We love Cheryl's place! This was our 3rd time staying here, we just keep coming back! Our first stay was in the room with the sauna, which was amazing. We just stayed in the suite a 2nd time this past stay and we loved it again. The property is so clean and comfortable, and the suite has everything you need, including paper towel, olive oil, salt and pepper, seasonings, cooking supplies... everything. The TV channel options were outstanding, and the yard is so beautiful, surrounded by trees and peace. Cheryl is so accommodating! We unfortunately had to check in late and she was so understanding. She let us park our boat on site as well. Thanks Cheryl, we will be back!

The large Family Suite we reserved was lovely. Clean, modern, all the conveniences you could want, especially if you were a sizeable group and could take advantage of a longer stay. There is a fully-stocked kitchen that we weren't able to take advantage of, but would have been great if needed. Also, the location was ideal for us, since it was halfway across the island, and it made our day trips very convenient.

Nothing that we didn't like about Hummingbird Guesthouse. We were told the dishwasher was not currently working, but we didn't have any need to use it.

Hummingbird B & B is just a few minutes drive from Port Alberni with parking spaces beside the property. It is a very good choice for a stop over for anyone visiting that town or for those continuing on to Tofino and Ucluelet. The room we had was spacious and clean with a very comfortable bed. For relaxing in the cooler evenings there are comfy chairs in the room placed around a gas fireplace. In warmer weather the large, well maintained garden would be a lovely alternative. The bathroom was also clean and included a sauna. Our breakfast was a choice of eggs or pancakes with toast and jam. A kitchen outside the room was well equipped and allowed for tea and coffee to be prepared at any time during our stay.

The room was immaculately clean and Cheryl, the lovely lady who checked us in, had thought of everything we needed in the room beforehand. it was a very comfortable bed and nice and quiet. it has a lovely location right across from the inlet. There were wonderful little features like a Hummingbird night light in the bathroom. we will definitely stay again at the Hummingbird!

We did not have breakfast but the location was great! The room (King bed) was very clean, comfortable, and quiet. The bed and linens were super comfortable! The backyard was beautiful and lovely to sit and enjoy a glass of wine. Cheryl was super friendly and helpful upon our arrival. Would definitely stay again and stay longer! Highly recommend!

our room was spacious and comfortable. Hummingbird Guesthouse is how I originally imagined the World of AirB&B- you get the feeling that you are staying in a home rather than a guesthouse. we couldn’t find anywhere to stay in Tofino area so settled on Port Alberni and opted to drive. it worked out well for us. the house is already on the pacific rim highway out of town and it’s an easy drive for Tofino or Ucluelet.

Extremely comfortable bed, in a large room offering enough space to rest, read or let the luggage. There is coffee, tea and granola available at all times, with the associate cutlery. Very clean bathroom. The host is very precise as to the regulations of the place.

I was expecting fruits at breakfat as had been mentioned. Breakfast is either eggs or pancake but must be the same for the couple (no alternate choice available).

I cannot recommend this place highly enough. It was so comfortable and Cheryl was so friendly and lovely. The breakfast she made was top notch and she accommodated for allergies and preferences. Guests have full use of the garden, which had lovely areas for sitting, and was full of wildlife.

The cost was quite a bit for what our family is used to paying for 2 beds, a sofa bed and kitchen facilities. Some of this may be just the average cost in Port Alberni for accommodations, but we were surprised with all the taxes and fees how much it was for a simple apartment style accommodation.

Beautiful place close to town as well as access to main highway

Not having a larger fridge was a bit cumbersome for us since we make most of our meals. Hosts were very accommodating by actually taking our used dishes and washing them for us since we had no kitchen sink
