Nice comfortable hotel and staff all helpful with local knowledge and advice for getting into the centre of town. Hotel is ideal if you are attending the football stadium (which we were), otherwise it is quite a way out of the town centre and associated amenities

Location is not the best if you are visiting the city itself and not the football stadium (which is literally 100yds away). As we were there for the football this was not a negative but otherwise be wary of the distance from the town centre - its a bus and tram ride away

The room was huge and the beds were comfortable. There are secure parking lots in front of the hotel for 19 euros. The breakfast was the best in Belgium, only hotel offering fruit salad from five different hotels! (generally speaking, the breakfasts were not great in Belgium).

It is a bit away from the city centre, but there is Bus 8 that goes to the centre: get bus tickets at the hotel, otherwise have some credit cards ready to buy tickets on the bus. One credit card per person! You can't buy two tickets on one credit card.

It was the cheapest option for 4 people at 00:00 with the breakfast included. The reception works 24/7. The breakfast is fine, it's up to 10:00 weekdays. Tasty coffee and pastry. The hotel is clean. Comfy beds and pillows. Room is big enough. The receptionist was very friendly. Elevator is fast and convenient for disabled. Met two funny bunnies running near the hotel at night.

Pretty noisy at night due to location near the main road. When you close the windows you can hear every sneeze of your neighbors. Woke up 5 o'clock because they checked out. When we got to the room the air wasn't fresh in the room. Expensive parking. Wifi isn't perfect

The Hotel has a standard, and you don't come across unpleasant surprises. The beds are fine, and the room is spacious and clean. The breakfast is enough, not very rich but not bad. The hotel is very close to the autobahn you don't need to deal with city center traffic, you immediately start your journey by car. There is a big car park dedicated to Hotel customers.

The Hotel is very close to the autobahn, and there is always noise in your room, even you close the windows. The breakfast is slightly less kind compared to the weekend and the weekdays.

Simply everything! Very close to the city center by bus (takes only about 10 minutes), clean and large room, clean sheets, excellent breakfast.

That's not a big problem but there was no slipper in the room. When requested, the receptionist told us why they do not provide slipper (being an express-type hotel). When the gentleman saw my disappointment about this, he tried to go and find a slipper. Thankfully, he could find one (which is awesome). Anyway, as I said, that's not a big issue that was quickly solved from my perspective.

IHG has a ‘Clean Promise’ which you can read it everywhere in the hotel. They score exceptionally high on this one considering the number of families with children who use the hotel. Keep up the good work! The staff is also friendly and helpful. One of them (Lorena, if am not mistaken) helped us correct a mistake with our points which some places had missed. As a family, we enjoyed our stay. It’s a good value for money.

Breakfast choices are limited but it’s not bad at all. We’ll book again with breakfast included.

The room was comfortable and spacious.

The hotel wasn't prepared good for breakfast. We came around 10 o'clock and evening was empty but still around 40-50 people in breakfast room and a lot of new people still coming.. We had to wait 15 minutes to get some cutlery. One girl was just apologising to everyone because she was alone trying to serve breakfast for so many people. It isn't her fault. It is a bad management who organised the daily routine. We also had to wait about 15mins for check-in because there was only one receptionist.

Extremely well equipped hotel, helpful friendly staff, big comfy bed, air conditioning in room, dove shower gel and shampoo in bathroom, the television in room even had some English TV channels which is unusual in Europe, the breakfast was very good with plenty of choice, I am amazed that I read a couple of negative reviews about the breakfast as the morning we ate here the breakfast was excellent.

Car park is ridiculously expensive, it should be free, no evening meals on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings which is a shame (and strange), we would have eaten in the restaurant had it been open on Friday night. Apart from that it is an excellent hotel.

It was comfort stay for our family with 2 kids. Actually the room has been upgraded and quite a roomy it was, with kitchen and fridge. Location was also convenient for drivers as it is just next to the motorway.

Extra bed (sofa bed) was bit too soft but it is not unique with this hotel - it is always soft in case it is sofa bed. It will be great if a kind of selection of cheese also offered at the breakfast. Otherwise it is very good.

Our stay at Holiday Inn Express Gent was very good. It's a great value for money. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are serviced very well. The generous breakfast buffet is a great way to start the day.

The rooms have thin walls, so sometimes you can hear the traffic from outside or noises from the neighboring rooms, but this was not a huge issue. The hotel is quite outside the main city, so getting there in the night (after 10:30 pm) with public transport is not always convenient.
