Location was excellent; the staff were friendly, helpful & always on hand. Breakfast room was small & all the guests seemed to share tables & exchange their experiences on Vancouver Island, which added to our enjoyment.The weather too added to our stay at the Waterfront Inn, being as the title says, on the Waterfront. Now back home in Ireland we are telling family & friends about this wonderful gem we discovered in Sidney BC. & recommending it for their visit to the island. I'm not sure, but the Waterfront Inn seemed like a family run business which is rare to find today. Well done to you all & thank you Mai & Mike Garvey .

My room was at the top of the stairs and the early morning noise/ chatter of other guests milling about stairs was a little annoying. Lights in the trees along side of Riva restaurant were very bright and shine thru window disrupting my sleep as they shone right where my head was on pillow. I like to keep blackout curtain open a few inches so I am able to wake up as the sunrises. Enabling curtains to be open from left hand side as well as the right would be helpful. Move the couch to beside the bed and the table and chairs to where the couch is so you can sit on the couch to watch tv instead of having to sit in bed.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in a Deluxe King Suite at Sidney Waterfront Inn and Suites! The location is within a 10 minute walk to everything in Sidney, and yet it still manages to feel tucked away at the end of Beacon Ave. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the unit was VERY clean. The king bed was firm and comfortable, and the spa tub was an amazing feature of the suite! The bathroom was lovely and large, and also included a large walkin shower. The covered balcony gave us an ocean view, and it was a lovely spot to enjoy our included light breakfast. The kitchenette area was stocked with sufficient dishes, glassware and cutlery, and included a coffee maker, microwave, kettle, toaster, and a mini fridge. The large dining table was handy, as we brought food with us, and the fireplace added to the overall relaxing ambience. The room is VERY spacious, with a storage room and a separate closet for hanging clothes. My feeling is that this room could likely fit at least 2 cots comfortably beside the king bed, perfect for a family to have a fun movie or game night! I would absolutely recommend this hotel, and I continue to be a satisfied guest each time I stay here!

We loved the Sidney Waterfront Inn. The room was very clean, the bed comfortable, the bathroom had lots of good quality towels and an excellent shower. We appreciated the fridge and microwave. The fireplace would be wonderful on a cooler night. The view was lovelty. We moved the dining table in front of the patio doors and enjoyed the view while having a simple but filling breakfast from the breakfast room. Staff were very friendly. It was great to walk the harbour front right from the hotel. Highly recommended.

Having to lug suitcases up a flight of stairs, but we knew that beforehand.

Handy location in downtown Sidney, so about 10 minutes from the airport. Free parking, close walk to the oceanfront and grocery store. Very very clean, lots of pillows, nice bedding, comfortable beds. Decent spread for simple breakfast on the go. Very friendly and helpful staff, and excellent value for money spent (a room at the hotel across the street would have been double the cost of our room).

Although this room was a very good value for money spent, the amenities in the rooms are a bit dated--ie. difficult to reach electrical outlets for charging cellphones, smallish television set up in the corner for people in both beds to watch, teeny tiny mini fridge. BUT still worth staying in this location because of all the pluses!

Second stay here as frist hotel I booked got sold or something. Excellent room with view to die for. I upgraded at booking and so worth it. Please pick the newer building if staying there. Entrance via store front but room so much better and worth the price. Location is in the center of town on the water by the pier. Lots of eagles, seals and friendly people. Love this town. Passed on free breakfast love some local spots instead. Checkin staff remembered us from last trip or had good CRM system.

Good breakfast. Wish there were a few more tables in the breakfast area. Best location, convenient to everything. Awesome seaside view which was the best we have ever had in oceanfront property. Beautiful clean suite with large comfy queen beds. Fireplace a nice touch. Suite was very large with two large queen beds, two comfortable chairs , nice large table to sit at with a couple of chairs. Beautiful deep jacuzzi tub which was very relaxing.

Bathroom was a bit dark. This could be easily fixed with brighter light fixture and a lighted makeup mirror. With those two items it would be a great bathroom!

I love this hotel! I have stayed here several times now, and I always leave happy. The breakfast is good, the staff are helpful, and the location is brilliant - close to the water and close to Sidney's amenities and businesses. They welcome pets as well! I live on one of the local islands and often can't get home because the ferries don't align with my schedule. Even tho' I'm usually only staying for one night, I feel like my patronage is just as valued as someone who might be staying for longer. If there is a room available, I will always choose to stay here rather than a big hotel chain.

Having to use an entry code to access the lobby on arrival. When manhandling luggage etc, I find this a nuisance. I would prefer if up to 11pm at least, the concierge could buzz you in.

Our room was looking a little worn, but the bed was ok, and the sheets clean. The location is great, as you are right at the Sidney fishing pier. "Downtown" Sidney is just steps away, so access to shopping, restaurants, etc. is a short walk. If you are going to the Surly Mermaid, be sure to make reservations. Most restaurants close pretty early and it was very busy there on a Wednesday night.

The room was very basic. No comfortable place to sit, other than the bed. The air conditioner is a small window type, and was fairly loud. I had to set the temp down to 18 degrees C to get it to cool the room enough.

I was so happy to find I could charge my jeep on site easily. My room was so spacious with a lovely fireplace and the bathroom had a wonderful large jacuzzi size tub. The views were spectacular all ocean view just above the water literally with a balcony to enjoy being even closer right off the room. I was also so appreciative that they allowed me to bring my dog.

The breakfast was very basic, but at least there was something.
