My room was clean and had everything in it, enough for a single occupant for the entire time of my stay. It was near the main road with just a ten or maybe fifteen minute walk to town but also not far from the bus stop.

There was a bit of road noise, Mc Killop Street is very busy and there was an ambulance and fire station nearby, but, I found you did get used to it. Also, the train station was nearby too, sometimes you heard the odd train but being from Melbourne I am no stranger to traffic noise. Since my last visit here, many years ago, the motel has aged somewhat and in places does show it. The shower stall in places was looking old and parts of the room, bench top where you put your tray looked a little worse for wear.

The receptionists were all kind and attentive. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with lots of amenities. Parking was convenient and included in the price. I swam in the small outdoor pool which was nice.

There were a few accessibility issues. I didn't see any indication on their page that half the rooms are upstairs and there's no elevators. There is no nonslip mat in the bathroom and there's a little slant between the bathroom and the hallway which could cause some trouble for people with mobility issues. The pool doesn't have a handrail for the stairs and the doors sometimes need an extra push. Other than that, it was good! It would be nice to have a streaming service or on demand option for the TV, and despite a huge information packet in my room I couldn't find instructions on how to check out (you just drop your key in the box - so easy!) But overall very good.

Pros: + Value for money (when I booked around Christmas) + Close to city amenities. I didn't have a car so had to walk a bit. Otherwise its close to the pier. + Room was fairly clean. Why fairly? Check the cons section. + Bedding and pillows were nice and clean.

Cons: + Room had quite a strong smell of bleach. Took sometime to get used to it. Some may find it irritating. + The toilet was clean but we find some insects coming out. The shelf did contain an insect killer like it was expected. So be careful if you have children.

We chose Admiralty Inn because of the location to the CBD of Geelong and to the Port for boarding The Spirit of Tasmania. The room had everything you needed for a one night's stay and was great for a walk into town on the night, although the Inn did have it's own restaurant if you had wanted to eat there. We were located in the far corner of the Inn, which was quiet and away from the road noise of the main road outside.

Nothing.

Better than your typical motor inn. The lady at reception was polite and informative. My room was very clean and tidy, although the entry door rattled quite a bit (it was a very blustery day). The bed was very comfortable, and it was surprisingly quiet considering the number of cars there in the morning compared to when I turned in. Either a very sound-proof room, or considerate fellow guests. All in all, a pretty good place for a stopover.

Just a bit of maintenance on the entry door, and a new battery in TV remote, would be good.

We were welcomed warmly from the get-go and concisely directed to our room which was minimal but modernly furnished, clean and cosy! More than enough facilities for a one-night stay, including shampoo and handwash, towels, hairdryer, dishware and microwave. Despite being a motel, it's public transport friendly - a 20min scenic walk from Geelong train station. We were even offered a thank you gift on check-out and returnee discount - will definitely be returning to make use of it!

We enjoyed watching a movie on our laptop, but would have loved HDMI facility to make use of the TV in the room.

The location was great! Within walking distance of everything. The Breakfast room was great. The beds were extremely comfortable. Rooms very clean and the check in/out manager was really lovely and made sure we were looked after.

Cleaning staff were quite loud while I was trying to sleep. The pool was smaller than the pictures looked and wasn't clean enough to use.

The room was big and nicely decorated. We were able to walk around Geelong but the attractions / restaurants were a few blocks away. It was an easy 10 minute drive to the Spirit of Tasmania wharf.

The room we stayed in was along McKillop St is a busy road during the day and has some traffic noise at night. The windows are double glazed and had block out curtains so the noise was minimal except for trucks and buses. There are other rooms away from the road.

Totally recommend this motel. Exceptionally comfortable bed. Hot shower. Fridge, microwave plates and cutlery. Everything we needed. Manager was very welcoming. We didn't have a car and it was about 1km from Downtown shops and supermarket and from there about 200m to the beach...so great location.

Not a dislike but the pool isn't as big as the picture.....it's really quite small but it was clean and we had a refreshing dip after walking all day...it isn't heated.

The girl in reception was lovely and very informative. The room was big and the bed was very comfortable. I liked the fact there was a fridge and Tea/coffee and biscuits. The shower had a great shower head and there were plenty of towels. The ease of booking a taxi to the station.

There was a lot of external noise and the room was very cold. The carpet was a bit frayed near the door which could have been a trip hazard. The television channels were a bit limited.
