Inn on the Lake, Ascend Hotel Collection

This is our last hotel/Inn before we fly back to ON. Location is 10 minutes away from the airport. If you drive down Highway #2, there is a plaza there, with restaurants and a supermarket. It is wonderful! The room is huge, and toilet is separated from the jacuzzi. Service is friendly and lovely. When we asked for some plates, they brought them up to us right away. Room has a microwave, you can even bring your own food and heat it up. The Inn has a restaurant at ground level. The Inn has a pool and plentiful parking. However, there was a leakage in the room (beside the ceiling light) during a thunderstorm. No elevators, you will need to carry your own suitcase up the stairs. I will definitely come back for another stay, a highly recommended Inn.

The receptionists were all very helpful and friendly. The room was pretty modern and was large and clean with a very large comfy bed. The wifi was good.

There was no common room to sit in, but there were some comfy chairs to sit in the restaurants as they became emptier. With no lift (elevator) the stairs were awkward to drag heavy luggage up. The breakfast was truly rubbish and should not be called breakfast - just bad coffee, sweet cheap muffins and yoghurts. The receptionist called it a 'grab and go' breakfast as though it was some sort of virtue, but it's the worst I have had in a hotel that supplies breakfast. Whilst it was located by a pleasant lake (with a highway running by) oddly few rooms actually looked over the lake with most overlooking the car parks.

Lovely large room with comfy bed and large bathroom. TV worked well. Very pleasant staff who accommodated our special payment needs....thank you! It was convenient that the airport was close by.

It was too bad that the restaurant was closed the evening/next morning that we were there. Most other restaurants in the area were also closed on Monday. It would have been nice if there was a table or two outside in the gazebo. Such a beautiful hotel should be nestled away in a quiet area.....sadly, the traffic was quite heavy beside and in front of the hotel.

we got engaged there in 2003. our room had a view of the lake. A large room for our family Christmas gathering.

upon check out they said it would be three days before I got a security deposit back. I am actually still waiting.

I travelled with my partner and our 15 month old son (first trip) and the staff were just wonderful to accomodate us with any needs we had. From having the opportunity to use their shuttle service to pick us up at the airport (and being able to install our car seat), having a playpen handy for us to rent for free, providing us with milk for our son the next morning, and much more. The inn offers a lot, with the pool, balcony, nice grounds to visit, little beach and lake front. Plus there is a acces to pharmacies, grocery store, restaurants walking distance.

That the restaurant and pub was closed on Monday and Tuesday, since we were staying from Monday to Wednesday.

When we checked in we were asked if we smoked. And we do not. Did not hear anything about vaping and my husband does. He was standing at the patio door, and took a puff off of his vape. There was a staff member standing outside. When he heard Hey you!! Not excuse me. But Hey You!!! He said you are smoking. And Mark said no I just vaped. This very rude man said this is your first and last notice. We felt like we were being watched. Mark did not vape again in the room of course. And the vape has absolutely no scent. We actually thought we would be charged extra. When I asked the guy at the desk he was equally rude and threw the owners business card at me and said call the owner. Morning check out was much more pleasant. We were there on Tuesday Nov 8th. Room 201

Nice facility! Had electric fireplace in room. Scene was very nice. Gazebo on lake front. Parking was free and only 25 min away from downtown Halifax. Not far from local establishment such as Fsst food or supermarket. Great experience!!

Testament a little pricey. Breakfast was not included and cost wad double what expecting. No complementary items on request.

Quick and easy pickup at the airport. Pleasant staff. I love having a balcony that I can step out on and enjoy the fresh air. The room was perfect. The dining room was unexpectedly well designed and had friendly staff.

I got there at 10 at night straight from the airport. The only food available was pizza ordered out. It didn't arrive for an hour, so quite late in the evening. Luckily it was delicious (Jesse's Pizza)

Love the over all place, our room on main floor & patio to come in & out with our pet. Allowing pets...thank you. Service was excellent, friendly caring & helpful staff. Enjoyed sitting out seeing the water boats going to & fro.

Cost of room, Price of meals & too much noise above us last eve & night.

We just stayed for one night as we were picking up family from the airport early in the morning. I loved the small balcony on our room. The prices were much better than the comparable hotels that are closer to the airport. The friendly staff and cozy facilities give it a relaxing home time feeling. The only thing I missed was the free buffet breakfast. Covid is no longer a good excuse for these bag breakfasts. If some hotels can offer a breakfast buffet - all can. Overall, we loved the place and would highly recommend it.
