Homewood Suites by Hilton Halifax - Downtown

The room was quite comfortable and having a kitchen was really helpful given we were there for 6 days. The breakfast in the morning was very good and consistent. All of the staff are terrific, very friendly and helpful. Terrific location!

The only thing I would change would be the quality of the pull-out in the King Suite. My son could feel the springs of the mattress and the frame was really squeaky so we heard him every time he turned over. Other than that, we had no complaints at all.

It was very roomy and loved having the kitchen. Quite clean. Breakfasts were interesting, tasty and hot. Staff was very friendly and tried to help.

Paying so much for parking per night when staying an entire week. Should be a flat rate or cheaper when staying seven nights. We had a TV that hardly worked at all. The voices were out of sync with the movement of the actors mouths and the TV volume cut in and out constantly. Complained and was told on the second complaint that the manager had known this TV hadn't worked for 3 years. Also requested dish soap which we never got so we on the secnd to last day had to pproach one of the cleaning attendants for soap.

Large, spacious room with plenty of storage space. Decent sized kitchen with breakfast bar, more than ample for cooking dinners or breakfast. Leisure facilities were extremely well kept, with a good swimming pool and well stocked gym. Location is within easy walking distance of most downtown attractions, with bars/restaurants a couple minutes away.

Breakfast buffet could have been better organised (lines to queue for food; dirty plates left on vacated tables; certain products not replenished frequently). Also confusion regarding the rules around food delivery to rooms as the helpdesk gave conflicting information. Car parking upon arrival was quite confusing with no apparent spaces available, however was dealt with upon check-in.

Very good location for exploring downtown Halifax on foot. Comfortable & spacious room (king suite with kitchen). Fully equipped kitchen. Nice breakfast room & good breakfast.

Shared pool and laundry facilities with adjoining hotel so it was often very busy. Was unable to use laundry as only one machine was working and it was always in use. Ocean view room had only partial water views as there is a large tower being constructed across the road.

The suite was spacious and had a wonderful view of the harbor and city. The beds were comfortable and liked that there were two bathrooms. The hotel is secure in that you need a key to be able to access all floors beyond the lobby. Breakfast was provided. Kids enjoyed the pool. The location was great being right downtown and within walking distance of all the must-sees.

The sofa bed was not comfortable at all. There was not enough cutlery in the kitchen to accommodate our group. The parking garage was complicated to get into and the directions from the staff weren't 100% clear. The box to scan your card at was blocked by parked cars the majority of the time as well.

Very nice comfortable suite. The breakfast selections were exceptional as was the seating area. The location was good for downtown access but the walk to the waterfront was extremely steep and heard for us to walk back up.

The parking set up makes it difficult to unload or load a car as it is a bit of a walk to the garage. When we were checking out there were no carts available to transport our luggage. This required us to make numerous trips back to our room and out to the parking garage. On arrival the staff appeared to be new and not very knowledgeable. Check in was slow because of this. We weren't informed that we had to ask for towels when we needed them. When finally ordering towels it took almost 3 hrs to get them and they were obviously older towels and not as thick as the towels we had at the start.

I had only two towels and one robe in the room. Also there was only one dishwasher tab and very little plates. When we have a booking for 4 people there should be 4 towels at least. When I asked for more coffee and shampoo for our second day as we were there for 3 nights it took 1 in person visit to the front desk in the morning and 2 calls (all explaining the same things needed) just to finally have someone come at 10pm to bring us one coffee packet for a coffee maker we don't have(k cups is what we needed). He was not great at speaking English so I he wanted me to type out what I needed on his phone so he could get it for me. All in all our stay was good but the dishes, towels and poor restocking of essentials was something that can easily be corrected and was sloppy on your part

The location was close to Citadel and the waterfront. One bus from the airport takes you very close to the hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable. We had a good view of the Citadel. Halifax is a walkable city and we were close to everything we needed. Hotel room had a kitchen and a grocery store was about a 20 minute walk away. We didn't get a chance to visit the pool/gym on site, but we were happy to know it was available if we wanted to use it.

The business centre wasn't available, but the front desk said that they would print anything we needed, all we had to do was email them.

Great location with walking distance to harbour, downtown, Citadel and the park. Our room on 7th floor had view of the Citadel. The studio unit was very spacious, particularly the washroom. A large TV, small stove, dishwasher and microwave and a large fridge were among the facilities. Breakfast had many options.

Only 2 elevators service this 16 story building. One was not operating at the time of checkout and we had a wait long to get our bags to the main floor. Parking was not only expensive, but not very conveniently located. We had to walk a long distance from the parkade. Entering and exiting the parkade was complicated. Check-in desk should have explained it more.

My mom and I liked the location and the kitchenette most. The staff members were very friendly with resolving our issues (ie., with the first room, helping us with pulling out the sofa bed, prividing us with an extra blanket upon request, and granting access to the second room when my mom couldn't get in) and helpful with the restaurant recommendations and luggage storage. The breakfast was very filling too.

Our room (on the 4th floor) wasn't available until almost 5pm, the tile floor was a bit sticky, and the room smelled of sweat. We did get a new room though on the second floor which was much better so thank you. I slept on the sofa bed and it wasn't very comfortable so I don't recommend it to others. Other than that, we would have appreciated a fan or at least an air freshener in the bathroom.
