Lots of small touches - the huge toiletries bottles but also bars of soap, info available on the tv, pen and paper on the big desk. The pool and gym, steam room and hot tub were beautiful and even though we didn't use the spa, we felt super relaxed by the atmosphere. Super location to all the good stuff in downtown Calgary.

Had some issues overnight with the water in the bathroom, which was explained in the morning by the concierge - but perhaps we should have received notification of the issue. Such a charming, historic building it would be nice to have more common areas to sit and hang out, not just the bar or (extra) lounge.

Wow, what an incredible stay! The hotel's staff made me feel like royalty, and the stunning room and delightful food added to the experience. I must mention a special incident during my stay - I accidentally left my laptop, but the staff promptly found and safely returned it to my home. Their exceptional service and honesty went above and beyond my expectations. I can't stop raving about this fantastic experience. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to relive those unforgettable moments and experience the hotel's outstanding hospitality again!

Always a wonderful experience at the Fairmount. Staff make or break any hotel. Their staff were exceptional.

Just need to update their information on their websites to let people know that the bar fridge in the rooms isn't a fridge and doesn't keep things cold. That way travellers can request a fridge if needed to keep medication cold. Once we discovered the issue. The staff promptly provided us with a fridge and ice. (Apparently this is the same for all Fairmount hotels.) Not all travellers book through a travel agent.

The Hotel is an old Grand hotel.. I booked thru booking.com and called the property to upgrade and paid extra for the upgrade, unfortunately the bathroom was 2x2 ft.. it was so small, I could not stand there with my wife as the same time, one of us had to leave.. its shame such a nice hotel have closet size bathrooms, and that was for an upgraded room. I could imagine the size of the bathroom in standard rooms. Besides the bathroom issue, we had enjoyable stay.

The size of the bathroom, super small.. and the lighting in the lobby depressingly dim.

Location was excellent. We watched the Stampede parade from the steps of the hotel. The room had more than we expected, it was well stocked and the beds were comfortable. When a problem with the air on happened, staff were ready to fix it.

A late night request never materialised, I guess we were forgotten. The room was very cold and the heater provided on request was too tiny to make a difference. Everyone was expecting a tip for everything, which became annoying at some point.

The pool was amazing, and the kids loved it! It had the best blue light in there. The robes were a nice touch. Beds were so comfortable. Didn't hear the busy street below. Walking distance to lots of restaurants. The whole hotel was amazing and so well maintained.

Parking: the valet was $50 vs parking at the parking lot across the street would have been $3 :(

The man outside the hotel who took care of valet parking was exceptional. My husband had a cut on his finger and the man noticed this and offered to go get him a bandaid. He arrived with the bandaid plus a towelette to cleanse his finger. Very kind of him and above and beyond good service.

The food in the lobby was poor. We would not return to eat dinner there. The Pisco sours were very good though. Tha bathroom in room 1016 is very small for two people occupying the room. There are no grab bars in the bath tub area. The maid did bring us a non skid mat when I requested it.

My wife and I took breakfast in the restaurant and the waitress rushed us through the celebration as we we’re obviously tourists celebrating having the leisure and the means to do so. This in comparison to a business group of three who were given all the time in the world to complete their business.

The hotel lived up to its reputation. Beautiful colonial-style hotel. The lobby was decorated for Christmas and it looked magical. The staff was exceptionally friendly and efficient. The valet guys went above and beyond to fix our flat tire and send us on our way safely. Exceptional hospitality. One of my favorite hotels in the world.

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Bathrooms were very large. Hotel restaurant was amazing. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Staff didn't tell us about the facility when we arrived. I didn't realize there was a pool until we checked out. They also didn't inform us about the discount we could receive from eating in the restaurant. We learned that from our server. I wish we had been given some further options about our room location. Our kids would have enjoyed a view as we are not in Calgary often.
