Homewood Suites by Hilton Calgary Downtown

Hotel and staff were very good and helpful, housekeeping were good. Location next to the Light Transit train was very good as what the free downtown fare zone. Access to 8th Ave was in a quick walking distance. Also the SuperStore across the street was very good to get everything you need for a stay in a suite.

The location of the homeless hostel just behind the hotel was not very nice, with drugged up homeless people on the streets around the hotel, but the hotel did lock their doors to prevent any access by them. We did experience some very noisy and violent homeless during our stay, but this seemed to be directed to the college across the street. The swimming pool didn't meet expectations from the photo on Booking.com.

Rooms are nice and spacious with an open view. You could easily stay here for a long term if needed.

Two different locations for breakfast dividing clients. Breakfast wasn't complete anymore by the time we arrived. Having to get new cards the second day to get in the gym and pool. No robes in the room so walking back to your room wet from the pool. Junkies and homeless are all over the area. They don't harrass you or anything but it isn't a pretty sight.

The staff was awesome, very freindly and helpful. Gave treats to the dogs and remembered our names. Could better service for matinence, front desk, management and cleaning staff all qere exceptional.

I know they are working to fix up the pool and hot tub as previous managment let the facilities run down. So facilities are not yet 100% but I am sure in near future it will be like when they first opened.

Room was good . Good supply of towels and kitchen stuff. Fantastic location with underground parking so no stress of searching for parking. Good choice of food. The hotel on the whole was very clean and very friendly staff. I was very impressed that I was called to inform that my vehicle window was open. That shows you take care of your customers.

AC was a little noisy and in between the room got little warm. Didn't like the bath cubicle door opening only on one side. I couldn't reach the shower knob without getting splashed with cold water. Not a fan of the pancakes served. Dry edges. Food could have been hotter instead luke warm.

Good location. Clean and comfortable. Felt like home with having the little kitchen area. Pool was nice and so was the spa.

The breakfast was nice but lacked variety with just a choice of ham every day and the omelets were not as hot and fresh as they could be. Parking shouldn't cost as much. $25 a day was pretty steep you would think they would make that a more affordable option for guests. Your only other option is lots nearby and then you have to pay on an app every day. Sometimes I felt uncomfortable with the large amount of homeless people hanging around outside when taking our dogs out the back door area.

The room was uber spacious. I loved the suite. I also loved the food in the restaurant. It was tasty, as well as the bar service. The reception staff were outstanding. Extremely helpful: welcoming (even helped with my luggage from the taxi), offered great advise on must-see places and how to get there, as well as eateries, supermarkets and everything in general. The property is also so well located next to the Calgary Train service, as well as most locations you’d want to visit. There is a Tim Hortons next door, for those who may want a change for breakfast. It was highly convenient for me as a solo business traveller and (part-time tourist). I truly liked the team there. I even had issues with my laundry missing and laundry charges, and they resolved them before I checked out and on my card, without much ado. And I was allowed a late check out. They were extremely kind and warm, offering the true Calgary reception. Thank you so much to the great team! I will return to Calgary, partly on account of your memorable hospitality.

The breakfast got monotonous after two days. It could do with more options and creativity/ flavour. Perhaps also put a scouring sponge and small bottle of dish washing liquid in the room as a standard for all guests who may wish to clean their on-the-go water bottles or what-not during their stay for convenience. I was comfortable with everything else.

Clean and tidy rooms that were quite large. Well maintained and friendly staff. Within walking distance of food places, little shops and a train station. There was a shopping centre for food and liquor across the road. Close to attractions like the Calgary Zoo, which was only a short drive away.

The TV in the room wasn't a smart TV that could hook up to our phones for cast screening or had apps already pre-loaded. Travelling with a child it would have been great to be able to watch some shows in the TV.

Rooms were clean and spacious. Staff were always courteous and helpful. It was nice to have a lounge and restaurant on the premises.

Breakfast was ok, but one morning the hot items were not warm enough. The immediate area is safe enough, but populated by many homeless folks, as there is a shelter for them nearby. Police were a constant presence in the area. We were never accosted or bothered by the transient locals though; so we never felt unsafe.

Staff were EXCELLENT! Very helpful and cheery to work with. We absolutely loved the rooftop deck! the view was amazing at night.

Our room only had a small coffee machine. there was a group of us so we brought Keurig cups knowing we would need them however the coffee pot was not compatible. We asked the front desk if they happened to have a keurig machine. They did!! Delivered it within 10 minutes! awesomeness
