Room was very big and the bed was extremely comfy. We were on the ground floor right next to the main door to the reception but everyone used the side door so we were not disturbed by noise.

The bathroom did not have any shower gel or shampoo. We could hear a dog barking in another room and right above our room there was a child running around. We avoided the breakfast as we had seen the reviews are poor. We hired bicycles for 25 euro each per day and found they were very expensive. The bicycles are priced at 20 euro each on the info book in the room.

The hotel was all that was promised and then some! I recently stayed at this hotel and was thoroughly impressed by the serene and calming atmosphere. When we arrived, we were greeted by 2 small cats who walked us to the front door which was cute. The room was spotless, and the attention to cleanliness was evident throughout the entire property. What truly set this hotel apart was the fresh and pleasant scent that greeted me the moment I walked in—such a refreshing touch! If you're looking for a quiet and relaxing stay where you can unwind in a clean, comfortable environment, this is the perfect place. I’ll definitely be back on my next trip! 5 stars all the way!

That we didn't stay longer :/

Hotel Torenhof is a memorable place to stay, a beautiful old house set in extensive gardens, which was once the home of a famous painter. It is in a lovely village just outside Ghent, with large properties and a real feeling of being in the countryside, although it is close to the city. There is a beautiful walk down to the river and a splendid restaurant in the village. It is supremely peaceful - we loved having an evening drink in the cool of the garden after driving all day. Our room was stylish and the bed very comfortable.

It was unusually hot (31 degrees) and when we arrived our room was stifling, as the air conditioning didn’t work. The staff brought us a fan which made sleeping bearable, but it is important to note that the staff go off duty at 7pm, so if we had complained about the heat after that, there would have been no one to help.

Stunning building, beautiful surroundings, with the lovely Sint-Martens-Latem town, shops and nature walkable too. The building itself has a lot of history with art on the wall in the dining hall that was painted by an artist who lived there. Breakfast was available at the property. We had a contactless check-in with a door code which was fast and easy (although be warned, the phone reception is basically non-existent at the property).

The shower in the room was a bit broken which wasn’t ideal. The breakfast was ok, but not amazing, and that was exacerbated by the fact there were some significant differences on our first and second mornings (the second morning was a little better).

The location is special, in a residential area, surrounded by the forest, a place of serenity. The car is a must, since the village is far away from everything.

The trash, empty bottles and other leftovers from previous clients were still in the kitchen when we checked in. Not to mention the carpet from the living room, for sure it didn't "see " the vacuum cleaner, considering the pet hair. All these inconveniences are manageable in order to provide an excellent customer experience.

Quiet location, convenient for visiting Ghent. We liked the numerous signed cycling routes enabling exploration avoiding main roads. The room was comfortable with a modern bathroom (walk in shower, no bath). Check in was straightforward even arriving after reception had closed.

Tea and coffee making supplies weren't replenished for our second day which would have been nice. We went out for the day and by the time we got back reception had closed so we couldn't request them. Signage to the lift from the side entrance staircase would be useful for late arrivals.

Hotel Torenhof is like a private castle hiddden in the coutryside of Sint Martens Latem. The location is very quiet, surrounded by trees with ample parking space. After 19:00 you check yourself in without problems. There is no evening bar, restaurant or room service. There is coffee and tea in the rooms. There is a beautiful garden with tables and chairs and the Leie, the beautiful river is at 500 meters. There is a free ferry service during the day to cross the river. You can also rent boats a little further down the river and enjoy one of the most scenic rivers in Flanders, a living painting. Close to Ghent, one hour from Brugge and add 30 minutes more and you are in Oostende or Knokke. One hour to Brussels outside of traffic hours. And the best, the young team helping you with what you need. Great service, great location at a great price.

The hotel was super, lovely room on the ground floor, spacious, spotless with good facilities including tea and coffee making facilities. Check-in was very straightforward. The person on Reception was very helpful, telling us where we could eat and that there was a festival in the area, which we attended - live music was great. A lovely old house and garden, it was a super place to end out two-week trip.

We didn't have breakfast as we were leaving for the ferry but it smelled delicious. It would need to be - 19 euros is a bit on the steep side for breakfast.

The hotel is in a quiet, peaceful and extremely enchanting location. There is a garden with trees and a pond. It is close to a forest. The room was clean and tidy, although the overall design could have been better (this is especially true of the leopard-coloured carpet on the floor). The bathroom is nice, modern and tastefully done.

The breakfast. When you serve breakfast with a small selection of dishes, it's worth trying to make each dish outstanding, made with local ingredients and really tasty. Bread can be baked right on the spot, the juice should be freshly squeezed, since there is only one kind of juice and not many others to drink. Not so lucky if you ran out of blueberries which were the only berries to make granola. The fruit could have been served better, pre-cut and refreshed frequently. The cheese could have been from a local farmer rather than a mass-market product. And so on, and so forth. Although the table setting, impeccable cleanliness and the vintage feel of the furniture design was pleasing to the eye.

A wonderful place, located near the village. Very quiet day and night with nice walking paths around in the forest. By car it's only a short drive of some minutes to the center of Gent. The building is old but tastefully decorated and very clean, generous room with a large bathroom. Also the garden is nicely arranged and well maintained, with areas to sit and relax.

If you travel with your dogs be aware, they charge per dog and per night. Ok, those are the rules. But still a bit disconcerting, because the room is certainly not specially cleaned every day and certainly not twice when two dogs were there.
