Warmest hospitality! Bill and Milly know the area and can direct you to hiking, fishing, boating, and many other activities around town. We enjoyed homemade breakfast and dinner with other guests. The food was yummy and plentiful and we enjoyed meeting 4 guests hailing from Vancouver, Canada and London, England and hearing about their travel adventures and tips for places to see. The house is full of character and charm and the friendliness of the innkeepers is outstanding. We had a balcony and great view of the Alberni Inlet. They also offer lovely homemade soaps in the baths. It was one of our first post covid trips and we remembered how much we love having the opportunity to meet with other travelers! It's such a great way to learn about a country. Lastly, Outdoor Lovers is excellent value for the money.

I went on a vacation with my girlfriend and we planned to visit Tofino. To break up our travel time, we chose to stay for a night at this facility in Port Alberni. We were pleasantly surprised by the incredibly welcoming hosts. They provided us with fantastic recommendations for activities in the area, which we enjoyed so much that we extended our stay for an additional night. They also served us a delightful breakfast and accommodated our dietary preferences for dinner. The bed was comfortable and the room was impeccably clean. I totally recommend this place to anyone!

Bill and Milly were great hosts and really made us feel at home. It was lovely to meet the dogs too! The breakfast was fantastic and they gave us some detailed guidance for local eateries and walks. Thanks to Bill's recommendations we even saw a bear catching salmon! The accommodation itself is very homely and clean. The shared bathroom was spacious and the shower pressure was good (all important after a long day on the trails!). We hope to visit again in the future.

Nothing for the price, exceptionally good value!

Perfect place for visiting Vancouver Island. Location was perfect for my exploration of the West Coast area and the many nice spots all the way between Nanaimo and Tofino. The room itself had everything I needed. Breakfast was excellent and Bill had many good tipps for exploring suited to my -unfortunately- short time of stay, including nice restaurants to visit. I think nothing beats this kind of local experience if you really want to get to know a place. Would 100% recommend and go there again.

All perfect, could only have wished for more sunshine

Bill was extremely pleasant and helpful. He even provided dinner for us - a home-cooked meal that was delicious and included in the price! We were only 3 minutes from where we needed to go to catch our boat to Bamfield, and he provided information on parking, etc. The house was super quiet and there was absolutely zero street noise , which made for a great sleep. We will definitely stay here again if we are coming to Port Alberni. I cannot recommend this property highly enough! Thanks Bill and Millie!

I had intended to stay at my son's place when I found out they were sick so I had to book a room from another city 3 hours away. I arrived about 7:45pm at night. I was greeted warmly at that hour. I was very pleased with the room. The full breakfast was a bonus. The owners are very nice people. The facilities were very clean. I was very appreciative of the bars of hand made soap that I was given as I left. One for me and one for my wife who wasn't with me. I will be reccomending this place to my friends

Bill and Milly are incredibly accommodating and friendly people, who will tell you about all the best spots to eat, hike and other hidden gems. Bill prepared a healthy homemade breakfast every morning, and even made each of us a homemade soap to take home! The place itself is spacious and clean and has a beautiful view of the water, and is in walking distance of all the best restaurants in town!

Outdoor Lovers was great. Now that so many private accommodations involve dealing with an anonymous host and picking up a key from a lockbox (and forget breakfast), it was a refreshing change to stay in a more traditional Bed & Breakfast. Bill and Milly greeted us at the door, they provided fabulous breakfasts and were helpful without being intrusive. We look forward to future opportunities to stay with them.

The bed was comfy, the house was clean and the hosts were amazing. They couldn't do enough for us to help make our stay perfect. They were happy to give us information about walks in the area and good resturants, tea and coffee when we stayed in due to the bad weather and offers to join for dinner in the evening, as well as amazing breakfasts. They are just delightful people to talk too!

Bill provided a very fresh, substantial breakfast (home grown blueberries etc!) He and his wife seem very aware of healthy eating- fresh and quality ingredients. A dinner at no extra cost was also provided. (Ask about it.) House and room were spotless, immaculate. Bed very comfortable, high quality mattress etc. We have stayed in many B&Bs in USA and overseas. This one is in the very top rank. Also - great value for the price. The hosts are very knowledgeable about Port Alberni, Vancouver Island and its history and current issues. Very pleasant folks.

The only point I could mention was the fact that, during our stay the weather was quite hot during the day. Since few Port Alberni residents don't have air conditioning, the room could be too warm for some. But - Bill provided a fan, which alleviated any real problem.
