Little River Guest House is an amazing place to spend anywhere from one day to one month, and more. The owners have done a wonderful job with restoring the 19th century house, striking a balance between old-timey charm and authenticity and modern functionality. The garden was beautifully landscaped and looked like straight out of a fairytale. And then there was the centerpiece of my stay - the Food. I wouldn't have thought that two men from the UK would grasp the soul of Middle Eastern/Balkan/North African food so well. Extremely tasty, could eat what they cook every day. In summary, I would recommend this place to anyone looking to spend some magical days in the mountain, and I will definitely go back again.

We had wonderful, peaceful and quiet time as guests of Little River Guest House. This is a gem hidden in a beautiful wild forest great for hiking or just spending chill time among nature. The hosts are very pleasant and very hospitable people. We felt very welcomed and cared for at all times of our stay. They cooked delicious and exciting breakfast and dinner as we had dishes that we never tried before. The house is very authentic, feels almost like you live in a museum except for the fact that unlike a museum, this place felt very 'homey' - cozy and comfortable. The bed was supercomfortable with duck down pillows and duvet, which is real luxury for Bulgaria. If you are a person that enjoys peaceful breaks in nature settings and old-style authenticity but with comfort - this is a wonderful place to stay. We will most certainly come back again!

I loved it. The place is fairy tale like. We were in the Annex, we had a garden view and a street view also. It was extremely quiet and clean. Every morning we woke up to birds singing and it was absolute bliss. To be honest words fail me in describing the whole experience and it is best that you come see/feel it for yourself. Once you meet the guys, their oriental cooking, the numerous cats coming and going, the flowers, the wooden ceilings and everything else you will surely want to stay. For me it was special because it took me back to my childhood garden, growing up in rural Romania and the feeling was overwhelming. As I already mentioned it is not a place to stay, it is an experience.

Wifi was not always working, so if you do not to disconnect to your social life that cand be a bit of a problem. Our personal mobile internet did not work either.

Lovely peaceful place with the nicest and most welcoming hosts. This is the perfect place to escape the daily hassle and recharge the batteries. At the same time it is conveniently located near many wonderful sights. Charming mix of old and modern. Lovely cosy rooms with very comfortable beds. The hosts cook absolutely delicious food and most important, they deal with any dietary requirements. We were so happy to be able to taste any of the tempting breakfast options and enjoy divine desserts although we are on a gluten free diet. Would definitely return and definitely recommend.

The place is very peaceful, situated in this small village very close to Gabrovo. The forest is just a couple of minutes walking distance from the house. The house is very beautifully renovated and preserved, still there is a modern touch in the decorations. The room was clean and comfortable. The food is unbelievably tasty. One of the few places in Bulgaria to offer high quality food and great accommodation for a very affordable price. Perfect for a weekend getaway from the crowded and noisy city.

The first thing worth mentioning is the unique atmosphere of the place. Traditional style sparkled by modern amenities makes the place perfect for taking a break in the hurried every-day life. Excluded from the outside world and peaceful, the place is perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing and exploring. The bed and the bath were the best. The second thing is that the hosts are nothing like you've ever seen before. Their hospitality is something that is rare these days. They are exceptionally kind and understanding. They make the most delicious breakfast ever. I felt like I was in the best restaurant in the world. They combine different cuisines and make wonders. The coffee was the greatest and they are ready to make it for you at all times. The third and final thing is that they have a huge collection of books in English in addition to some board games which were perfect for the rainy nights. Our stay was made really memorable by the hosts and the guest house and we are looking forward to going back again to this little piece of heaven.

The only inconvenience so to say was that the phone reception was nonexistent but there was wifi in all places of the house.

It was like traveling in the time ❤️ A place with a unique energy, created with a lot of love and attention to every detail🤩 Everything that has annoyed you in other hotels or houses is avoided here - this is your vacation - you can have breakfast when you want, you are not bothered with annoying procedures for checking in and there is exceptional attitude to you as a customer 👏 The food is just perfect 💯 Highly recommend this place 🔝🔝🔝 You'll feel like you've visited an old good friend, and you'll definitely want to come back again 😊

The guest house is a perfect place to escape from the stress and distraction of daily life and spend a quiet holiday in the central Balkan. There are cultural/heritage sites accessible by car, as well as tourist trails in the mountains. We preferred to visit nearby attractions in the mornings and spend lazy afternoons in the house garden in the company of a friendly feline friend. I definitely recommend visiting this location if you're looking for a quiet and peaceful vacation in nature. Also very much worth noting is that the hosts are amazing cooks and prepare fresh and original meals every day, which were a definite highlight of our stay here.

Wonderful accommodations, and OMG THE FOOD! The guesthouse comprises several renovated traditional Bulgarian farm buildings set around a lovely central stone courtyard with gardens and seating areas. Our room was clean and large with a comfortable bed and a massive gleaming bathroom, complete with 2-person soaking tub and a functional American-style shower. All that was nice, but what we did not expect was the quality of the food. If you stay here, you MUST dine here, too. Seriously, the food is too good to miss, and this praise comes from a jaded foodie. The guesthouse hosts, Paul and Andrew, in addition to being fabulous people, are chef-quality meal designers. Local, seasonal, organic ingredients are masterfully prepared, and the Al fresco setting is simply wonderful. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. It’s in a great location near many natural wonders and attractions, it’s well-managed by passionate hosts, and then there’s the FOOD.

I didn't like, I LOVED everything about this place! I know it might be silly to repeat whay other guests have said, however it is all true! Paul and Andrew are the most incredible hosts! Their food is next level, I have never eaten more delicious dishes in my 28 years of life! The setting is beautiful, the location is peaceful and yet close to some amazing places of interest such as the Etara, Shipka, different monasteries, Veliko Tarnovo and of course Gabrovo. The room is super cosy, clean and perfect to stay in any season of the year. The beds are incredibly comfortable, the bathrooms are very generous and has everything you need. I almost never write reviews but I feel I absolutely need to here because both Paul and Andrew (and Kitty the cat) deserved it.! Thank you for everything ❤️ ♥️ 💛 💗 💕 💖 Kris & Graham
