The property is lovely & quiet yet within walking distance to the cafe's, bars & restaurants of Rutherglen (generally the wineries are out of town). The 2 bedroom unit we stayed in was very spacious, clean & comfortable. I can recommend the Victoria Hotel for a meal and James & Co (cellar Door) in the main street for a fun wine tasting experience! We enjoyed a delicious 3 course lunch with matched wines at Jones Winery on Sunday when we arrived as part of the "Dark Side of Wine" festival (it was walking distance from our accommodation). Make sure you visit the Rutherglen Visitor Information Centre - it has friendly, informative staff and a great range of local products.

We had quite a long leg of driving between Melbourne and Canberra and were looking for a place to break this in two halves. We found this hotel/winery, which was exactly what we were looking for: a winery with tasting, a very good restaurant and a hotel. The rooms are big, almost apartment sized, with a big bathroom and a terrace overlooking the vines. No worries about storage space here and of course there's a well-stocked fridge (stocked with wine of course ;) ). The town is in walking distance, and a wine tasting is included in the room, which we of course did. No worries about parking either, there's plenty and it's free.

Nothing negative to say, other than we'd have liked to stay another night ;)

Great size rooms and close to town. Renovated bathroom with great shower and plenty of space

Breakfast was very basic and probably not worth the $$$ for two slices of toast. Also unfortunately (not the accomm's fault) families let their kids roam unsupervised in the breakfast like it was a children's playground - which did detract from our experience of an, 'adult' weekend. Perhaps some more guidance to supervise kids might be good.Great stay and would definetely stay again.

Three adults stayed in a two bedroom unit for two nights. The room was comfortable, spacious and clean and suitable for three adults. The spacious bathroom was just fully renovated with an excellent shower. The beds had an electric blanket and there was central heating/cooling for the unit. The kitchenette was well equipped. The car park was easy walking distance from the unit which overlooked the olive grove garden. The breakfast was good, especially with one hot option available. We had dinner at the restaurant which was very good and had a wine tasting for free as we were accommodation guests. The town centre is a very short drive or an easy walk if preferred. Would not hesitate staying here again.

The king bed in the main bedroom was a little firm.

My wife, her sister and I stayed in a lovely two bedroom suite. The surrounding grounds were beautiful. It was quiet, well located to the town and easy car access to wineries, distilleries, great restaurants and cafes. We are plenty of great food, and drank plenty of beautiful wine. It was a lovely mid-year getaway. The staff were delightful!

The only, very mild, disappointment was that there is no cooked breakfast during the week, only on weekends. The breakfast provided was certainly fine, but just the basics. It would have been nice to have been able to have a poached egg.

Fabulous location. Easy walking distance from the centre of town yet still enough space to relax in a calm setting. The staff were all very friendly, in particular Bernie who was exceptionally helpful with recommendations about the local area and was also very knowledgeable about the De Bortoli wine.

An EV charging facility would have been convenient. However, there was one within walking distance of the hotel.

Lovely large room opening onto a deck with a stunning view over the vineyard. Bathroom has a large bath and walk in shower so lots of room. Had a brilliant meal in their restaurant, highly recommend the wagyu. Enjoyed a wine tasting at their cellar door. Breakfast was a continental offering and I loved the granola with Greek yoghurt and berry compote. Such a relaxing place with lots of birdlife. Staff were superb.

Leaving!

Great location, all staff were welcoming and friendly. Lovely wine tasting and dinner in restaurant was mostly great. Let down on 1 dish -wine excellent. Room was lovely and 2 couples comfortable although be mindful that second bedroom is 2 singles.

Room servicing very slow. Room not ready on arrival after 2. Had to wait. Room on second day not serviced as it was well into the afternoon so we just asked for fresh towels. The room attendants were doing their best but maybe more needed since it just didn’t happen once.

We had an outstanding person looking after us at breakfast -not only did Bernie look after our breakfast needs but she was so knowledgeable about the area. We took her advice - and sure as you could be she was perfectly correct. She was an absolute delight every morning and showed real concern for our stay. Great staff member and advertisement for your company.

The hotel, grounds, rooms and staff are excellent. I always love a hotel that provides quality individual bathroom amenities - I usually score a few extra to take home and I get reminded of the place when I use these again later on. The restaurant is high-end and we enjoyed a superb meal there. Stay 3 or more nights and get a free bottle of wine to take home - bonus! The in room tea/coffees are all top-brand stuff.

I would have loved to know how to call the room next door. We had an old couple in the room next to us (think needing hearing aids) who decided to watch The Masters Golf tournament live broadcast from 2am to 7am keeping us awake. Fortunately that was only for one night. I love my morning coffee, while they do offer one barista-made coffee per person, the breakfast buffet is missing an automatic coffee machine (I came across one in a recent stay that puts most baristas to shame!).
