from our dinner out the previous night and asked for simple poached eggs on toast which was easily accommodated. We would like to return sometime when Argus is open for dinner as we are sure it would be a special dining experience. A very enjoyable and special stay!

The bathrooms in the cabins could do with being updated. The fixtures and fittings were not very nice (cheap plastic toilet seats and brushes, tapware not overly nice either although the shower was dated, it was good) and filled holes in the tiles where there probably used to be a shelf above the basin.

Loved the decor and bed very comfortable. Great that breakfast was included. Fabulous balcony and enjoyd the in room spa bath.

The toilet did not work well. Only had enough water for one flush and then had to wait for an hour for it to fill to be able to flush again. So we had to use the toilets downstairs in the lounge area. For the price paid for each night, the mineral bath salts could have been replaced once we used them the first night. Being a mineral spa hotel we wanted to use the spa bath!

Complimentary wine and greeting cards was a very thoughtful welcome from the management that made us feel special to help us celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary milestone. Outdoor Spa - made us happy that our request to have a room with the outdoor spa was accommodated. Breakfast: very impressed with plating presentation - not to mention that breakfast we selected from the menu was very yummy! Staff: Very courteous and accommodating!

On arrival, the place looked fantastic and once inside, the place didn't disappoint. The surrounding area was breath taking with great eateries and awesome scenery. Breakfast was fantastic.. very delicious and the house, cafe style coffee was the cherry on top. The guy at reception when we arrived was fantastic and the mineral spa was very relaxing. Overall the staff, room and the property was exceptional and we had a very relaxing, great time. Will definitely be back.

Exceeded expectations. Very hard to find anything wrong.

The location is excellent for visiting the Daylesford/Hepburn area. The grounds are extensive and lovely. The old building where a la carte breakfast is served has the atmosphere of former days. Breakfast was an a la carte feast. Staff were all helpful and friendly.

We didn't like being in a room with people clomping about above us due to inadequate soundproofing. We would have preferred to be in the main building but twin rooms aren't available there.

The room was very comfortable. Loved the bed! So comfortable. I also enjoyed the opportunity to use an outdoor area right outside my room. The atmosphere in the hotel was warm and welcoming with plenty of areas to 'retreat' or sit quietly in the sunshine or in front of the fire. The staff went above and beyond to be helpful and make the stay special.

I understand that the building is old and under the Trust so that no elevators, etc are permitted, but I did feel that a dumb-waiter system would be an improvement for those with rooms upstairs. There is no issue with getting myself upstairs but getting luggage up and down the stairs is challenging. Thank you to the staff who were willing to help with this, but it can't be any easier for them than it is for the guests. Health and Safety must be a consideration.

beautiful grounds, easy to get to spa facility onsite, loved the Gatsby room and golden bath, comfortable spot, I loved the breakfasts and attention upon arrival with complimentary bubbly.

pillows weren’t so comfortable, there wasn’t enough choice on breakfast menu..my husband is a type 1 diabetic and would have been happy if there was a muesli cereal and milk option and/or a variety of breads to toast like whole meal, multi grain. whilst on our first morning he thought he’d try the bircher muesli offered it was not to his liking so on our second morning he didn’t have any breakfast as the other options weren’t breakfast options he could have.
