Room was good and clean we didn't spend much time in it so size was ok. bed comfortable and shower good.
Parking was not good and expensive for a 24 hour period if you used it. Parking down the street in 3 hour zone is unacceptable. The thing that we were VERY disappointed in was the fact that there were 2 flag poles out the front of the building one flag was the Novatel flag and the other was the aboriginal flag. NO AUSTRALIAN FLAG!!!!!!! So there should be 3 flag poles in our opinion or remove the Novatel Flag or the ABORIGINAL flag - the ABORIGINEES are AUSTRALIANS TOO - or are they a different identity all together - or are we all Aboriginal and entitled to the same rights. This needs to be fixed for us to consider staying again.

Good location
The bed & pillows were very uncomfortable and gave us both bad back aches. The mattresses had a sag in them which felt like you were sinking and the joining of 2 single mattresses had a hump.

Outstanding location Phenomenal view Comfortable bed Quick and professional room service
Aircon (cooling, heating) blows directly onto bed-unpleasant occasionally Insufficient and inadequate sound insulation (separation) of toilet from the room-sliding door allow for sounds from bathroom to be heard in the room. Insufficient ventilation-if toilet used then smells linger for some time and toilet becomes unpleasant to use. Awkward access to car(valet parking, no direct access to car if you need to take some things left in car), however staff is efficient in fetching the car from parking Unreliable locking mechanism on balcony door (room 622) Peeling paint on balcony wall

Staff were extremely helpful and kind, very professional. They did offer valet parking at the hotel for a fee, which if you're driving would be highly suggested due to the lack of public parking that's not time restrictive. Very close to the peer, which makes a great night walk, in the centre of some gorgeous restaurants and a really great ice cream shop. While it is waterfront, it's a short walk to the beach, so it's in an overall fantastic location. Offers great facilities for guests, the pool is slightly warmed, and the family games room has some really great options - my family spent both nights after adventure all day using the facilities. The rooms are very standard for a hotel and great if you're planning on being out all day. The beds are very comfortable, and the pillows are soft.
I can't really pinpoint anything I didn't like. It would be nice to have a toaster or something in the rooms for easy breakfasts!

The location, room, bed and Tempo (the bar downstairs) were great. I would highly recommend a stay here and it was good value for money.
I checked out in the morning but left my luggage with reception. When I came back to collect my luggage, I had to wait in line for close to an hour to get it (the guy before me told me his wait was an actual hour). It seemed like everyone checking in had an issue with their room. Then other people walked in off the street and straight up to reception and got served before those of us who had been waiting in line. It was Christmas Eve and the staff were no doubt stressed but surely management would have known the number of guests checking in that day and staffed accordingly.

The Novotel itself was fantastic. Could not fault service or facilities and location.
The buffet breakfast was a huge let down and waste of money and the staff at Tempo were defensive. If you don't have enough guests just provide them with fresh cooked option. The hashbrowns were rock hard, bacon dry and chewy, all bakery items were dry and stale( I'm sure they were yesterdays) and no one touched the full plate of pancakes the top obe was so dry it had curled up. We asked for fresh hashbrowns twice before they were replaced, which got an eye roll from staff.

Situated in an excellent location so many great eateries and bars a stones throw away Staff are very friendly, our room wasn't ready on time so they gave us a couple of drink vouchers and a Complementary bottle of wine
There was no room service unless you ask for it. Parking is a bit pricey at $40 per day In the Accessibility room the bathroom door is not very private, gap that shows straight to toilet There was no plug for the handbasin

Both my friend and I are elderly and disabled (90 an 76 years) and early access to was very much appreciated plus our room was close to lift and had all the safety rails and an shower seat to make our stay safe and comfortable. We had sea views and rear, close access to city shops. 'The service and food in restaurant was excellent. We were celebrating a birthday so the meals were important part of our stay
The cost of the in room bar food. The two mars bars were stale! The 3pm check in is far too late (fortunately due to the compassionate and efficient staff we were able to access our room earlier) especially as we could only stay one night.

The bed was super comfortable and the room was very spacious. The toiletries weren't your typical mini sized hotel ones but instead huge bottles that could easily last you a weeks stay and our room was super clean as well as the bathroom. We only stayed for a long weekend, but where we were location wise was brilliant if you want to be right at the beach front, a short walk to shopping centers or cafes, restaurants and bars. Overall our stay was super comfortable and would defo stay again when we revisit Geelong! It was a bit pricey as well but for your location I personally think its worth it!
Only thing we didn't enjoy was the pool, when we went in it it felt as though it was very high in chlorine to the point that our hair and skin felt really dried out and kind of sticky

We stayed in the bay view room , the view was spectacular especially sunrise and sunset. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was clean . Everything was walking distance from the hotel . Tempo restaurant which is situated on the bottom of the hotel was exceptional, the food was delicious. Definitely recommend stay here !!
The cleanliness in the pool area , maybe a toaster in the room also ! The price of $40 a night for parking was overwhelming to it should be covered in stay .
