The Astoria is adorable! The location couldn't be more perfect, right in the middle of town and lots of parking right across the street. Sure the room was kind of small, but what do you expect from a classic hotel built in 1925?! The room was clean, had a great view, a private bathroom and mini fridge - what more do you need? 😁 The price was excellent for the town & location - I would stay here again 👍

This is a well-located property. I was warned about the stairs, and packed accordingly. The room was small, but workable. The staff were helpful.
As you would expect in an old building, noise carries! My biggest problem was that the room was very warm, and I couldn't find the source. The windows don't open, and although the air conditioner worked, it was too noisy to leave on overnight. Local business owners need to pressure the council to sort out the parking-payment process!

Excellent location. Reception and bar staff friendly and efficient.
The waitress in the hotel restaurant rudely asked why we had only given 10% tip each morning instead of 15% at breakfast. This was the hotel's own breakfast room! If everyone gave 10% she was doing very well! We didn't eat breakfast there for the rest of our stay so the hotel lost our business.

Location is great, in the heart of jasper and walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. Walking distance to Jasper train station. Room was spacious and clean, bed was super comfy. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and helped take my bag up the stairs.
The hotel is old and needs a refurbishment. The rooms have been updated but the common areas look dated and worn out. Very expensive basic accommodation at 400/ night.

Very centrally located near to the train station and with plenty of restaurants nearby. Staff were very friendly and helpful, happy to store our luggage before check in & after check out. Bed was comfortable. Shower was very small but water was hot.
Rooms are on the first floor and accessible by a staircase only. The guys at reception we’re happy to help carry the luggage up. Our room was at the back overlooking rear of properties but was pretty quiet (Sunday morning though).

The room was spotlessly clean, had very good linens (including pillow liners), very good mattress, plenty of hooks, quiet AC, separate fan available, big window that could be opened wide, great room layout, very convenient location -- and for a good price at peak season. Plus they held our suitcases until check-in. (We arrived at 6:30 a.m.) Very friendly staff. We loved the Astoria!
Can't think of anything.

I liked the charm of an older hotel. The room was quite small but cute. Everything was clean and tidy.
The bathroom was very tiny. The shower tap is backwards to the normal. This wouldn’t be a problem usually but the temperature of the water would not stabilize. It kept switching from very cold to burning hot. I had to keep shutting it off as the shower is too small to get away from the water. Add in a backwards turning tap and someday someone is going to turn the tap the wrong way when it comes out too hot and get burned badly. It really needs to be fixed quickly. The shower head also sprayed over the top of the stall wetting the towels and toilet paper on the roller. We also noticed the fridge does not get cold enough to keep food in under food safety laws. We were in room 211.

the location was great very central. there’s a restaurant onsite and breakfast area for additional fee. the beds were comfy. there’s an ice maker. the restaurant staffs were great.
no parking but there’s a pay parking across the street. very tight toilet but functional. room was small for the price you pay. it’s quite expensive for what you get but you’re in jasper. the reception folks were not very welcoming even during check out they definitely don’t like their job or dealing with people.

the bed was comfortable, breakfast was great at Papa Georges, the bar attached was a good place for a meal & a beer.
The steps, they said 1st floor but it was more like 2 flights of steps..the staff were helpful with our luggage..parking meters were a pain..as it is all on street parking..everything looked a bit tired but the summer season was just starting & they were updating each day..

The room is humble in an old building, but perfectly comfortable, and decently clean. Very unusual circumstances with the whole town in an electrical blackout, and this was one of the only places open, with their own generator. We were lucky to book their last room, after the place we were staying cancelled all bookings due to the power outage. The staff worked hard and with a smile to accommodate us and many others who were in a very challenging situation.
Nothing to complain about. Particularly under the circumstances!
